Dragonball had a great story with tons of imagination. Dragonball Z started off good, but there would be about 15 episodes spent fighting each major bad guy. The bad guy would get shot with a HUGE ball of energy and just stand there and a mountain gets blown up but he's still unharmed. Then everyone flies around, yells, and grunts a lot. Vegeta and Goku find they can go super saiyan and then some. It should've ended at the cell saga like it was planned to. Raditz never should have showed up!

It was originally intended to end at the end of the frieza saga, but the guy started milking the cash cow.... see at the end of the frieza saga everything that was foreshadowed from the beginning was cleared up.... this is why the next saga (Cell) had less actual depth in the story. THe milking of the cash cow was more obvious in the buu saga though and even more so in GT which didn`t even involve Torriyama.

Ehh, the Saiyan stuff was interesting and a good twist. I just think the DBZ series should have ended with Freiza, and that all the characters that were marginalized shouldn't have been. When the whole thing just because about uber-powerful warriors (about the time Vegeta showed up), it just lost its sense of adventure and also made the comedy fail to work.

That said, I still remember this song from when I was 8...

This is The Ocean Dub of Dragon Ball. This version ended up being dropped and they then went on to make DBZ.

This was the opening made by Funimation in 1995. It was used in the first 13 or so episodes they dubbed as a test, but it was a flop. Years later, DragonBall was re-dubbed again, and they used their own English version of the original Japanese intro. That one is the version the U.S. has today.

No. This is Ocean Group (you were close). Ocean Group was the company that had these voice actors (Ted Cole, Lalainia Lindbjerg etc.) Blue Water handles the British version of the series.

I used to love this intro. I remember when this was on tv. It came on YTV in Canada. It never went past the first saga with Pilaf which always pissed me off as I enjoyed the show very much. I also remember how they used light reflection on the glass of the van to hide Bulma's boobs when Yamcha accidentally sees her naked from outside. I really wish they had continued with the series right then and there instead of years later.

I love this intro. I never saw Dragon Ball. I started watching DBZ in the 3rd grade because Power Rangers was getting too old. After that I was really hooked. Then about over a year ago, they started showing GT and that was cool, but hard to follow. The the last episode came and Goku became part of the Eternal Dragon, I was crushed, yet satisfied that the show was over. The Dragon Ball I watched was the Ocean dub, which is better that FUNimation's version. Thanks so much for posting.

Does anyone have the intro that refers to Goku as "Zero"? It follows the melody of the Japanese version and is the best of the English adaptations imo, although it come from a translation that changes all the character names.
