  • Congratulations Thomas. You gave us some of the most memorable fights in boxing history and inclusion into the Hall of Fame was a no-brainer. Well deserved.

  • Hitman Hearns! Such a unique look in the ring. The incredible right hand, the great handspeed coupled with the long, snaky snap-jab. Motor City Cobra--and definite Hall of Famer!!!!

  • I think that Hearns may have been the hardest punching welterweight of all time, and quite possible in the top 10 hardest punchers for a middleweight as well. ... I hope I don't get crucified for my comment lol

  • Intro song please?

  • @01manarmy87 the bridge is over boogie down productions

  • placing the pipino cuevas knockout right when jeru said "it throws off your equilibrium" was genius.

  • nice fucking highlights dude !

  • Can someone tell me the name of the first song please?

  • Look, people are acting like Hearns was this monster at welterweight (147), he was but his prime weight was Light Middleweight (154), at Welterweight he was only 21-22 years old, Leonard was 25 when he fought Hearns, Hearns wasn't fully developed, he lacked stamina, inside fighting, couldn't clinch, no defense and plus he reacted very badly when he was hit. Wilfred Benitez (defensive fighter, former Light Welterweight (140)) vs. Hearns, at 154 (Hearns' prime weight) was a close fight.

  • I really like Tommy Hearns but you have to draw the line when you hear this music if that is what it's called !!! Garbage to me ..

  • @Golfgtiguy Cause you're an idiot who wouldn't know good music if it smacked you in the face. Go listen to your guitars and drum CRAP if you call that "music".

  • @BruhMan85 Each to their own !! Look on the bright side we are both boxing fans ;-)

  • Congrats on Tommy in the World Boxing HOF. The Motor City Cobra wa AWESOME.

  • can someone tell me why hearns n hagler didnt get a rematch?

  • If Hearns had a sturdier (don't know if I spelled that right) chin, he would have tough for ANYONE to beat because of his reach, range, and AWESOME power!

  • I like to think I can take care of myself, but if I was opposite his staredown with Hagler before their epic war you wouldn't see my ass for dust

  • best hitman vid on youtube

    leonard disliked 18 times

  • i love the music on this it goes so well

  • The lightning effect on the Duran knockout was just perfect. Probably healthier for Duran too.

  • Mashiba ! ;D

  • Hearns's younger son is in my class at school :D

  • plus if you are a tyson fan you would know that mayweather has the advantage because he is closer to the ground and has good movement , but it is still a hard 1 cos hearns is the biggest banger !

  • top vid !

  • this was the proper days of boxing when both fighters... in or out fighters just go in for the kill !!! boxing isnt the same these days its way to defensive

  • Back when boxers were real ... It would be good to see how mayweather would have got on with these 4 great boxers from the 80s i dont think the other 3 need named .. Just because its the topic around this youtube lol

The manny v mayweather is long gone past the joke stage they will be old by the time they ever fight if they do . Hearns Hegler Duran & Sugar Ray just fought any time there was a fight to fight and the world watched even the moms lol

  • Comment removed

  • He's a bad motherfucker.

  • Put him in the ring with choose and Thomas would destroy him

  • Tommy who? Floyd just showed the world last night that he can beat any fighter in history.

Tommy would get his ass kicked and KO'd in 6 rounds

  • @cbash69 HAHAHAHAH greatest joke ever. Just by saying "Tommy who?" made anything you say from here on out irrelevant. Get out. If you dont know who Tommy hearns you shouldn't even be declared a boxing fan

  • @POTATER1228 come on put it bitch

  • @cbash69 haha okay. I'll humor you. What do you think would be Floyd's game plan would be against Tommy hearns? What does Money do to beat the Hitman? Go on, be as specific as possible. It'll be a good laugh.

  • @cbash69 "come on put it bitch"

Really? the hell does that mean? You want me to punch you through my computer screen?

But please demonstrate me with your boxing knowledge how does Pretty Boy Floyd beat the hitman? Please tell me in all your boxing knowledge Money Mayweather's fight plan!

  • @POTATER1228 - u can not just say that one fighter cant beat tjhe other every fighter has an advantage over another no matter how short long or big the other one is ..... hearns could fuck him up for eight rounds then get hit with a big one then lights out you just never know until it happens !

  • @wereareyoumarn Yes Anything is possible in the ring. But this is hypothetical, so its never gonna happen. But on paper what can Floyd do? He's a natural lightweight going against a man who made weights Floyd could never dream off making. Floyd is used to being the one with longer reach. Hearns has a 6 inch reach advantage. Floyd likes to outbox people. No one has been able to outbox Tommy hearns, overpower him yes, but not out chess match him. Floyd's power pales in comparison to Tommy

  • @wereareyoumarn and speed is comparable to the two. The thing is though speed wouldnt matter for Floyd jsut for the reach disadvantage. Tommy hearns fought in 15 round fights. If they fought they'd fight 12 rounds to be fair, and Tommy only got REALLY tired in the 13-15 rounds. Floyd is barely 5ft 8. Tommy was 6ft 1 bordering 6ft 2. Virtually every advantage goes to Tommy. If Tommy could decision Wilfredo Benitez who was a larger, more alert version of Floyd, hitman can handle PBF

  • @POTATER1228 i understand what u r trying 2 say but you can never judge a fight before it happens cos thats where the styles clash mayweather would have to be really alert and step in deal some damage then step back out !! but then theres hearns's advantage cos then he has the reach and wouldnt allow mayweather to step back out so easily so it is a hard one !

  • @POTATER1228 Lets not forget the ass whooping Floyd put on an undefeated Corrales, who was another tall and powerfull fighter. I wouldn't put Corrales in Hearns' league, but I'm just making a point that Floyd has shown he can handle taller guys. Floyd is 5'8" but he has a 72 inch(6 foot wingspan) just 2 inches shorter than Leonards 74 inch wingpan. I think if they fought 10 times Hearns would win 7(maybe 2 or 3 by ko). But Floyd definately has the tools to decision Hearns.

  • @DDeCouto I dunno. I could See Floyd winning maybe. But that;s a big fat maybe. And Corrals was a natural lightweight and only 5'10. Tommy was 6ft 1 closer to 6ft 2 in height. And could make MUCH higher weight divisons than floyd could hope. Also keep in Mind that Floyd barely makes welterweight, not his prime weight. That is Tommy's best weight. And you CANNOT beat Tommy strictly by boxing him, you have to fight him to beat him like Hagler, Leonard, and Barkely did. Floyd can't do that.

  • @POTATER1228 Well is one of the best conditioned fighters in the history of boxing. As I said if they fought 10 times Hearns probably wins 7 and 2 or 3 by ko. Some people are acting like Hearns would just walk in there and destroy Floyd everytime. Floyd's an execllent defensive fighter and counter puncher. I think the right hand lead would be there for Floyd even against someone as big as Hearns. He definately has the tools to decision Hearns. Manny on the other hand would get his head taken off

  • @DDeCouto Yeah, as much as I like Pacquiao it's a matter of size and style. PAcquiao is made for Hearns. It'll be a massacre like Hearns vs Duran. Honestly though if Floyd's chin was ever a question it would be tested againt the Hitman.

  • @POTATER1228 Yeah we don't know much abouts Floyd chin because he hasn't got hit much. But he responded well against Mosley. Mayweather says he works out his neck alot becuase thats the shock absorber. Hearns would probably catch Floyd once with a straight right. But as Teddy Atlas would say, Floyd knows how to behave when he gets caught. After all, he's never been knocked down aside from that one fluke where his glove touched the canvas.

  • @DDeCouto I would say his chin is about average from what I've gauged in his overall career. Honestly if Floyd didnt have excellent fundamentals and relied solely on how much his chin could take a la Ali, he'd have been knocked out at least a few times. But also I don't think floyd's ever fought someone with the power of the Hitman. Fast hooks and fast right hands. And no, actually he has been knocked down several times. Judah is the most famous. Another was Carlos Hernandez. And amateurs.

  • @POTATER1228 Those were just loss of balance knock downs. Floyd's never been knocked down from a clean shot. We've only seen him caught clean a hand full of times in his entire career. Hearns' chin has always been suspect, and he actualty has been knocked down and out by guys that also gave up height and reach. Floyd's a better counter puncher anyone he's fought. Leonard was more of in and out fighter, not a pure counter puncher. I can definately see Floyd catching Hearns with a check left hook.

  • @DDeCouto Yeah not the cleanest knockdowns ever but Hernandez and Judah did Knock down Floyd. But Floyd got knocked down really hard back in his Amateur Career by some nameless guys. Forgivable though, everyone has lost and eaten canvas at some point or another. Really though Even IF floyd manages to connect with an odd hook or right there, im not sure if Floyd can get Hearns out of there. Remember Floyd doesnt really flurry that much or sustain attacks. He's more concise than that.

  • @POTATER1228 No I definately don't think Floyd could get Hearns out of there put I think he would decision him 3 or 4 times out of 10. Floyd wasn't a bad puncher at 130 but he lost power when he moved up in weight. He had a 76% ko percentage at 130, but just 33% above 135. Honestly I wish Floyd would have stayed at 130 and fought the Mexican legends like his Uncle did. Mayweather/Morrales, Mayweather/Barerra, and Mayweather/Pacqiauo at 130 would have been great. I like Mayweather in all three.

  • @POTATER1228 I feel that Pretty boy's precise nature might work against him against Tommy. Remember Floyd at Welterweight has mediocre power. Also keep in mind, that Floyd isnt a one-punch knockout guy. (unless you count the Ortiz scandal but let's refrain from such a poisonous subject). For Floyd to REALLY hurt tommy he needs either one punch power or a continous assault. Neither are Floyd qualities. He wears people down. Floyd is either too careful against Hearns and loses a descion or

  • @POTATER1228 I do think Floyd could wear Hearns down. Hearns has a tendanicy to keep his left hand low to lure people into exchanges(which Floyd wouldn't fall for). That's why I see Floyd's signature straight right and lead left being there for him. You can negate the disadvantage of height with great timing, and Floyd has superb timing. As I said before Floyd is one of the best conditioned fighters in the history of boxing, more than capable of fighting an old school 15 rounder.

  • @DDeCouto

If Pacquiao was ever given a chance to beat Mayweather, then certainly Hearns - of all welterweights - should be able to dominate him. Floyd is slick and all, but Hearns just throws that leather like it there's no tomorrow.

  • @MrRoyalFatness Pacquiao isn't given much of a chance by anyone who knows boxing. Size is the main issue here because Floyd is really a lightweight who moved up. If Floyd was a natural welterwight with the same skills, he definately has the tools to decision Hearns.

  • @DDeCouto

He's got the tools. But if you ain't got the punch, Hearns will just keep coming. I'd have my money on Hearns at all times.

  • @MrRoyalFatness Thats why I said "if Floyd was a natural welterweight". Floyd was actaulty a good puncher at lightweight he lost his power when he moved up in weight. Floyd was actaulty regarded as a power puncher coming out of the amatuers. Floyd was 26-0 20 ko's at 130, with 76% ko percentage. Above 135 his ko percentage is just 33%. Hearns' chin has always been suspect, as long as Floyd lands cleanly all night which he's more than capable of, Hearns will be ready to go by the late rounds.

  • @DDeCouto

I don't know, really... I mean, who did Floyd really beat up until this point? A late Oscar de la Hoya, a late Shane Mosley, a faded Arturo Gatti and a late Ricky Hatton. If he beats Pacquiao convincingly, then I might just give him a chance against Hearns.

  • @MrRoyalFatness Well he put an ass whooping on an undeafted Corrales, a prime Zab Judah, decisioned Castillo twice with hand problems, an undefeated Hatton, DLH who was the much bigger man and outweighed Floyd by over 10 pounds on the night of the fight. Marquez who's outboxed Pacqiauo 3 times now. In addition N'dou, Mitchell, Baldomir, Mosley, and Gatti were all good fighters too. On top of all that he's never lost. You don't get ranked the number 1 p4p fighter for a decade for no reason.

  • @MrRoyalFatness Floyd has fought better fighters than Pacquiao over the years. Do not get fooled by the media. Look at who Floyd has fought and look at who Pacquiao has fought.

  • @oomzie500 Let us look. The best guy Floyd ever fought was JLC. A guy that he should be 1-1 against, but was given a decision based on...? To PBF credit, he also beat JLC soundly at least once. Barrera, Morales, and a optimal weight JMM are better than anyone on Floyd's record aside from JLC. If you throw out guys that they have in common, Margarito, Cotto, Clottey, Barrera, and Morales, are at LEAST equal to Corrales, Castillo, Judah, Baldomir and Ortiz.

  • @youngunzvt Don't get me wrong Barrera and Morales were good fighters but they would have been easy fights for floyd simply because they were not fast or smart enough. Morales gave pacquiao problems because he was smarter than pacquiao. Margarito did not have his plaster wrap when he fought pacquaio, cotto was in a dark road against pacquiao because of the beating he suffered at the hands of a cheating Margarito. Corrales beat JLC. JMM was a very easy fight for Mayweather but had a disadvant

  • @oomzie500 They would have been easy fights for Floyd because they were best @122-126lbs. If it comes down to which guy has taken the more dangerous fights, the nod goes to Pac IMO. This isn't really Floyd's fault per se, as Top Rank avoided him for a while, and he only really dodged Paul Williams. Manny was just in a better weight class at the time and had more dangerous fighters around him. So the real question isn't who fought the better guys, its who took more risks.

  • @youngunzvt I see what you are saying but Paul Williams is 6'1 and a lot bigger than Mayweather. Floyd does handpick his opponents but I think if Floyd beats Pacquaio that will furfill his legacy. He has dominated great fighters and made them look ordinary. Bob Arum does not put Pacquiao against "boxers" that he can not beat. The best boxers he has fought are Cotto, Marquez, and Morales. The same goes for Floyd. But I have Floyd beaten Pacquiao because of his technical abilities.

  • @oomzie500 Looks like the fight will be on (according to Roger Mayweather) so we should find out in May.

  • @youngunzvt Manny beat a war-torn Barrera. A weight drained Morrales coming off a loss(after losing to him), and got gift decisions over Marquez. Since moving up to welterweight he's done nothing but beat fighters who have already been dominated.

  • @DDeCouto yeah yeah...And Ali had issues with Norton, and SRL made guys cut weight, and Hearns couldn't beat Hagler/SRL, and Duran was above his weight class, and Floyd handpicked his fights, and DLH was protected, etc. Everyone can be picked apart. Floyd and Manny are no exception.

  • Comment removed

  • @youngunzvt don't listen to that clown couto he doesn't know shit

  • @DDeCouto Prior to Manny moving up to welterweight not a single person on Earth thought Manny had a better resume than Floyd. Which is why Floyd was the unimous p4p king. It's not just who you beat it's how you beat them. Basicaly every fight for Floyd was a walk in the park wheras Manny was having knock down-drag out fights with Marquez(who Floyd dominated). And Floyd's fought the better version of all of their common opponents with the exception of Marquez, so it's not a wash.

  • @DDeCouto I think Floyd will win but I don't know where this idea that Hearns has a suspect chin came from. Just because Hagler knocked him out doesn't mean his chin is suspect!

  • @oomzie500 Hagler, Barkely, and Leonard all ko'd him. If Hearns had Haglers chin he probably would have retired undefeated.

  • @DDeCouto Yea thats true but he had to have an alright chin to move up in weight and still win titles like he did. I agree Haglers chin was incredible and he would have been undefeated if he had his chin.

  • @oomzie500 Well Hearns chin didn't get tested that often. He knew how to use his height and obviously he was as great offensive fighter. The few fights his chin was seriously tested his chin failed the test. To be fair exhaustion proably had alot to do with his ko loss to Leonard, and in war like Hagler/Hearns someobody had to get ko'd. But there's excuse for his ko loss Barkely where Barkely basicaly caught him with one right ad he was done.I would say Hearns had an average chin .

  • @POTATER1228 maybe even charges Hearns, and lacking in physical qualities like power or sustained assaults gets hit by a Hearns hook. Flyod has A LOT against him in this fight. And also Ray Leonard hit much harder than Pretty Boy at Welterweight. Inside or outside Pretty boy is in serious danger. Honestly I think Hearns is like the second worst mordern opponent for Floyd, the first being Aaron "the Hawk" Pryor. thoughts, friend?

  • @POTATER1228 Your right Hearns is probably one of the worst match up for Floyd at welter. But I think Duran would smash Floyd at lightweight. if Floyd had at of problems with Castillo(granted he had hand problems), just imagine what hands of stone would do at his prime weight. Duran took it to Leonard at welterweight for Christ sake. VERY BAD match up for Floyd

  • @cbash69 You my friend know nothing about boxing.......Floyd wouldn't last past the 4th against Hearns....Tommy Hearns is on a different level of competition then floyd...that's like saying Klitschko would clean house against Ali lmao

  • @cbash69

Floyd showed that he can beat anyone by suckerpunching them, huh? Wow, what a fighter. Floyd would get smacked just like his father.

  • @MrRoyalFatness No sucker punch they touched gloves after it all settled Ortiz seemed in shock of what he did still because he never looked like he wanted to attack or defend so he got KO'd .. What was he waiting for another hug ? Its a boxing fight

  • @MrRoyalFatness

It's a fucking sucker punch as long as the referee has not yet told the boxers to resume boxing. Whatever you have to say, I'm afraid I cannot take you seriously, when you are deliberately praising a "boxer" of Mayweather's puny stature. Skilled or not, he was born an asshole, he makes a living like an asshole and he will die an asshole.

  • @cbash69 Hearns would destroy floyd and make him look average....I like floyd too, but i know boxing he would stand no chance

  • @cbash69 Floyd would have handled tommy the same way he handled Antonio Margarito, AVOID HIM. Floyd likes to fight little guys. look what happend when he fought Oscar. Split decision. Floyds good no doubt. But he would have never walked into the same building as Tommy, let alone Ring. oh yeah, Floyd lost to José Luis Castillo in there first fight.

  • whats piano beat anybody know

  • 1:55 Looks like break dancing in the 80s LMAO

  • thomas hearns is my fav boxer he wuld eat mayweather the fuck up mayweather never fought any 1 tall

  • @SnortShroomz90 Diego Corrales?

  • they don't make boxers like that anymore

  • A boxer who was a class of his own.

  • The deadliest 'fro on the planet.

  • that right hand was serious.......... ko

  • if tommy didn't have a slightly weak chin he would have been the greatest ever,as it was he was one of the best ever to watch, very exciting boxer !!

  • A slightly weak chin? Are you completely out of your mind? Have you ever even watched any of Hearns fights, especially those with Sugar Ray Leonard? Well, not to mention how long he was able to hold off a reckless Marvin Hagler with a broken right hand. Tommy had both heart and chin, what the fuck do 3 TKO losses mean, when 2 of them were at the hand of a pair of the best middleweight boxers of all time. Go watch the fights and go figure. Such stupid claims are signs of ignorance.

  • @MrRoyalFatness you watch his fights and listen to the commentators fat bastard

  • @MrRoyalFatness

Who gives a fuck about the commentators? Hearns ate more punches - especially in his big fights - than most boxers will ever dream of being able to. Yes, compared to someone like Hagler (who was arguably one of the hardest middleweights of all time), a man who just never buckled, then yes, Hearns had a suspect chin. Later in his career it took a turn for the worse. But in his prime, Tommy was untouchable, and landing one on his chin only served your own annihilation.

  • @MrRoyalFatness I agree with you the man obviously doesn't watch boxing or know about tommy hearns....

  • Thomas Hearns on who would win between Mayweather and Pacquiao:

"I would say that it would be an awesome fight between the both of them, but I think that Floyd should win the fight. If Floyd does what he's supposed to do, then I think Floyd wins and that he should be victorious.

    (Ring Magazine)

  • @username7212345 Gasp. You mean to tell me that black guy wants other black guy to beat hispanic guy? Daaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmmmmmmnnn.

  • @crowley0312 LMAO Manny isn't hispanic.

  • Thomas Hearns' thoughts on Mayweather:

"Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an excellent fighter. I will give credit where credit is due. I can not take anything away from Floyd Mayweather."

Thomas Hearns on what his strategy would be in a fight against Mayweather:

"Against me, I would have to respect him. I think that he could go the distance with me. I would have to out-think him and definitely out-jab him. He's a shorter man, so he can't get to me.

    (Ring Magazine)

  • @username7212345 I don't think floyd could take a shot from hearns right jab

  • @thefury187 yep only hagler could break hearns hand on his jaw

  • he would dominate UFC

  • What's the name of the first song used.

  • He fought most of his career to light...he was a light heavyweight...bad azz motherF*k4r

  • I think Leonard was scared to give Hearns a rematch at welterweight.

  • This song rocks

  • anyone no the name of the first song

  • @lee1990lee

Boogie Down Productions--The Bridge Is Over was on the intro of the video. Then Jeru The Damaja and Afu Ra--Mental Stamina

  • Comment removed

  • @1SugarRayRobinson1 Get off Ra's dick. Ray probably wins at Middleweight considering Ray was an awesome Middleweight (Hearns did his damage at Welterweight and was a pretty good Middleweight). Hearns would get a decision. I don't see him KOing Ray. But if I had to pick a winner, it be Ray in 7.

  • I would love to see this guy KO pacroid and gayweather

  • Hearns had it all. Power, body type, technique, speed, he could box or brawl and he had some real smarts when he was in the ring.

  • If Tommy were boxing today in his prime, he would no doubt be the undisputed welterweight champ. Floyd is a great boxer, don't get me wrong, but Tommy was way too tall, fast, and strong for Mayweather. I think it would be a total mismatch. Sure, Floyd could make him miss, but he wouldn't ever get a decent punch on Tommy cause of his height and that devastating right hand would keep Floyd off

  • Pound for pound one of the hardest punchers and most exciting fighters of all time. How many bad or boring fights has this guy been involved in? Respect to the Original Hitman...........thanks for the memories Tommy.

  • Pacquiao is a great fighter in a weak time of not so great fighters. Same with Mayweather. Both of those fighters would of had a tough time back then. I would have LOVED to see both Roy Jones and Hearns fight each other in their prime. That is my dream fight.

  • One of the most vicious right hooks ive ever seen from a boxer I miss boxing like this

  • i miss the days when people were not concerned about who's the best pound for pound fighter but rather who can hit hard hard and knock a guy out. this guy hit harder than them all

  • @1966boy Tommy hit hard but the hardest in that weight division was John "The Beast" Mugabi

  • @MRPric3LEss oh yeah, that dude, knocked mike gonzales spark out. he had good agility, better dodger than he was with his foot work

  • awesome vid awsome man

  • He was awesome

  • GOAT IN MY EYES.

  • Nice vid, some good tunes too, better than all this lil wayne shit.

  • Legend

  • EVERYBODY stop the vid @1:16. Epic...

  • heavyweight power and a sketchy awkward style packed in a 165 pounder... dangerous

  • I can't believe 17 people have disliked this video

  • Tommy would have made clean house at 147 154 and 160..

Pacquiao, Mayweather, Cotto, Sturm and Martinez.. Hearns well KO all of them..

  • @prayforme111 i dont think so since boxing right now is more advance....i think herns wont be able to beat pacquai at the same weight
