I don't own one yet, although i am waiting to buy one right now (damn merc waiting lists). A work colleague/ friend has had one for going on 12 months now and he uses it everyday to drive from Barnet to Stansted and he has no problems with it. I honestly cant tell you about tuning but why would you want to ? It sounds and goes perfect the way it is. Servicing costs are a killer so beware of spending between £600-£800 for a service depending on where you go and what is being done.

12mpg in the city and 19mpg on the "highway" yeah right.......if you are putting your foot down all the time. Driving it normally you get more like 19mpg in the city and 26-28 on highways. A person i know has one of these and he does a lot of motorway driving and has assured me he averages 30-33mpg on his drive. But as others have said, if you buy this car why worry about its economy, you dont buy a car like this and think shit, i really need to drive it economically.........

An automatic doesn't know when you are about to make a split second decision and overtake for talking sake or brake sharply and need to drop gears.

A manual will always be quicker than an automatic!

I have driven this car and many other automatics and for me there is ALWAYS a delay, however small that delay may be, even in this car!

This car does not have a manual transmission, it has a setting where you can manually go through the gears (like most automatics), but it has a Speedshift 7 speed automatic. With paddle shifters as well
