This is pretty massive demo. Unfotunatelly on real hardware this indeed runs a little slow. I've tested this on both A1200 + Blizzard A1260 and A4000T + Cyberstorm PPC. (Both with 68060/50MHz cpu) On Cyberstorm the demo is a little bit faster ofcourse but you need to run this under emulation to get it running this smooth. Anyway, the demo is really nice and shows that Amiga can still almost do the same tricks with 20 years old hardware as modern PCs. Almost. Elude is a great group.
I sincerely doubt this is on an Amiga AGA. An Amiga couldn't handle all those colours or the 3D and transparency effects, I guess it's for Amiga with mediator and Voodoo 3?
@Barry3443: Believe it or not, what you see here is true AGA with 256 colors. The 3D, shading, transparency and all that stuff is done by software which means you'll need a quite fast CPU to handle it.

Great to still see fantastic new Amiga demos, but if Im honest. I think the best demos were made in the early 90's. After that they changes to something like this and lost their true Amiga feeling and touch.
@ddniUK: There was no smoothing (or any other type of filter) used to improve the picture and the YouTube compression is surprisingly good. IIRC, apart from the framerate, the video shows the demo as it looks on a real Amiga (noticed the pixelated edges?)
how did "mass effect" end up on the amiga? ;) seriously, this shows what the unreal engine on the pc is trying to do. perhaps some bioware-employees more interested in the amiga in work? ;D ;D
What you see here is just an emulation. The party version runs terribly slow on the real hardware (I got about 10-15 fps on my 060@50MHz). Hopefully the promised final will improve a lot. ;)
Really great demo, but some scenes looks like a placeholders. For example, the frames from 2:50 to 3:10 and from 3:30 to 3:48 can be easily dropped out.
On the contrary, the crashed smoking ship scene is too short
By the way, the greets part is very original, I like it.
Unbelievable! Well done Elude! That was about time :D And it's well deserved! Best Amiga Demo Ever ? Hard to say, as demos evolve : a technically less impressive demo now used to produce the same wow effect at its release date (eg Laapsus), so this demo is the wow of our times :) And hopefully there will come more wow demos next years!

This is one very "snotty" video. =p

Reminds me of classic Doctor Who. You just can't fake the '80s scifi stuff you gotta use '80s equipment.

Nice!
It chugs a bit on my 060 @ 50.
Also is there a video filter on this youtube clip? It seems to be smoothed. Is that simply Youtube compression?

@ddniUK Please wait for NatAmi with 68060 133 MHz and fast SDRAM onboard :D
Or wait for new downloadable CPU of NatAmi called 68050 and see how it rolls!

Mount cooler on AGA chips... probably is to hot! Work well on A4k and A1k2...

If I recall correctly, this will not run 100% smoothly on a real amiga.

What are the specs of the Amiga running this? CPU, Mhz and RAM would be great. Just wondering. It's just incredible.... Thanx
