I have tourettes too! I had no idea there are whole youtube channels for it! It makes me feel a lot better :) It actually makes me feel almost special. Like "ha, I actually get what he's talking about and these other people don't!"
I don't completely understand the corner thing, but I get the synaesthetic thing. I never really realized it, but I think I have a mild case of that too. I always thought A's were red. And Thursdays are decidedly green. 5s are bluish purple, etc.
If you're ever interested, "Phantoms In The Brain" by V.S. Ramachandran has a wonderful explanation of synesthesia in the endnote for the chapter "Do Martians See Red?".
It's actually somewhat difficult to diagnose synesthesia because the most common synesthesia-like symptoms come from simple association such as thinking of the word "Stop" as red because of traffic lights.
tictionary i haven't got tourettes but i havesynaesthesia what can be the reason and i see monday as blue tuesday red and wednesday green and thursday black and friday orange. 1 is green 2 baby blue 3burgundy 4 yellow 5black 6 brown 7 red 8 pink and so forth is this unusually weird or how can i cope with this synaesthesia i have? thnx friend.
Wow! I wouldn't imagine, for example, an orange Friday! :)
Synaesthetic perceptions vary a lot from person to person.
A surprising number of people seem to have associated synaesthesia. It's not bad, just slightly unusual (but not in a bad way). You don't have to have any other condition to have it. Is the synaesthesia annoying you at all? If not, there's no problem :)
LOL, I don't have any conditions, surely not tourettes or OCD, but A is read to me too. I think because I associated it with apple from the time i started reading.
G is green and B is blue; but those are obvious. But S is yellow, because I think the word Shit sounds yellow, but I don't know why. It makes no sense. It's not an issue for me, just a weird oddity since child hood. Never shared it with anybody.
When I feel someone near me with a sensation on my skin is that synesthesia of touch with sight. I also have a Hear something and move
and sea something and bark. Why would I do things that are the opposit in nature or different in nature from what triggers the tic. That seems llike linking signals but not senses.
The only side effects of Risperidone is occasionaly shaking and sometimes feeling like your muscles are tense, apart from that it's fairly side-effect-free!
I commend you for sharing this with others, you are very mature, Im 29 years old, and you have enlightened me with these theories about my own condition with synesthesia and tics and their connection, thankyou
May I ask about your synesthesia-tic relations? Do you have same as/similar to me?
I'm seeing a neurologist soon and I haven't found anyone else with synesthesia reacting with their tics so it would really helpful to hear from someone with a similar experience, because otherwise, it will be seen as a very odd case, I think, because I don't think it's been reported on much.
My best friend has Tourettes as well as Synaesthesia also. He sees color with music

I have Risperidone to take if/when I want to for my tics, but to be honest I don't feel the need to.. Maybe on my wedding day eh? ;]
Oh and thankyou very much for suscribing :D

No problem :)
Medication would be lovely if it didn't have the huge number of side effects that all the TS meds do :(
