Regine naturally has an excellent head voice! She is one of those singers who sings entirely in mixed voice (strong head voice) not chest voice but she does not sound nasal like many of the others (e.g. Rachelle Ferrell, Patti Labelle, Aretha Franklin, Erykah Badu). This also allows her to belt really high notes and sound like she is hitting them in full voice

Unfortunately she was asked not to mention her nationality (filipino) instead producers advised her to disclose herself as HISPANIC, its a complete representation of Racism, thats the main reason why only few asian artists made in Holy wood. Charice is talented, at 18 and as a starter, she has been internationally famous that already proves that she is talented... Regine's videos has been posted in you tube too even before charice's ..but we should thank regine for her contribution to the Philippine music industry, she is a legend. I am enjoying pilipino singers and they are all good. but what i dont understand is everyone is fighting who is good. what i found out is that there are many new pilipino talents in the tube. @purigiti You can't define the quality of a vocalist purely in terms of his/her range.. Compare it to cars, the car that can go the fastest usually isn't the most comfortable one to ride. Sure, great if you get your kicks from super high notes, I like them too at times, but that does't mean she is the best vocalist, that's a personal matter.
I prefer a vocalist that knows how to balance power and the conveying of emotions associated with a song. For me Regine has extreme range, but no depth.

i've said this before, and now, after maybe a year since i last saw this vid, my stand remains firm that this vid shows envy over those who were guested at Ellen's show. we can be proud of regine, i am proud of her.. i liked the vid, very nice. but i guess purigiti needed not post the last slide that went like: "now, ellen, meet the queen.." parang, hello?!?!?! di naman ikamamatay ni ellen kung di nya i-guest si regine no.

@purigiti You can't define the quality of a vocalist purely in terms of his/her range.. Compare it to cars, the car that can go the fastest usually isn't the most comfortable one to ride. Sure, great if you get your kicks from super high notes, I like them too at times, but that does't mean she is the best vocalist, that's a personal matter.
I prefer a vocalist that knows how to balance power and the conveying of emotions associated with a song. For me Regine has extreme range, but no depth.

Great! Amazing video! That part when songbird belts out last part of forever,that was great! I saw that on tv on sharon,with martin. Martin even said regine is her favorite filipino female singer in their concert Martin & Regine. Great job!
