This video -to a current suffering disordered person or a recovering/recovered person- is extremely offensive. I have both anorexia & bulimia only cos I have severe mental problems, like the usual depression and anxiety shit, and then BDD too. It's usually not that common though, I've just got a predisposition to it.

I know from personal experience that some people don't eat, but when they must they will purge to get rid of it. And anorexics also don't just not eat, they do eat some, depending on the person. Just a very limited restricted amount.
@iFrozenSolid1 It's spelled bulimia, but you can can still vomit without eating. The clinical definition of anorexia (nervosa) is when you are literally unable to eat. It has nothing to do with body image, but when it doesn't have nervosa it's about body image/emotional/physical issues. I know you never said anything, but you should at least be educated in the subject.

@ZadZadrack i am normal, maybe even a teensy bit of extra weight right now. When i was 14 somebody called me fat, so I started making myself throw up to lose weight. I lost about 30 pounds in a month and a half or so. It was the worst time of my life, and I pray that I will never go down that path again.

Eating disorders aren't just about being thin. Yes,that's one issue but there are many underlying issues as to why people develop eating disorders. They are about control, but the eating just comes along with it. People with disorders have distorted body image and don't want to feel the way that they do. However, I do agree that eating disorders are glorified when they shouldn't be - they aren't glamourous and they can kill. What's so glamourous about that? Stay strong and NEVER give up. Xx
Vids like this promote eating disorders...they dont ever talk about why ppl actually get this addiction or what it takes to actually help them. Eating disorders are not diseases. If they were any one could get them at any time...its about the person and they can stop any time they want to. Its about self esttem and other issues that they hide from by not eating. Deal with the issues and your "cured". Videos like this do more harm than good, they let girls know that they will get the attention they crave if they starve, thats a victim mentality thats all too common. Thats why they are more common now...the attention.

I almost died a few times, it wasnt for attention, it helped me forget things. THink before you say things. @ZadZadrack i am normal, maybe even a teensy bit of extra weight right now. When i was 14 somebody called me fat, so I started making myself throw up to lose weight. I lost about 30 pounds in a month and a half or so. It was the worst time of my life, and I pray that I will never go down that path again.

Eating disorders aren't just about being thin. Yes,that's one issue but there are many underlying issues as to why people develop eating disorders. They are about control, but the eating just comes along with it. People with disorders have distorted body image and don't want to feel the way that they do. However, I do agree that eating disorders are glorified when they shouldn't be - they aren't glamourous and they can kill. What's so glamourous about that? Stay strong and NEVER give up. Xx

Vids like this promote eating disorders...they dont ever talk about why ppl actually get this addiction or what it takes to actually help them. They are all emotion and filled with pity...they want you to say "oh, its so sad, she was sooo pretty..." which doesnt accompish anything. It just promotes a victim mentality too common in todays society as is.

The media is impacting what everyone thinks, therefore everyone thinks that you need to be skinny and thin to get on in life. I never used to think this. The media has and will always portry visions on ideal beauty. This isnt new. The rise in eating disorders are. Its how society is dealing with them that has changed and effected the rise.
When you really want to stop, you will. When you deal with why you are addicted to not eating..you will start to change. It can be hard but actually simple.

No one understands believe me. You haven't been the one with a herion addicted brother and sister. A father who verbually and physically abused her mother until they seperated. He verbually abuses me still. Worse than anyone could imagine. Not nessicarrly every person with an eating disorder is so different...Did you know that? Eating disorders are not diseases. If they were any one could get them at any time...its about the person and they can stop any time they want to. Its about self esttem and other issues that they hide from by not eating. Deal with the issues and your "cured". Videos like this do more harm than good, they let girls know that they will get the attention they crave if they starve, thats a victim mentality thats all too common. Thats why they are more common now...the attention.

Get counsiling, start with the issues of why you dont eat an BOOM your ok. As for parents...no child of mine would ever have an eating disorder bc I actually parent. It IS for attention. Just like self cutters, ppl who act out, kids who sleep areound or drink to access.....ect.

ACTUALLY its not for attention. My mom was a great mom, she was always there for me. at the age of like thirteen I started partying hard, I would turn to it for every thing. I almost died a few times, it wasnt for attention, it helped me forget things. THink before you say things. If your child was starving themselves would you tell them to stop trying to get attention? that sounds like a really bad parent to me.

I had an eating disorder. If your frined said she "liked looking at her bones" she obviously needed help. She needed to deal with some deep issues...it wasnt about being thin. Im not heartless, I am honest. I beleive in actually helping ppl....not just giving them what they want which does more harm then good.

Eating disorders are for attention. Its all about how others perseive you. You want others to with find you thin,attractive, pity you, be concerned about you, to know your in controle...ect. And the fact that ppl drop dead from it doenst change the truth. It just means they either didnt have the help they needed from parents who didnt do enough(if they were underage) or they iddnt want help(if they were adults) in which case nothing can be done.

I once saw a video to this song where it was a fat girl acting. It felt really wrong. She didn't really feel dying ("Sophies dying") from the anorexia... haha...
This one however is deeply touching. Not only that Sophie is a thin girl but also that she acts really good, and looks that sad and dying that the song is all about. She's even got it in her eyes. It's really touching and beautiful! I added it to my favourites. :)
