  • I love the trumpet part, I use trumpet in a lot of my compositions. Really well written! How long did it take you to write?

  • Why do people rate this so bad? Normally there wouldn't be this many haters on this kind of video so just to 'even' it out a bit I'm going to press that like button.

  • i love ths, it is very catchy, especially the trumpet~!!!! good job

  • hhaahahhahahaahhhahahahaa

  • lol, the beginning reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. That's a good thing btw.

  • it started nicely, i didn't like the "all voices descending" in 00:19 (second image), though. cheers!

  • You suck at counterpoint and harmony...

  • everything on sibelius sounds so bad :(

  • cool

  • This is actually really good! You should try and work yourself into the pop-industry, this is a lot more inventive than some of the shit you hear in modern pop AND it's a catchy tune.

  • @moltoallegro19 People like you deserve to be ignored.

  • @Bleumange What!? That was a compliment! And nobody who knows anything about music can deny the fact that most of modern pop is comercial crap. That's why I was saying there is room for this guy, who actually has talent, because there are, still, pop-artists who actually are "artists", who write music as a way to express themselves. These, however, are few.

  • @moltoallegro19 So because you're so desensitised to the actual process of writing music you glorify everything that's not r&b/rap?

  • @Bleumange I'm sorry, I don't quite understand what you're saying (I am not a native english-speaking person). All I am saying is that this guy is obviously talented so he should try and go for it in the music industry, which, I mean, is too full of crap produced only to speak to the masses and thereby making as much money as possible for the people behind it. That's a sad truth, but it is - nevertheless - the truth. I don't understand why you bring up specific genres like r&b and rap like that.

  • @moltoallegro19 I brought them up because that's mainly what you were referring to. I'm saying that because someone has minimal knowledge in the field, it doesn't mean he should listen to you.

  • @Bleumange I'm not "mainly" referring to r&b and rap, I'm talking about popular music in general. And, no, he doesn't need to listen to me, but I AM allowed to give him compliments and encourage him if I think what he's doing is good. What's your problem!? Assuming (and telling me!) I mean one thing when I clearly say an other, saying that he shouldn't listen to my compliments, and also assuming he has "minimum knowledge in the field". You have no reason to be rude, now leave me alone!

  • damn

  • All i don't like about this piece is the trumpet part, maybe it's becasue of the poor sample quality but it sounds bad, everything else is genius.

  • There's plenty of breathing spaces for the trumpet here. In the end of the long notes, for instance, where you can have a quick replenishment.

  • I like it, however I think your trumpet player will pass out trying to play that :p

  • nice :)

  • The counterpoint style you used is too academic. Try composing them as individual progressions in your head rather than fitting them to each other...

The semiquaver off-beat on the snare drum part is extremely dissentive as well. You should follow a more techno-style beat for this kind of fugue.

  • NIce try , but IMHO you need to put more effort in your arrangement skills ....

  • Terrible music.

  • very bad counterpoint!

  • how did you upload this?

  • I made the video with CamStudio.

  • I play trumpet and it would be impossible to play as there are no rests

  • i graduated high school a year early and am now in college and i too play trumpet, lol that would not be impossible... but i do have to agree with shrimpiness and entropiamusic, the counterpoint was not as good as it could have been... try to listen around to other music and get some ideas, other than that nice melody.

  • @philipeafroboy1

I play trumpet. it would be playable im not very good technically but with practice a decent player could play it. Theres minims to snatch breaths.

  • @philipeafroboy1 what do you mean. you can play trumpet without playing rests. you breathe after longer notes without cutting of the ends.

    haha

  • @philipeafroboy1 actually it is possible..just take quick breaths at the end or close to the end of the tied notes or between the longer notes :P

  • @philipeafroboy1 Your obviously not a very experienced trumpet player. I've played music in bands, where they are no rests, (ok the odd occasional crotchet rest) and the pieces go on for around 10 mins.

  • @tom01011 I'm studying for a diploma

  • @philipeafroboy1 I've got a masters.

  • @philipeafroboy1 There would be more than one trumpet playing this if you where to play this, and you would stagger breathe.

  • @philipeafroboy1 trombone. find a way to breathe.

  • @philipeafroboy1 some trumpeters can go that long, I can play for about 45 seconds on trombone, which takes more air. This requires about 50 seconds of playing, not necessarily unreasonable.

  • @philipeafroboy1 circle breathing!

  • @philipeafroboy1 Well that Sucks for you!

  • some of the things sounded out of time with each other. maybe that was just sibelius's fault

  • this is wonderful.

  • It's great. I'm not a big fan of this music genre but I still liked it. I liked the Bass and Drums!

  • in my opinion i don't like it, it is really peoples opinion but they put it negativily.

  • dood screw these other haters it was fun to listen too

  • nice

id like to hear u compose more stuff like this

  • I like it. :)

Some people just don't know music.

  • checkout my channel. I got compositions that you'll love! comment or subsrcibe and u might get more!

  • Sounds like something to introduce a tv show.

  • this would be great as a mallet percussion emsemble

  • the sounds is horrible!!!!! a midi shit ahaha... the music is very simple, you need a interesting harmony

  • Muy bien ¿Es tuya?

  • Gracias, y sí, lo hice.

  • Thats great!

  • WOW

  • i cant get my demo of sibelius to play back any more :(

  • me too. :(

  • i even downloaded it again but still didnt work

looks like i will just have to make things like this in the music room at school :(

  • Click the first note, then hit "n," then you can add more notes. Or, as you're putting the note in for the first time, you can add notes to it without just changing the note, as long as you don't click anywhere else first.

  • Sounds very computery. But a niece composition.

  • WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY better than the Cadence you wrote. Kudos! :D

  • hey i probably sound stupid, but how do you change the mix in sibelius?

  • Ye its great and all but i am sorry to have one slight critacism...

when is the trumpet ment to breath it isn't that easy for us brass players to circular breath

  • I agree, but its still nice. Very well constructed. ; )

  • starts off spooky then lightens up the mood of the song. i actually liked it from beginning to end.

  • Oh, good job with this man :P

5/5, and favorited (I don't favorite a video unless I really, really like it :P)

  • co0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0ol i really liked it!!!

  • brilliant! :D

try adding lyrics, i bet it would sound great

  • that may be, but lyrics aren't actually heard if u write them, they are simply for when you print your piece

  • yeah, but then you can play the song and sing along, it would probably sound really good :D

  • ook

  • nice :D

  • hey :D do you fancy sending me that :), cus its awsome

  • That was really good, i enjoyed that keep working on it and become a song writer :)

  • if thats the kontakt player it sound terrible not your music just the kontakt player

  • They're all Sibelius Sounds.

  • Good Job man!

  • really nice chords in there.

how do you get the synth sound? whenever i try, that kontakt player automatically switches it to piano

  • Click "Play" at the top of the screen then choose "Playback and Input Devices...". Then make sure "Kontakt Player" and your other computer synth are set as "Yes" under "Use." Then, hit the mixer button and click the synth. Change "Device" to the synth that's not Kontakt Player (for me, it's "Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth"). Click "Sound" then "Synth Effects" then the sound you want (I used "Pad 7 (halo)" in this).

  • k,

    thanks

  • Does that work?

  • Very good

  • make the minims at around 0:31 (and others that follow the same rhythm) a semi quaver shorter or longer because having 3 together makes it start off beat sounding like its a mistake.

apart from that I really really liked it, ezpecially the bass at the beginning

  • that's really kewl i enjoyed listening 2

  • wow lol this is awesome, i just got sibelius and im not quite up to this standard

  • THIS IS PREETY COOL

  • thanks.
