Seeing Mariah have to go falsetto on some of the high parts on this song makes one realize just how awesome a voice Steve Perry had in his prime.

Everyone knows Mariah is overrated and sings very over-the-top with lots of falsetto. But lots of famous people are overrated for their talent. Overrated people always sell the most albums. Don't get me wrong, she sounds good, but she's got that typical 90's Whitney Houston wannabe vocal with all the fancy shmancy R&B vocal runs that gets annoying after about 5 minutes. Although they have little in common in terms of vocals and musical style, Perry's vocal power is legendary compared to (what I feel) is a weak version of this song. Perhaps that's the way she wanted it. I guess its just not my taste. Oh well.
