@Msoneofakind365 P90X+ is the "graduate" program to P90X-but still incorporated the original P90X. It's basically 4 extra DVD's at about 45 bucks. (not each, for the whole thing). @Janellyp84 If you want to gain weight, I am assuming you would like to gain muscle; and in that case I would make sure you are getting at least 1 gram of protein per lb of body weight PER DAY. Also-don't be afraid to lift heavy. Max out at 6-8 reps when you are weight lifting. You will gain weight in muscle, but lose inches-which is an amazing thing! :)

@barbdejun Absolutely! It helped with mine-but keep in mind that everyone is different..they say after about a year of consistantly eating healthfully and working out-whatever loose skin is left, is there to stay. But good news is, is that working out and eating good will help DRASTICALLY. Its all about building up muscle mass, and trust me, you won't bulk up. wow! I have had 3 children, the youngest is 6 months. I'm petite, 5'3", and I've lost all of my baby weight, I'm back to 110 but my body was still yuck and I still dont want to be seen in a bathing suit. I am on day 16 of p90x and it is kicking my butt but I love it. I already look and feel so much different. I already made my husband take more pics of me. congrats. @reggaeechick Skin is a tricky thing, some people can lose it, others can't...genetics play a large role. The general rule is that anything that remains there 1 year post weightloss, is most likely to stay. But hey, I look at it as having battle scars :). Hello. First of all, congratulations on all of your hard work! You have an amazing body! I am currently on P90X on day 57, but I am not getting the results I want. I don't have a coach or anything and the program I am using is from a friend. It is just the dvd set. She used a lean cuisine schedule. It worked for her, but not me. I would really appreciate advice from you. I did lose some weight, but I don't look like I did. Thank you for any help.

@silchara The above results were a cumulative effort of a year and a half...but it's always changing and evolving. I never "stop" eating healthy or working out. I have to keep challenging myself so I can maintain and improve when needed.
@lizard26 I didn't really "diet"....I just followed the Nutrition guide that comes with the P90X system. It's not really a diet per se..it's more of a lifestyle change. I was never hungry I'll tell you that!

i can really relate to you. i look like (now) what you looked like before you started. I have extra skin from my pregnancy though. Did you? Mine isn't that bad, but I wonder if its even worth it. I did P90X for 30 days and I looked really good. I can imagine if I had gone the full 90, although I still don't know if it would have helped my stomach much.
@lovelyamor30 Oh yes I had extra skin! They say that whatever is left after a year of working out, will probably stay there for good. I still have loose skin from being preggers, but I've learned to wear the right kind of clothes...not too tight of hemlines, the right fit can make all the difference. P90X will greatly improve your core, and burn off alot of fat and tighten up your core, and maybe some of that extra skin..it did for me! Go the full 90, see what happens! xoxo

@fltjt705 Thank you for your kind words! Yes, I followed everything to a T in my first 90 days of P90X. Most will tell you that after that, you kind of memorize the P90X eating "lifestyle" so that's that. I take the P90X results and recovery drink, (post workout drink, electrolytes and protein), Activit multivitamins, and whey protein powder. I have a question for you. I have been a martial arts practitioner and I'm in a great condition, not ripped but can do many pushups and pullups, run, kick, punch, etc... But, I moved 2 weeks ago and had to quit martial arts...
I want to get a video workout based on plyometrics SOOON before I loose my condition and most importantly muscle tone... I'm looking into three TurboFire, P90X, and Insanity...Which one would your recommend for me?
@TheCitlalli82 Hmmm for you since you do martial arts and want to get into plyometrics-TurboFire or Insanity would be a great choice for you. Insanity is more sports specific drills while TurboFire has alot of plyo and martial arts-but set to music. I'm doing that program now and it's kicking my butt! But I love it! Just depends on which better suits you.

When you started p90x which version did you use, classic, doubles or lean? I'm in my 33rd day of p90x and plan to do p90x, insanity, then p90x plus. Also instead of the 'recovery drink' I have been drinking protein shakes. Do you think this is okay?

I've noticed on most P90X results videos that abs change dramatically, but legs change subtly. Is there anything you did to get noticeable improvement in the legs?

@UGAfan8908 You will find that the nutrition guide that comes with P90X is pretty awesome and very easy to follow. You actually eat a TON of healthy food, that is filling and energizing.
That is quite a transformation! I would love to do this but my food discipline is not good at all! I love food so much and I don't know how to slow it down! I tend to eat things that taste good to me a lot more than food that is good for me! And not only that but I am active every now and then with sports with friends, but I don't actually work out because I am busy with college during the year, and work...I just can't seem to balance it because then I wanna chill with friends...Please help!!

Wow...your results are amazing Demi. I'm currently 2 weeks away from completing Insanity and I'm moving on to P90x afterwards. Do u think it would be best to do p90x first then insanity...or vice versa?

Either way is fine-I only did P90X first because Insanity wasn't out yet-maybe I would have done it the other way around, or vice versa-it will work the same for your benefit. If you're almost done with Insanity, finish it, then give Insanity a try-it will lean out your body and show off the muscles you worked so hard for in P90X :)
isabelbean i'm very impressed with you results! I'm wanting to start p90x not really for weight loss but to get stronger. I had surgery last march to remove my whole colon due to ulcerative colitis. @vainight i still follow the general guidllines from the p90x nutrition guide, but not to the T as I used to. I generally just eat very clean healthy proteins, nothing fried or processed, whole grains, and plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. :)

@casies1000 I did 1 round of P90X-the results that were shown on the infomercial, then I did another round of P90X+, which is another 90 days, but harder. Yellow bikini shown is the result of that. I still use P90X and P90X+ now. :)

Were you breastfeeding while doing p90? I find that after the birth of my son, my energy is fikkle when I try to do a beachbody program. Should I just continue and let my body adapt? will it eventually lean out or do you think my body is storing extra because I am breastfeeding? xxx Great work btw!
@MelissaMangoTV I actually did breastfeed for the first 2 months while I was on the program. I started breastfeeding at birth, so total was 6 months of it. By the third month p90x, my supply started to dwindle, so that's when i started to wean. if you plan to breastfeed longer, i'd keep that in mind. baby is always more important :) so if your energy is lagging, maybe postpone untiil after weaning, whenever that may be. xoxo
those abs!! i just watched your vid with my gf and she really wants to show her abs but needs to lose little bit of body fat! she's fit though and you can see 'em while exercising. how did you do it? any nutritional advice?
I am in the 4th week of my p90x journey. I do the lean version and am not really seeing results even though I am doing the workouts religiously. I feel better, no doubt, but the day 24 pictures look no different to me. I have not done the diet so far, but I do not eat junk anyway (e.g. do neither like chips nor icecream nor pizza, do have a weakness for bread though) .I also drink only water. Am I too impatient or is the diet truely that important? I would be glad to read any tips.
IMHO, of course the diet is important. A tough workout probably only burns 500-1000 calories. It is easy to eat that in a snack if not careful. You might try doing a food diet and weigh/measure all the food you eat to get an idea of what you are consuming calorie wise.
@p90xinswitzerland The diet IS TRULY THAT IMPORTANT. It's the fine line on whether you succeed or don't succeed. I would also suggest switching up to Classic, because there is more weightlifting in there, and muscle burns tons of calories at rest, so you need up your muscle density and lower that body fat. Get back on the nutrition guide! xoxo
@fat22ful you'll love it and yes it's killer, I have already done p90x 3 times, so I'm doing other beachbody programs, but i'm sure there is someone out there who is willing to start on the same day as you. if you are a beachbody member, you can go to the msg boards and there are TONS of people looking for p90x buddies. You could even find one in your area if you wanted to. if you don't have a beachbody account you can set one up for free at my website listed in above video description.
ok thanks...oh did you just cook for yourself and then make something different for your family, because my family don't like some of the stuff. It's a huge adjustment for them and their so picky especially my girls. their like can you make something other than chicken or fish. hahaha
@sheargal1 yup, cooked for myself, and other stuff for the kids....but i chose healthier options and they had no idea. like whole grain pasta, whole wheat mac and cheese, lots of fruits and veggies in healthy ranch dressing. just the little things can make a huge difference. try to buy local at a farmers market and take them with you so they feel apart of the whole experience. kids love that :).
what time of day did you do your workout and what kind of weight did you use weights or bands? Did you do extra workouts with the p90x like squats or extra cardio or just stuck to the exact routine? Thanks for answering all my silly questions, but you look amazing and thats my goal
i don't mind! and they are not silly questions! :) I actually used the bands the entire first month. and they were really effective. i started to accumulate random weights here and there, and eventually did get a pullup bar.don't be scared of pullups, if you can't do them (and I couldn't in the beginning) you can use a chair to assist. :) I did an extra cardio session maybe once a week in the last month and that was it.
I did the classic. I also did the nutrition plan probably by the book for the first 2 months. I still do it now to this day, but it's pretty much from memory. great thing is that this program is a "doable" lifetime program that will keep you flexible and fit forever..and teach you how to eat. That's what I needed the most and was the most helpful! :)
Great Job! I was like you 3 mos after I had my baby. Just stuck & working out daily! It took me abt 4 mos to give in to the infomercial and finally get P90X. I'm glad I did but wish I wld have done it sooner.

After seeing this video, I can totally relate to my wife and having a baby now...She will start the X next month. Very inspirational. Perserverance!! Nothing less.
There is no question that your body went through a
transformation. Obviously during & after your pregnancy you are going to gain weight and look fat.
What were you like before you had kids? Were you fit? Active? What was your body fat %? Since you are military my guess is you were at least in relatively good shape. You also probably have good muscle memory. Women who were fat, out of shape & sedentary before they had kids should not expect these results, unless they put forth tremendous effort.
I have been out of the military for 7 years, so no muscle memory there. After my first baby was born, I lost weight, but my body fat still hovered at 21%..i.e. flabby but skinny. After my 2nd baby, I couldn't lose the weight at all. The pic with the blue dress my baby was already 3 months old. Even months after that I was still 150-160 lbs at 5"4. People have done this program REALLY out of shape, and have put forth alot of effort and attained similar results, or better!

@reggaeechick Skin is a tricky thing, some people can lose it, others can't...genetics play a large role. The general rule is that anything that remains there 1 year post weightloss, is most likely to stay. But hey, I look at it as having battle scars :). Hello. First of all, congratulations on all of your hard work! You have an amazing body! I am currently on P90X on day 57, but I am not getting the results I want. I don't have a coach or anything and the program I am using is from a friend. It is just the dvd set. She used a lean cuisine schedule. It worked for her, but not me. i can really relate to you. i look like (now) what you looked like before you started. I have extra skin from my pregnancy though. Did you? Mine isn't that bad, but I wonder if its even worth it. I did P90X for 30 days and I looked really good. I can imagine if I had gone the full 90, although I still don't know if it would have helped my stomach much.

@lovelyamor30 Oh yes I had extra skin! They say that whatever is left after a year of working out, will probably stay there for good. I still have loose skin from being preggers, but I've learned to wear the right kind of clothes...not too tight of hemlines, the right fit can make all the difference. P90X will greatly improve your core, and burn off alot of fat and tighten up your core, and maybe some of that extra skin..it did for me! Go the full 90, see what happens! xoxo

Most will tell you that after that, you kind of memorize the P90X eating "lifestyle" so that's that. I take the P90X results and recovery drink, (post workout drink, electrolytes and protein), Activit multivitamins, and whey protein powder. @TheCitlalli82 Hmmm for you since you do martial arts and want to get into plyometrics-TurboFire or Insanity would be a great choice for you. Insanity is more sports specific drills while TurboFire has alot of plyo and martial arts-but set to music. I'm doing that program now and it's kicking my butt! But I love it! Just depends on which better suits you.

Wow! That's insane! Congratulations for making it that far! I'm trying to do this also, although I wanted to know if you recommended anything that could really target the upper thighs and legs. I've noticed on most P90X results videos that abs change dramatically, but legs change subtly. Is there anything you did to get noticeable improvement in the legs?

That is quite a transformation! I would love to do this but my food discipline is not good at all! I love food so much and I don't know how to slow it down! I tend to eat things that taste good to me a lot more than food that is good for me! And not only that but I am active every now and then with sports with friends, but I don't actually work out because I am busy with college during the year, and work...I just can't seem to balance it because then I wanna chill with friends...Please help!!

Either way is fine-I only did P90X first because Insanity wasn't out yet-maybe I would have done it the other way around, or vice versa-it will work the same for your benefit. If you're almost done with Insanity, finish it, then give Insanity a try-it will lean out your body and show off the muscles you worked so hard for in P90X :)

@vainight i still follow the general guidllines from the p90x nutrition guide, but not to the T as I used to. I generally just eat very clean healthy proteins, nothing fried or processed, whole grains, and plenty of fresh fruits and veggies. :)

Were you breastfeeding while doing p90? I find that after the birth of my son, my energy is fikkle when I try to do a beachbody program. Should I just continue and let my body adapt? will it eventually lean out or do you think my body is storing extra because I am breastfeeding? xxx Great work btw!

@MelissaMangoTV I actually did breastfeed for the first 2 months while I was on the program. I started breastfeeding at birth, so total was 6 months of it. By the third month p90x, my supply started to dwindle, so that's when i started to wean. if you plan to breastfeed longer, i'd keep that in mind. baby is always more important :) so if your energy is lagging, maybe postpone untiil after weaning, whenever that may be. xoxo

I am in the 4th week of my p90x journey. I do the lean version and am not really seeing results even though I am doing the workouts religiously. I feel better, no doubt, but the day 24 pictures look no different to me. I have not done the diet so far, but I do not eat junk anyway (e.g. do neither like chips nor icecream nor pizza, do have a weakness for bread though) .I also drink only water. Am I too impatient or is the diet truely that important? I would be glad to read any tips.

IMHO, of course the diet is important. A tough workout probably only burns 500-1000 calories. It is easy to eat that in a snack if not careful. You might try doing a food diet and weigh/measure all the food you eat to get an idea of what you are consuming calorie wise.

@p90xinswitzerland The diet IS TRULY THAT IMPORTANT. It's the fine line on whether you succeed or don't succeed. I would also suggest switching up to Classic, because there is more weightlifting in there, and muscle burns tons of calories at rest, so you need up your muscle density and lower that body fat. @sheargal1 yup, cooked for myself, and other stuff for the kids....but i chose healthier options and they had no idea. like whole grain pasta, whole wheat mac and cheese, lots of fruits and veggies in healthy ranch dressing. just the little things can make a huge difference. try to buy local at a farmers market and take them with you so they feel apart of the whole experience. kids love that :).

i don't mind! and they are not silly questions! :) I actually used the bands the entire first month. and they were really effective. i started to accumulate random weights here and there, and eventually did get a pullup bar.don't be scared of pullups, if you can't do them (and I couldn't in the beginning) you can use a chair to assist. :) I did an extra cardio session maybe once a week in the last month and that was it.

I did the classic. I also did the nutrition plan probably by the book for the first 2 months. I still do it now to this day, but it's pretty much from memory. great thing is that this program is a "doable" lifetime program that will keep you flexible and fit forever..and teach you how to eat. That's what I needed the most and was the most helpful! :)

There is no question that your body went through a
transformation. Obviously during & after your pregnancy you are going to gain weight and look fat.
What were you like before you had kids? Were you fit? Active? What was your body fat %? Since you are military my guess is you were at least in relatively good shape. You also probably have good muscle memory. Women who were fat, out of shape & sedentary before they had kids should not expect these results, unless they put forth tremendous effort.

I have been out of the military for 7 years, so no muscle memory there. After my first baby was born, I lost weight, but my body fat still hovered at 21%..i.e. flabby but skinny. After my 2nd baby, I couldn't lose the weight at all. The pic with the blue dress my baby was already 3 months old. Even months after that I was still 150-160 lbs at 5"4. People have done this program REALLY out of shape, and have put forth alot of effort and attained similar results, or better!
