  • Great info helicopter friend.

  • Very Helpful info cheers broke,

  • Great vid, many thanks!

  • What should I do if my elevator servo motor seems to have more stroke than the to servos? My servo horns and linkages are level and equal length. Please help, thank you

  • Great video.. very well explained and very clear.. thanks for posting.

  • Brilliant vid, well explained, and very clear picture, well recorded.

  • Just for newbies. The leveling of the swashplate at "flat blade=50% tx pitch curve must be done by "adjusting linkages" only!!! Do not touch sub trim. Sub trim is only adjusted to set servo horn at 90 degrees. If you adjust subtrim, then you will screw up the symmetry of the servo travel. Hope this makes sense.

  • No, you do not adjust the trim to level the swash. You will need a computer programmable radio that allows you to adjust the total servo travel for each channel. It is called ATV or travel adjust. You are adjusting where the servo stops at the end of its travel.

  • Sorry I dont understand about end point could you pls explain how to set it and does it mean i just adjust the trim ??? im pretty new with set up balance.

    cheers

  • Excellent vid, thank you a lot, very informative and precise. You should do another vid for the blade pitch adjustment to compleat the rotor head series ;)

  • Great vid! I just purchased a prebuilt heli. Hope all is setup correctly already, but now you have shown me how to check it.

    Thank You!

  • Thanks a lot for posting this - its been a great help to me !!

  • good clip. have any of you fellas looked at the wow cheats pack from warcraftbotsXinfo (replace X with .) ? it's fantastic, i recently downloaded the pack. it's got absolutely every thing in it, gold guides, bots, hacks, glitches and even the new arena glitch. i probably shouldnt tell folks about it but at least this gives you all a fair opportunity to get it before i own all of you

  • I highly recommend for everyone to "create a seperate tx model" exclusively for the setup process. I also like to use 0-50-50-50-100 pitch curve as tin175 mentions, but furthermore set 0-0-0-0-0% throttle curve. (This will prevent motor spin up, if you know exactly what you are doing!). Then after set-up rebind back to your original tx model. In this case, model match can be annoying. I have futaba, so I don't have to re-bind when switching tx models. Stay Safe keep simmin.

  • That poor Protos has gone to heli heaven!

  • A great great great video m8 :-)

  • I stille have troubles with low and high position in idle up. At midstick leveling is fine, but when in low and high position I still have a cap. Now you say I have to adjust my end-points, but what do you mean by end-points? the traveladjust?

  • You need to adjust the servo travel endpoints to get the swash level at the low and high positions. The endpoint adjustment is also called travel adjustment or ATV. This adjustment changes the total travel of the servos in each direction. The default setting for these are usually +100,-100. You need to adjust the aileron, elevator and pitch channels accordingly to get the swash level at the high and low positions.

  • Thanks a lot !!!!

  • Do they really need to be acurate to the millimeter?

  • I recommend that you have the best mechanical setup you can achieve. A millimeter is quite a lot. Adjusting a trim on your radio will move the swash less than a millimeter and this is enough cause your heli to drift.

  • @vanepico YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If done right, and heli is balance you don't need to touch the TRIM when hovering. Not needing trim is often surprising for most plankers getting into heli's, but don't compromise. With a solid heli(trex, protos, rave...) it can be set PERFECT.

  • yea my servo arms would not go a complete 90 , they where like 85 i had to used sub trim to make the 90.

or ill have to buy new servo arms.

  • my servo arms would not do perfect 90

so had to use a little sub trim , and thank you for your responce.

  • You need to adjust your servo arms to 90 degrees using the sub trims first. You can then level the swash at mid stick by adjusting the length of the links.

  • can you use sub trim to adjust the gap

  • You can use the sub trim to level the swash at mid stick, however it is much better to adjust this mechanically so that your servo arms and linkages remain at 90 degrees. A good mechanical setup will mean you have less swash interactions to correct.

  • @twaciis2 Yes, don't rely on end points to get a swash plate level at high and low either. Instead use sub trims for that, after having a (very very near) perfect mechanical setup at mid stick with the correct swash plate mix settings. Newbies often confuse end points with setting the servo's neutral position through transmitter programming and many servos really don't like it when they're wearing out more in one direction than the other.

Apart from that 100% ATV will always give best response.

  • Great info, thaks for sharing.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this very usefull video .

  • Thank you for the great info!

But you left out the important part: Where did you get the leveler?

     Got a link?

  • Nice vid!

Where did you get that tool?

What is the length of the tool from the top to bottom?

  • Ark Innovations has them. You will need to email them because they are not up on the site yet. I have a link in video information. The tool is 32.2mm high

  • I have included a link to where you can buy in the video information.
