There's something I find very entertaining about all these Aussie knock-offs of American hits I'm discovering on YouTube. The Mojo Men's arrangement of this (by Van Dyke Parks) was certainly a lot more influential than the original by the Buffalo Springfield.
@IDLERACER : In the mid 60s to early 70s, it was the thing to do!! ie knock off some UK or US tunes that were never going to be heard over here.Look up Normie Rowe,Ray Brown and the whispers,Allison durban, the town criers.I reckon Normies shakin all over is the better version. As well, this Sit down is a whole lot better than the Buffalo springfield one.Cant say the same for Allisons take on the Diane Kolby song Holy man-yet AD had a great set of legs,jk from sydney
Well, I was 9 when this came out and I fell in love with this song and ended up working in the music industry for 30 years because of it....rock on and live life full!
Wonderful song! Have been waiting for this one to come up as it got deleted before. Great memories of Sydney in the 60's. Thanks for posting this and other Executives stuff. Only a moron would listen to rap rather than this!!
