  • is this thing 4wd?

  • XL or XLT trim?

  • where did you find the turbo diesel emblem? i got a 94 idi turbo and i cant find them anywhere.

  • @Burnsidef250 I got another emblem laying around

  • I would love to fine one bc I cant stand gas powered anything, truck I have now a 88 ford f-250 with the 7.3 idi no turbo. where is the best place to find one?

  • How much did this cost u

  • @William1996ish 500 bucks

  • the things i would do to have this truck!!!

  • gotta love these things. it broke my heart when i had to sell my 1986 2.9l ranger. ive always wanted to replace it with a diesel ranger but theyre so hard to find!!

  • Cool!

  • wanna sell it?

  • The rangers had 2.2 liter perkins (model4.135) from '83 to '84. In 1985 they switched to the 2.3 mitsubishi turbos and discontinued all diesels by 1988. The best combo in my opinion is to put a Nissan 2.5 into a ranger. One of the toughest engines made, plenty of power. The ranger trucks are stronger than the nissans by far. Thats what they make cherry pickers for...

  • It's a 2.3-liter Mitsubishi turbo diesel engine, I think.

  • 2.2 perkins

  • not exactly. Ford used the 2.2L diesel designed by pekins, purchased by mazda and then contracted out to be biult in a mitsu factory. (what a mouthfull!) untill about 1984 iirc.

The 2.3L turbodiesel (as seen here) was designed and built be mitsubishi and used after 1984 in the rangers. Not near as realible as the perkins designed engine, but still a good motor.

    T

  • Your the first person Ive ever seen that new that, The mits 2.3 was great if you took care of it, and the perkins never really died(the didnt rev high at all)

  • @MckeeBoyzRule what turbo would i be looking for to put in my 2.2

  • @baker967 Just yank out the welder and some exasht tubing and get to work is all I have to say! :D a turbo off a 2.3L 4cyl for (like in the turbocoupe thuderbirds or mustangs) would be a safe bet, and they are fairly easy to fin parts for. Im running an IHI VHF4 (ball bearing) in my mazda and its really too small and builds boost too quickly for my taste, but it works very well!

  • @mitsumivec4life Perkins. which is Mazda I believe. Chevy had a (idk turbo or not) but a rare option diesel s10 at the time.

  • That is pretty sweet dude. Didn't they quit making Diesel Rangers in 1988?

  • is that a 4bt cummins?

  • no its probabley a 2.2 or a 2.3 perkins
