This is really beautiful, its one of my favorite poems. A friend of mine expatriated in the early 1970s and went to the U. Toronto. he sent me a poetry text he used in a course there which, unsurprisingly, had a a large number of Canadian poets. That's where I learned who Alfred Purdy was. He should be better known outside of Canada. Thanks for posting this.
