@Littlebuddy15 "better for texting" isn't necessarily true, it all depends on the person I had a bold 9780 and decided to downgrade to a curve 3G and I text faster on the curve.. And the Bold is a better phone obviously, there really is no reason to compare them you get what you pay for. And the curve is a good phone it's not bad but nobody should say it's better then a bold that's just retarded.

The only reason the bolds trackball is slower is because the sensitivity is not higher. You can set the sensitivity so it can move faster or slower on the screen

@Xprocent Its pretty big but not bulky, maybe you should try the Bold 9700, its smaller and more compact ;) Im not sure if a BlackBerry is okay für a 12yr old to be honest. Its pretty complicated for that age.. but yep, it goes easy in your pocket and typing with no mistakes works great and is easy ;) Hope I could help you.

I own both devices and with all the rif-raff about 3G, I decided for the Curve. Why? Because the browser on any Blackberry sucks, and the sucky browser trying to utilize the 3G actually slowed down the browser. After eight months of using the Bold 9000, I decided to give the Curve 8900 a try and the Curve proved faster running on EDGE than the Bold using 3G. Too many javascript issues with the Bold. Do not buy the Bold for its browser. Worst browser on the planet.

The reason why the icons on the Curve appear smaller is because the Curve has a slightly smaller screen than the Bold, however it has a higher resolution = smaller icons but more detailed. Now apparently you can change this resolution on the curve, putting it to the same as the Bold, however I myself do not own any BB yet so I cannot confirm that statement.

Hello! The keys on the 8900 are suppose to be tight. I have owned two. Both had tight keys that didn't move No slack in keys. The track ball after months may cause problems other than that the 8900 is a tough well made phone. I'm paralyzed it hangs around my neck I use n depend on it about every 30 minutes all day n night until I sleep. I listen to podcast while I twitter facebook messenger. the best phone I ever owned. If your main decision depends on the keys then I would send it back. TC

oh..i thought it has something to do with the sim card. coz in my country..phone with dual-band can use 2 sim cards in it at the same time. then i tot quad-band can use 4 sim cards..silly me :P

if you like the leather battery cover (rock solid!) and the design of the bold, you can live with 2mp --> bold
