Smoke testing for codes P0171 P0174

PLEASE CAN ANYBODY HELP ME i have the same problem with my truck but my doesn't say to lean it say to reach i have a little bit of black smoke from the exhaust !!!!!!

The new lower intake gaskets are green from GM. Have not seen aftermarket yet. Those old ones had some miles. Fuel trim would have pointed to this too.

can oxygen sensors triger this codes.. i have 07 avalanche new body style.. check intake leaks and replaced maf sensor.. fuel pressure is at 60.. also good .. now im down to think its oxygen sensors.... any help?

you can use propane or carb cleaner ( carb cleaner is less safe since it coats surfaces and could ignite) however you just spray alittle around area's that could be pulling in outside air (intake area's, vaccum lines, etc) until the engine revs.. once you get it reving from spraying in one spot off and on you know where your leak is. i think "realfixesrealfast" have a video on using propane to find a leak. Also "Ericthecarguy"channel has one as well on how to use carb cleaner method. cheers

If a leak is very bad the engine idle will change when you spray crab clean in areas where it is leaking vacuum. sometimes a leak that will cause a lean code on a newer car with a mass airflow sensor is not big enough to cause a idle change when you spray added fuel around the air leak though.

Wow, thats alot better than spaying the engine with carb cleaner and waiting to here it rev up to find the leak. Are those smoke machines expensive?
