Illidan was assigned a 10,000 year sentence for making a pact with Sargeras himself after becoming jealous of Malfurion's rising power as a druid, and the taking of his love, Tyrande. He gained demonic power and thus became a tool to Sargeras' plans of destruction and conquest, basically betraying his people, and all of Azeroth. Thus becoming known as the "Betrayer".

@M4N451995 As a side note though, the Blood Elves leaving of the alliance was due to the racism and ineptitude of Lord Garithos, and Arthas did indeed betray his own people. Arthas' betrayal though was more due to the dark temptation the original Lich King was bestowing upon him.

Garrosh as a very militant, but not incapable leader. His visions of the Horde closely relate to how the Orcs were when they first arrived from Draenor, brutal and unrelenting.

If anything the closest to Muslims in general you going to get in the game are night elves, they constantly use common Muslim phrases (peace be upon you), language very obviously based on Semitic languages, use Muslim symbols (crescent moons and stars for example), worship only one god (Elune) etc etc... But then again, it's only a game....

Truth is - both the Alliance and Horde are weak imitations. With only one human nation(not counting the gilneans) and remnants of the other races the Alliance is nowhere near being as powerful as the former one. Same goes for Horde. The orcs of Orgrimmar are children of Frostwolf Clan. A weak, lesser clan of the true Horde. followed by a handful of Arthas' unloved children, almost wiped tribe of trolls and few united clans of savage tauren. Plus few goblin survivors and broken, sad elf nation.
