I prefer softmod since it's free, easy to install and can does more then wode (homebrew)

I have both. WODE is better. I have ran into a few games that wont work with softmod and work fine with wode. And yes both can play gamecube backups. But the wode is the only one that can play them off an external drive. I love usb loader but wodeflow can access both games gamecube or wii if the hard drive is partitioned right.

@uagniza No, not really. I have no problems. By the way with new games the require updates using neo gamma. With the softmod you have to have the actual game in the system. Since the wode sees the iso as a true disc and then so will neo gamma. I done this with driver san francisco.

softmod is WAY better. If anyone is still doing hardmodding at this point, they are dumb! There are hacks that you install that block any Nintendo updates...but as was pointed out already, Nintendo stopped releasing updates for the WIi.

You can play burnt gamecube games with a softmod too, just not with current wiis.

@bigjake52 What cios you crazy person? we've been using the same mod pack for a year and 1/2 now and even before then there were only some minor updates, Ever hard modded chips needed to be re-flashed and updated now and then this is very normal.

@ZellZellda Well if you play game cube games soft moded you need a cios the modded verson is a cios, and you can not load game cube games via usb, that is why I bought the wode and there is stuff you need to install besides to get the usb loader to work

I'd say wode as it allows you to load gamecube games from the harddrive. Softmod has this too. It's call MIOS DIOS. But the problem with that is the creater gave up on it and it is very buggy and uncompatable with most game.

Whats the point of using WODE? Just install homebrew channel and usb loader... plays both burnt games and USB Hard drive games.. the new systems dont allow burnt games... even with WODE...

My Wii has both WODE & softmod, but I use the softmod for other stuff, like custom themes, Gecko/WiiRD cheating, and WiiMC.

As a bonus, I also installed a custom case, but it's not the same chrome/silver here. Mine's the crystal chameleon with the color-changing lights.

My wii has wode and is softmoded.

I MUCH prefer the wode. BTW the softmod Wode UI you use for your wode is horrible. The one I have for my wii can be downloaded from the wode site and you dont need to use a Gamecube controller. You can also load games directly from the wode dude and you couldve done so over 5 months ago.

This was a terrible review, you shouldve done alot more studying as far as the wode is concerned.

Being that I wipe my ass with 1k bills means I could give a damn about a hundred bucks bro.
