  • Better than VH. True.

  • Buckethead is badass but frankly I don't give a shit that he can play Eddie's stuff with his dick. Has bucket ever recorded anything anyone wants to cover? EVH is a Legend!!!!

  • @urberstud to be honest yes Buckethead has written many songs people would love to cover. I'd do anything to be able to play just one of his songs, and I'm much rather play Buckethead than Van Halen.

  • buckethead's alternate picking is so badass!!!!

  • that is true jumper1294........

  • can buckethead play a 10:00 mins solo ..??

  • @grabber691 hes played a 21 minute solo check his new album

  • @Bl00dsnake .. ok ..

  • @Bl00dsnake What is the album called?

  • @grabber691 no, he can play 2hr solos doe.

  • why is he turned around? hes probably not playing it

  • @jumper1294 eddie back in the day use to play this with his back to the crowd. maybe he's copying what eddie use to do, you can tell its not recorded because some of the bends and hammers ons are not exactly perfect.

  • @jumper1294 Do you know ho are you insulting? It's Buckethead, he would play that with his dick if wanted to.

  • bet buckethead played the tapping part with one hand only

  • Boy, that was longest crap I took. I am amazed by the epicness

  • lol! i'm watching Secret Recipe at this moment and, well, today the singer is bigger than ever!!!

    great! love them!!!

  • the fat guy is awesome!!

  • And the sad thing about it, is that's the best cover on YouTube.

  • @DistortedV12 What's even sadder is that it's easy to Buckethead.

  • Call me strange ... but when I see a guy playing with a bucket on his head & a kabokki(however the H you spell it)mask... I'm like ... gee wouldnt it be trippy if it was a different Guy under there everytime? Say like, Eddie VH once, & Satch once, and Synester once, & Dimebag or some guy we thought was dead once. Then I think, HEY "I" can't afford KFC but maybe a bucket of Popeyes Chicken & I could play on utube. Then rent my bucket to other Crappy players & we could be the Anti-buckethead ?!

  • Guthrie Govin with a mask

  • fat cunt he ate all the pies

  • Is he pregnant?

  • Dude for a fat dude with a tiny guitar that was pretty f***in metal

  • @JEASTGuitar Jeast i really get what you have been saying and i agree with you, i consider BH in the same league, but about Synister even though i like A7X, BH songs are better imo. About the other yt users try to read the whole conversation ffs.

  • @rafaelsbedroom Im not even sure how i got the word pureprotea there, im not sure what it means and i dont remember writing it

  • Maximum Bob looks like Tank Abbott.

  • Sorry guys i couldnt get onto my youtube but to all you people asking why i watch this and stuff its caus i saw the word eruption and also pureprotea, stfu if you would of been here earlier and read the conversation you would understand

Please keep your stupid comment to yourself

  • I love how people use this video against him.. hasn't everyone who ever picked up a guitar covered Van Halen?

  • @JEASTGuitar you know gnr played for bucket head and slash played for gnr and in fact slash and bucket head arent even playing the same kind of music so there is no reason to compare, bucjet head is god of the guitar for his genre and that goes for the other artist too. so first get you facts striaght bitch!!!

  • Take a look at Dweezil Zappa doing it, thats how you do it zinger meal..

  • I meant 0:39

  • The red neck is taking a shit at 0:46 his bowels must have erupted, dont panic Eddie.

  • Betcha he can't play "My Dog Has Fleas".

  • man, say what you want, I will never considere him a great musician.

speed? technics? theses are impressive, and important to a player.

but the MOST important he don't have.

  • @dyrendyren and what are these most important qualities that buckethead doesnt have? hear "soothsayer", hear "for mom", hear "night of the slunk", hear "jordan", please explain how these songs aren't masterpieces

  • Wow did Eddie ever leave a legacy with his guitar playing way back....It's like he reinvented the guitar.......

  • Buckethead could be the best guitarist ever lived! People like Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Jimmy Page can only dream about being as great as Buckethead

  • @JEASTGuitar Anyone that compares Synyster Gates alongside Jimi Hendrix is just asking to be maimed. Best pack your things and leave, A7X fag. We definitely don't need your bigotry here, and I'm sure Buckethead doesn't need you to tell him whether or not he's good at what he does.

  • buckethead is crazy!"

  • Buckethead is a freakin genious

  • @tofumunky Hate to be an ass...........you've misspelled "genius". :)

  • hehe!

  • Betcha he can't play "Smoke on The Water"

  • @rallyivan1234 anyone can play that

  • @chandlerc09 Someone who does not know sarcasm ¬ ¬

  • @chandlerc09 i m not : l

  • @rallyivan1234 ....i betcha he can do that with his dick...

  • @rallyivan1234 CHALLENGE!!!

  • @rallyivan1234 That would be funny lol

  • wow tank abbott sure did make that guitar look small

  • Buckethead's songs take a lot of listens before you can really appreciate them. I understand why some people might doubt his greatness.

  • @lowlypeasant

I guess so, but I think the same goes for most guitarists.

  • @JEASTGuitar I think you need to listen to more Buckethead songs perhaps because for me and lots of other people he blows those other guitarists out the water

  • @Bucketheadhead Technique-wise, he's great. But you could put 1000 Bucketheads in a room for 100 years and they could never write Eruption or Unchained or Atomic Punk.

  • @skrason I know, they'd write better

  • @skrason

Thank you. A good guitarist can play other peoples songs and solo's but a great and legendary guitarist can write solos

  • @skrason Same goes for the other way around. Put 1000 Van Halens in a room for 100 years and they'd never write anything Buckethead has ever written. Same goes for ALL artists. Put 10 different guitarists/musicians in 10 different rooms in sets of 1000 for 100 years and I'm sure none of them would write material even remotely similar to each other. Everyone has something different to contribute. I suggest you stop looking for the next Eruption solo and just enjoy what other people have to offer.

  • @Bucketheadhead

He is a good guitarist I will admit that. But the way people talk about him to me sounds like he is better than Van Halen himself. I wouldn't put him in my top 10 guitarists. Maybe top 50 but I don't see what is so great about him. I have seen many guitarists just as good as him even better. Buckethead just doesn't appeal to me.

  • @Bucketheadhead even Jimi Hendrix and Page can not play as fast as buckethead so clear and Slash really cant do anything unless its repetitive thats why they replaced slash in Chinese Democracy...

  • @Bucketheadhead ....Exactly, he is an awesome autistic guitarist, but as a musician he's boring to death, even Maria Carey is musically more interesting.

  • @F3FisGoodforYou ....if you say so...and he's not autisitc lol, outside of his Buckethead persona Brian Carroll is a normal guy like you or me who doesn't like media attention

  • @JEASTGuitar

Yeah, sure lol. Synyster Gates, what a joke. He is a great guitarist, but Buckethead is a god. I suggest you check out his massive discography and I also suggest looking up how many songs led zeppelin stole. Only one song off of their first album was original. The rest were rip-offs. Page has never played an original note in his life.

  • @Fluffypopcicle

The reason I like Synyster Gates is because I think he likes to venture out on solos and not always do that same things. Jimmy Page is one of the greatest of all time. He will die a legend. Not everybody has heard of Buckethead, but everybody knows Jimmy Page or if not Led Zepplin.I only found Buckethead through Guns N Roses because of Slash. Buckethead won't even reach Slash's amount of fame. Go out and listen to Van Halen and compare Eddie to Buckethead

  • @JEASTGuitar

Oh yeah, because fame matters so much. The more fame you have the better you are, it all makes sense now. That's why justin bieber is the most talented person to ever pick up the guitar!

  • @Fluffypopcicle

I started pissing myself laughing when you said that.

Good point, but the fame they have came with the skill they have used. I think Page and Eddie deserve the fame they have. They've made a band and they brought it to the top, where as Justin was discovered by somebody already famous and then took it from there without going through the hard work. Back onto the point is that Buckethead couldn't write something like Eruption, he might be able to play it, but he couldn't write it

  • @JEASTGuitar

Buckethead plays over 20 different styles of guitar music, it doesn't matter if he he can't write an Eddie Van Halen style instrumental he is the most diverse guitarist of all time. Do you have any idea how many incredibly skilled guitarists are still underground and how many worthless pieces of trash get a shit-load of attention? Led zeppelin got famous by ripping off songs. Even stairway to heaven was a rip-off.

  • @JEASTGuitar

Continuing: Eddie got famous because of his skill, but there were even more skilled guitarists from his time that got little to n fame. Even Eddie has admitted that Allan Holdsworth did with one hand what Eddie did with 2. Frank Gambale invented sweep picking and is a highly advanced player musically and technically, but he hardly gets any attention. almost all the virtuosos of today swear that Shawn Lane is the God of technical playing, but he died underground. R.I.P. Shawn Lane.

    Btw

You posted that alot and alot of it was marked as spam. You posted this like 20 times hahahahahah

And if you get this message first I sent you another one with an actual reply on it hahahaha

    =)

  • @JEASTGuitar

It kept on saying "error" and I thought it didn't post. There is plenty of Buckethead songs to listen to if you ever want to. He has done more than 5x all the guitarists mentioned besides him so far combined, his discography is ENORMOUS!!! To each his own though.

  • @Fluffypopcicle

I guess you are right, but in the end. It's all in our own opinion. I don't listen to much of Buckethead so maybe that influences my opinion of him, where as I always listen to Van Halen and bands like that because I am so into the 80's and am jealous of the music I missed out on because I was born in 97 =\. Maybe if I listened to him abit more he might appeal to me, but for now my opinion of him is unchanged

  • @JEASTGuitar Really? It doesn't matter if you're a fan of him, but if anything, he is UNDERGROUND! Yeah, the guitarist society knows him, but everyone knows Slash, Van Halen, Hendix, etc. But this guy is among the elite. I could guarantee you that none of those guitarists could play what Buckethead plays. Buckethead has WAY more speed and percision. As a guitarist I know this. Buckethead, Shawn Lane, and Tosin Abasi are all guitarists way better than the ones prior.

  • @StopRunningKid

Better than Jimi Hendrix himself. Really!?! The world's greatest guitarist who died at the age of 27. He began playing guitar at age 15. That means he only played for 12 years in which he played better than anyone. Most guitarist have been playing for 30 or more years and will never get close to be able to do what he did.

Buckethead maybe among the elite but Hendrix is the King, the Leader, The God of them. Guitar skill isn't all about speed, But Jimi would still destroy them.

  • @JEASTGuitar Haha, no, than you have never played a guitar. Hendrix was indeed a good guitarist with a revolutionary sound, but people confuse his unique sound for guitar skills. Hendrix would not even come close to the speed of modern day guitarists. Does that mean he wasn't a great guitarist? No. Does that mean he didn't revolutionize the sound of rock? No. He was a ground breaker, but he just didn't play anywhere close to as fast as these others. Hendrix just.... got famous from his sound.

  • @StopRunningKid

Actually, I do play guitar. I've played for 4 years and practice 3 hours or more a day. I havn't played for long but it's let me recognise guitar skill. Jimi Hendrix was one of the most influential guitarists of all time. He could go fast as well if he wanted to. I've seen interviews where he has gone crazy on the guitar. But what I think some people don't understand is guitar skill isn't all about speed, it's about the sound you produce. I could play a hundred random notes

  • @StopRunningKid

Continuing from last post: I could play 100 notes really quick but the notes I pick are what determines the sound and how good it is. I might play 1000 notes in 1 minute but if they don't sound good, it's all worthless.

  • @JEASTGuitar well, anyone could, but that argument is kind of irrelevant. I don't believe that speed makes a great guitarist, but to make that kind of comparison is leaving out quite a bit. These guitarists don't just play 1000 notes a minute, but practice technique to play them in scale, time, and in awesome patterns. That's the challenging part. That takes a phenomenal amount of time and practice. These artists fit them and make them flow. They also play several skillful melodies.

  • @StopRunningKid

I guess so. But I think Buckethead also wastes his talent. He could spend more time playing his music and touring and practicing. But instead he plays stuff like the power rangers theme song!?!?! Why would he even bother.

  • @JEASTGuitar Dude, just because you haven't checked up on his stuff doesn't mean he isn't writing. He literally releases an album like once every two months. Not even joking. He has released over 225 albums since 1991

  • @StopRunningKid

Yes but some of it just sounds the same to me. Like jordan and one of his songs with the double headed man, i forget which one.

I like the solo in jordan but most of the song just sounds the same to me. Another thing that I find weird is why is his persona being raised by chickens and raising awareness about fast food restraunts kill them. If he really wanted to he could just say that he supports a program about stopping it instead of making a whole persona

  • @JEASTGuitar Well okay, I agree sometimes his music can be a bit repetitive at times, but a lot of it is really great. As for the persona, I guess he just wanted to do that? That, I will never have any judgement on. I mean, my band is a concept band with songs based off of the book I'm writing, and my persona is a wolf anthro. It's just a fun thing to do. It's songs like Floating Graveyard, Binge and Grab, Final Wars, and Sled Ride that just really grab me. Soothsayer is my fav, and he's great.

  • @StopRunningKid

    What is your band called?!?

Put some songs up I would like to hear them. hahaha, I havn't got around to putting any of my songs up myself.

Anyway, I don't understand the idea of a persona, maybe if it's what your doing, making it out of a book i get it but not any other reason. Anyway buckethead is a good guitarist but I just don't see him as good as other people do.

  • @JEASTGuitar My band is called Shards of Humanity. We have some little jams on Youtube, but nothing big yet. Anyway, I just came back from a Buckethead concert last night, and it was the best thing ever. His fingers are somehow even faster live somehow. Persona, it's just a fun thing. I wouldn't think too much into it. But yeah, this guys super cool and friendly. He gave me a toy at the show and I got to touch his guitar. IT WAS AMAZING! Just saying man, he deserves respect as a guitarists.

  • @JEASTGuitar are you serious?

  • @JEASTGuitar you fucking joking? slash and synyster gates shouldnt even be on your list, synyster is all mainstream crap, slash comes a bit closer but not even close to buckethead he admitted it himself. i dont think anyone can be compared to hendrix so dont even mention him, id say that technically buckethead surpasses both page and halen

  • @sovietguitarman

I like that you at least acknowledge Jimi unlike some of the people here. But maybe Buckethead might surpass Synyster Gates, But not Slash, Hendrix or Page. Like i've said so many times before, solo's arn't all about going fast. The sound you make is what matters. If you really think Buckethead is better than all off them you must be young and not really appreciate real music, you must not understand what music is. Or maybe you might not like rock, I don't know.

  • @JEASTGuitar buckethead is valued by his ability to play practically any genre, if u wanna have a real arguement at least bring in steve vai and malmsteen lol

  • @sovietguitarman

    I respect Buckethead for that.

Hahahaha yea we should bring in steve vai, ynfwie and paul.

But I think that Buckethead is equally skilled with Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, but better than Paul Gilbert

And for anyone else reading this large argument/conversation. Don't mistake me for a troller

  • @JEASTGuitar yeah this sounds about right, but i still think that slash is not that good, he writes pretty good songs but even if you look at the songs he composed they are not really that complicated...

  • @sovietguitarman

    Sorry for the late reply.

A good solo does not need to be complicate but Slash has one of my favourite solos. Okay do this, play the song paradise city by guns n roses, skip through the song to 5:11 and listen to the rest.

Come back and tell me that the solo you just heard did not give you more respect and relise how good he can be when he wants to be =).

    Please do this hahaha

  • @JEASTGuitar lol i never slash is bad, hes not, but really i just dont think he really fits in right now because all these guys above are shredding kings. Really i dont like buckethead because of his shredding, the only thing that got me hooked are him mellow or just calm songs like sail on soothsayer or separate sky (solo)

  • @sovietguitarman

Woops i meant Yngwie not ynfwie

  • @JEASTGuitar o yeah.. and paul gilbert too....

  • @JEASTGuitar he is better than slash, jimmy page, as good as eddie van halen, and i never even heard of snypster gates. he maybe new but he rips on guitar and he's a lot better than the originals. mind you i love led zeppelin, Guns'n'Roses, and Van Halen.

  • @oneofanceantproficy

    Hahahaha

The only reason I think that buckethead isn't as good is because the sound he makes when he plays. It's all electrical and Synthed.

Btw Synyster Gates is a great guitarist but he doesn't even compare to Van Halen or that. He is heavy metal hahaha.

But back onto the point, I think Slash is better because I think if he really wanted to he could do what buckethead does and sometimes slow sounds better than fast.

  • @JEASTGuitar synyster gates sucks shit!

  • @Belleraphon100

Okay then. If he is so shit, lets see you do what he does, write music like he does, play like he does. Just because you don't like them or the music doesn't mean they are shit. I havn't even said Buckethead was shit in fact I think he is good but people saying he is better than van halen and stuff is an over exaggeration.

  • Comment removed

  • @JEASTGuitar I wouldn't either. Buckethead is way out of their league.

  • @JEASTGuitar wow, throwing synyster gates in there is laughable. he's not bad by any means, but everything about a7x is overrated as fuck. and yeah, there'll always be people who say those are better simply because they're older or have more feeling. but buckethead can stands toe to toe with basically any guitarists ever.

  • @JEASTGuitar He's as good as Slash or way better and he smokes Eddie. Eddie is a very noisy guitar player. Very tinny. Extremely limited to that whole Hagar pop song bullshit. VH was finished when Joe Satriani came along in 1987. Bucket is not better than Page or Hendrix because he doesn't write music as influential as them. He is also not as good as Steve Vai. He IS a genius shredder but I don't think Zappa would have given him a job.

  • @eqsmooth LOL I cannot believe you. Satr. & Vai are OK players/crap writers. Then to mention Hendrix & Page's creative influence but dis VH, one of the most creative players ever, kills me. Hendrix took a lot from others like Dylan & made it great. Page wrote his own anew. But VH not only writes his own, he can take Great rock songs with one or two guitars already & add a lead line to it for himself that IMPROVES it. Unlike "G3" efforts that usually sound like shit. Imo. (& record buyers.)

  • @JEASTGuitar You cant compare him to those guitarist because they play two completely different types of music. Buckethead is an experimental instrumentalist not a lead or a rhythm guitar player.

  • @rudepolarbear well Bucket plays lead and rythm when he plays in bands, but solo yes he is experimental

  • @JEASTGuitar synyster gates fucking sucks, dont even mention him

  • @JEASTGuitar DUDE IF YOU NOT A FAN WHY THE HELL ARE YOU WATCHING VIDEOS OF HIM??.....YOUR A DUMBASS FOR NOT LIKING HIM WELL THINKING HES GOOD GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE AND GO LISTIN TO YOUR JUSTIN BEIBER BULLSHIT!

    BUCKETHEAD RULEZ!!!!!

  • @JEASTGuitar synyster gates and slash?! you have NO idea what your talking about if you call them the best.

  • @JEASTGuitar Thats why he is in the top 10 of shredders of all time! Please keep your stupid comments to yourself!

  • sucks

  • @txlastrebel i know your probably trolling but come one no one can say Buckethead sux you my not like his music but he for sure does not suck. He is one of the greatest guitarist of all time.

  • @troyessinger you're delusional. Not even close to being one of the best. JMO

  • @txlastrebel well imo he is the greatest and no one even comes close

  • @troyessinger we would need to make "buckethead sucks" an aproval statement, you know, like primus did.

  • @troyessinger He's one of the greatest shredders of all time. But it takes something more to be one of the greatest guitarists of all time.

  • @skrason he does a lot more then shredding have you heard his electric tears album or colma album they show how much range he has

  • 0:32 Go!! Snorlax!!

  • is that the bodyguard dude from the pantera videos???

  • ugh . .it just seems like people are getting faster and faster over time. . . just crazy, i feel so inadequate when i watch all these shredders just playing insanely fast on youtube haha, feels like i need to practice like 10 hours a day . . .probably do . . .

  • Please someone tell me why the bucket? the guy is really good i wonder why he hides behind mask and bucket?

  • @MrAub8 Buckethead wears the bucket and the mask to keep his identity secret. He likes his privacy. He prob wants to live a normal life when he isn't putting on show.

  • He ate half of the original solo, but... GOD IS THIS GOOD !

  • was good but never as good as eddie

  • @LOMAZ5150 Eddie Van Halen VS Buckethead VS Dimebag Darrell VS Slash would be the greatest competition EVER!!

  • @RereAndRerun yeah but not slash he aint that good

  • @LOMAZ5150 Ok we'll exclude Slash. Still it would be the ultimate guitar show ever!!

  • @RereAndRerun yeah

  • @RereAndRerun how bout tom morello?

  • @jackcdempsey oh yea, haha forgot about him doesn't he play for Rage against the machine?

  • @RereAndRerun ya he did, and audioslave. He doesnt play the hardest stuff, but its just amazing what he can do.

  • @LOMAZ5150 -LMAO! eddie can only dream about being as great as Buckethead!

  • @thebehmont1 eddie is beast but michael angelo batio owns every guitarist anyday

  • @LOMAZ5150 -...Except for Buckethead, he's better than Batio (in overall)

  • @thebehmont1 NO!!!! batio pwns buckethead anyday

  • @LOMAZ5150 - Nope, Batio is only faster picker... Buckethead is bettter than him at everything else! Especially at composing and that's one of the most important ones

  • @LOMAZ5150 Except for Guthrie Govan, Shawn Lane, Stephan Forté, Buckethead, Jason Becker!!! LOL

  • that was kinda lame.

  • @LeeB9999 Die.

  • @ScarrletSongs You first.

  • @LeeB9999 Already did, sorry~

  • @ScarrletSongs sorry to hear that. my condolences. I like buckethead I just thought his version of eruption was a bit lame.

  • wheres the other half of it?

  • i dont want to sound like an idiot but what song is he playing in the first 10 seconds before getting into tapping?

  • @62Guitars it's a part of eruption

  • omg he spoke wow.

  • is that fucking tank abbot, hahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • is that really tank abbott?

  • @keithsa41 buckethead's real name is Brian Carroll

  • @Weslo2 I was referring to the MC at the beginning.. thought he might be tank abbot.. thanks

  • @keithsa41 ah my mistake :)

  • @keithsa41 anyways to help out with him, it's Maximum Bob a.k.a Robert Barnum lead singer for Deli Creeps, of which Buckethead played lead guitar

    hope that helps :)

  • Well, I was gonna make a Tank Abbott joke until I realised it really was him.

  • @brokenseatbelt it's not

  • @Weslo2 Yeah, I just read in the description it was Maximum Bob. It does kinda look like him though.

  • Buckthead is Eddie Van Halen

    ausihausiha

  • MAXIMUM BOB!!!!!!!

  • You know why he plays it with his back turned to the audience? Because Eddie used to do that so no one could steal his tricks!

  • i guess playin bread guitar is cool now?

  • i bet he did the tapping part one handed because of his massive hands haha

  • Eddie just got OWNED
