  • Wonderful video really shows natures beauty, but what was up with that alt. funk at the end? I mean what's up with that!

  • the ending bass groove makes this video 10x better.

  • this is how religion believe to have started

  • @intermaniax1 lol wut. religion is a man made fictitious pile of crap

  • Comment removed

  • @intermaniax1 that doesn't give it any validity.

  • @AlexanderMccarthey87

  • HELP Tarra the Elephant NOW - the true story behind this is very sad and wrong! Tarra is being kept from her rescuer, human friend of 35 years, and founder of the Elephant sanctuary Carol Buckley. A HOSTILE take over of the Board of Directors threw Carol out of her home and has kept Tarra from her most constant friend and supporter that she and the other elephants love. PLEASE google the petition - PLEASE Reunite Tarra the Elephant with her friend, Carol Buckley - and sign it - spread it!

  • i wish i would stop crying, maybe i should just end it

  • @jpx7x No, you should get help, find a therapist or psychologist. Life can be hard sometimes but it's definitely worth it to keep going. If you're depressed that's a serious medical condition that isn't your fault, you don't have to be sad. Find some help, I don't care what you think, you're worth it <3

  • @jpx7x Do it.

  • I love that the video ends with a little ditty courtesy of Flea from the Chili Peppers.

  • smooth ass funky bass at the end ruins the whole athmosphere

  • Cynthia Moss is a true decent person.

  • It's so sad that our species has done everything that it can to reduce the majesty of the natural world to what it's now become.

  • literally im crying :(

  • Great article in National Geographic about orphaned elephants. Go read!!

  • amazing.... i never knew this

  • i wonder if maybe we are just putting our human emotions onto other animals?

maybe they were just curious what the bones were and they knew they were elephant bones so they were smelling them etc

  • @SuperYellow1989 what you're saying is called anthropomorphizing, and i don't think it's the case here. scientists who have studied elephant brains/behavior can tell when they are displaying the human equivalent of distress or emotion, and elephants often display this when they see other elephant bones. if anything, i think we anthropomorphize our pets a lot, like cats & dogs. but for eles, there's a lot of strong scientific research on their intelligence, search it on the internet.

  • I was crying.. I have loved elephants since I was 3, so I deeply care for them. It really toutched me..

  • I heard that every animal except humans don't know that they are going to die. Do you know if this is true and if you say yes where are some internet resources, videos, etc. that back your case up?

The best case that would interesting to know about is elephants since elephants mourn their dead. Do they know that they themselves are going to die also?

  • mommy?

  • what's up with the Seinfeld-esqe music at the end? lol

  • "One of the great mysteries of elephants is the reaction to the remains of their own kind."

Humans sound so dense sometimes. A friend dies and you mourn their death. You remember them, think about them, and "carry" them with you. There is no "mystery" here. Humans only think it's a mystery because some of us are so blind by our arrogance. We so preoccupied with this assertion that we're so smart that we miss all the intelligence in other species.

  • we define "Humanity" as compassion and empathy for others. So that makes Elephants more human that us, when you stand back and look at it with some objectivity. Not to say that animals don't have fights. hell, elephants probably hold grudges sometimes. since they never forget and all that.

  • "Sportsmen" like Buck McNeely and Jeff Rann have different plans for these animals. They are "overpopulated" (unlike benign humans) and must die.

  • ...elephants recognise the bones of other elephants. They try to resucsitate dead or dying elephants, they try to rescue each other from drowning. They mourn.

This means elephants are capable of something that we thought only humans were capable of.

Elephants are aware of their own mortality.

So, without turning this into a religious debate- where DOES that put the Bible?

Thoughts, and lessons learned from our Elephant Brothers and Sisters.

  • What the heck -- I was crying, then suddenly felt like gettin' down to some funky grooves at the end.

  • @jonathan401 lololol

  • @ItDarn I actually think that elephants could build tools and houses and everything just with their trunks. :)

  • I agree with you twirzzle. there are no "stupid" animals, just stupid people. Just because animals cannot communicate in human languages it does not mean they are dumb.

  • Seinfield anyone>

  • Boycott zoos and especially circuses!

    I LOVE ANIMALS!

  • @ResplendentWings

Zoos do a good job, they promote education and they help conservation.

  • @Treemeadow some zoos... not all zoos.

  • @annibell07

Yes, of course- but the first poster made a sweeping statement.

  • *crys* i am crying so hard right now its so sweet!

  • @photolitherland they do know. When they are about to die (when its due to old age) They will go to what we call an elephant grave yard, where they will lay down to die. They know that they will soon be one of the many skeletons at the graveyard, and join them. Its kind of sad :(

  • @ItDarn you fucking hate humans lmao......news flash mate.... you are one!!!

  • Not sure what was the cause of our corruption. Maybe it was early cannibalism, incest? We'll probably never know, but what I do know is that most people will never change. There will always be a lack of compassion for other species by many of the ignorant fools of this world. That's why I believe & wish that humans would just vanish off the Earth one day. So that the Earth and animals can have peace again. Maybe some humans who care for animals would stay & free the animals in zoos, in labs, etc

  • @ItDarn Lol, "they."

  • And the lion shall lie down with the lamb

  • animals are very sensitive to death its just a shame most people think animals are too stupid to understand

  • @cutelilangelxxx i think its a shame people dont think animals have no emotions, and have alot less reason to be here. Every animals feel pain, love and all other emotions. Slaughtering animals for food is wrong.

  • Elephants are the only land creatures, besides humans, that can cry.

  • I don't know about that, I know we try to see human emotions in our pets but I swear my dog cries. I had 2 amstaffs both sisters kanga & maggie, maggie was hit by a car when she was 5 and I buried her on her favorite mountain, now every time I take kanga there she goes straight to maggies grave and whines and looks for her, it's been 4 years and she still does this, when maggie died kanga started sleeping on maggies bed instead of her own as well, it's amazingly sad.

  • That's so sad!!! :(

  • Any animal with eyes can cry.

  • this lady said, its a mystery? im telling you man its scary how people dont realise that all living thigns are creation of god and all animals have a understanding just because we cant udnerstand there alnugage does it mean they dont have sense of death?? its really disturbing if you ask me humans most of humans atleast need help and could learn alot of they just looked instead of always trying to label an animal as just an stupid animal...

  • this is incredible i love elephants and they are so smart ..its kinda sad too , to see them so sad =(

  • Agodinthesky? Strange how religious people pick and choose from science so selectively.

  • WE'RE ANIMALS TOO!

  • Comment removed

  • They are trying to see who it is and also they are showing alot of respect to it they try to Burry the bones for them thats respect....

  • i believe the world is underestimating the intelligents of not only elephants but of animals world wide.

  • @twirrzle I believe humans overestimate its own intelligence.

  • @twirrzle i believe u overestimate your own intelligence

  • well, they are the smartest animals in the world and the only animal with a ritual around death. They're amazing animals.

  • i thought its the dogs?

  • I think dolphins have a pretty good understanding as well. You should watch some stuff about dolphins, they're actually smart on a human level.

  • Tehluz, elephants are smart on a human level. I used to study dolphins and their intelligence is very overrated and generalized. Bottlenose dolphins and Orca are the dolphins that have been studied the most for intelligence and that does not mean other dolphin species are at that level at all.

  • @thestarduster Actually humans are the smartest animals.

  • @metronomic1 humans are the dumbest animals actually.

  • @shairaptor yeah pretty much, your average field mouse has a better chance of survival in the wild than a human

  • @thestarduster Actually, bonobos (I think they are a family of chimpanzee but I'm not sure) are the most intelligent animals on the planet excluding humans. You should check some of the videos on them. Really incredible stuff.

  • @duality2527 Wrong.

  • @thestarduster technically chimps and dolphins are the smartest animals in the world tho

  • @thestarduster No, the pig is the most intelligent animal.

  • hgahaha...nvm, ill do it again...WHAT DoES god in the sky have to do with this video?
