I agree that a lot of religions are nothing but a bunch of myths. But the main reason why so many atheists don't believe in G-D is because; if G-D was real, then why does He allow so many innocent children, women, and men to be brutally raped and murdered by these evil pieces of shits everyday? The best answer to that question is; G-D did not program us to be like robots to do what He wants us to do. Instead He gave us all a free-will, and when we die our souls will go before Him to be judged.

@MetallicThor Son, believe what you wish, fact is, the Jews were polytheists. There are times were El, El-Elyon, YHWH, Elohai, Elohim and others, are seen talking about each other. Are you going to keep denying these facts? Sorry, not possible. All these gods appear in the Ugaritic pantheon, including YHWH. Multiple idols of these gods have been found as well, not only in Israel, but everywhere the Jews lived. The Torah was finished 550 BC, it had already CHANGED through the years!
@MetallicThor That is a LATE Judeo-Christian invention that is grammatically incorrect and unfunded and unreasonable. There are at least 50 references to polytheism, most importantly Deuteronomy 32:8-9. For Yahweh's portion was his people; Jacob was the lot of his inheritance".

I agree with the historical portrayal of Egyptians and agree, that Hollywood has done nothing but insult the achievements of the ancient Egyptian peoples. The Pyramids and great monuments were not built by slaves, but hired workers as civil construction projects.
We think we know more than we actually do. if we could make an animal speak, it would have only a basic understanding of things. why if we are nothing more than animals, think we know so much more? maybe there is somethings our small brains will never understand. we know that the speed of light is constant, is that true for every part of the cosmos? we assume so, but we don't know. why? we have never been. that is the same for our after life as well. we assume more than we know
@nolobrown, so naturally you believe in a celestial dictator with nothing better to do than create people to boss around... after waiting around for most of eternity. It strikes me as ironic that you have no problem believing in the most outrageously absurd nonsense that can be imagined--but find it hard to believe in something as banal as our own evolution by natural selection. The real irony is that as mere machines we actually might one day transcend death. Not so if were gods' marionettes.
@ananiasacts we can go back and forth but the fact is i cant prove that god exist the same way you cant disprove that god exist. we can both come to the skeptical approach of agnosticism. Or could both bring up the same subject and i would say god did it and you would say it was a random roll of the dice. there really is no winners here. if your belief helps you then thank god for that. but i do ask you to approach this with an open mind as i and as famous atheist Anthony Flew did.
@nolobrown: "i cant prove that god exist the same way you cant disprove that god exist." This only proves how unreasonable your perspective and thought processes are. Our beliefs are not symmetric. My claim doesn't need proof. It's not a fantastic claim at all--it's ordinary and trivial. Yours is phenomenally unlikely--fantastically extreme and bizarre and therefore requires EXTRAORDINARY proof that's commensurate with the magic it suggests. You're an asshole for misrepresenting my position.
@ananiasacts Supernatural is defined as beyond the visible observable universe, in the genesis of time or the big bang, the natural order of things came in to being. all of the laws and constants came into existent. before the big bang there wasn't any what we call "natural" or "nature" it all came into being at that point. whatever caused that bang was outside of the natural it was supernatural, that is "fantastically " "EXTRAORDINARY" and beyond science but not beyond God.
This is simply not true. All laws of physics break down at the planck time which is a split second AFTER the initial big bang "inflation" occured. We have no idea what the state of affairs were before that, or how long the singularity was sitting there. Our ignorance of ultimate origins in no way justifies the "magic man did it" hypothesis. This position doesn't get accepted by default. You still have all your work ahead of you to prove it.
@ThePufferFash Simple Logic. Everything that begins to exist has a cause. God is a perfect fit to be the cause for our universe, because He is timeless.
Everything that begins to exist? I assume you are full of examples of things that begin to exist in the same sense that the universe did (coming from nothing, *poof*) Can you kindly name some things for us that "began to exist" in this way? I'm not talking about reconfigurations of preexisting matter, but creation out of nothing, as you believe god made the universe. If you can't give us some examples, your analogy (and argument) falls flat.
The fact that you can string two english words together like "beyond time" does not mean you have made an intelligible statement. To be outside of time means to exist NEVER. Without time, no action is possible. No sequential process of creation is possible without a temporal medium to travel through. The concept of anything existing or happening without time is a logical impossibility.
@bdwilson1000 Well there's no possible way that the universe could have created itself. Just because you can't comprehend something that powerful, doesn't mean it can't exist. In fact everything in science points to God.
All knowledge of physics breaks down a split second AFTER the big bang. We have no way of describing what conditions were like before that. The universe could very well have existed forever in a quantum state..with time curled in on itself. We have no reason to believe there was anything "before" the big bang that "caused" it to happen in the absence of time. For this reason your "magic man did it" idea makes no sense.
Very familiar. As I said, relativity breaks down a split second after the BB. All of Einstein's equations spit out nonsense. This means while they are useful in most situations, they are fundamentally incomplete and incorrect.
@bdwilson1000 And what if Einstein had a theory that was confirmed by another widely accepted belief. One that has been discover recently? Then would one of Einstein's theories be useful?
@TheTrojantroy Okay, I hate to be that arrogant bastard that has to take this course, but stating that God is the cause because his description fits is just ludicrous. If you weren't asserting that he is in fact the initial cause, then I'm sorry. I was asking how you could possibly know that every life comes of birth. Evidence points towards its truth, but what PROOF do you have? You don't have proof, you have evidence and therefore cannot conclude with certainty that you are correct.
@ThePufferFash Wow. I didn't even have to finish my argument. The Spirit of the Lord must have been doing some behind the scenes work. Even if that weren't the case, you are really mature fore admitting that. As to the other statement, no there is no proof. But faith is the opposite of proof, and faith will save us. But faith isn't the opposite of facts. The more we look into the secrets of the universe, the more we see God.
@ThePufferFash And yet, God opens more locks. Yes both sides have a good argument, but at the end of the day, there are still things that science can't explain that can be answered by God.
@TheTrojantroy Indeed, but certainly not the Jewish gods. Ugaritic texts speak of the entire council of gods being called Elohim, which is logical, since Elohim was always a plural word meaning "gods". If you want a better account, look for Zoroastrianism. That is true, pure, rational and scientifical deism; in its original Gathic form, of course. Read the Gathas, you'll find many interesting things.
This is not a question of spirituality. This is a well-made presentation of what basically is the consensus of scholars globally, of how the Torah and the Bible got written - from the very beginning texts that have been changed and manipulated constantly to fit the interests of the people currently in political power, to such an extent that they changed the very foundations of the religion.
I just watched this. Anyone who watches this and continues to believe the bible lore is truly delusional. This video is the literal historic road map of the evolution of modern religion. I have always said that it is clear that man created god, and the author of this video has now given me all the facts I will ever need to support my position. Thanks for this. This bring us together in real ways. Brilliant work!
I am a christian so i cant say i agree with everything said in this video but i am also an artist and i have to say that this video is very well put together, the graphics and editing are great
@nolobrown Just curious...why do you write that as a Christain you can not agree with everything in this video? The video presents just basic historical facts that are not in dispute, so how can you not agree with facts? Isn't that saying you discount historical records in general? I'm just currious becasue I can not counter any of the facts putforth in this presentation becasue it is all verifyable and it the consensu view of all educated folks. Your thoughts?
@GuitarChet Thank You for your response: There is so many new historical facts that get brought to light and so many that get proven wrong over time, There is so much that we cant even explain in our physical world how can we even begin to explain the spiritual? Every person reading this is a human with a mind and a spark of something that is explainable with all our science that we have accumulated over whole of human existence.
@nolobrown, We can explain the "spiritual" the same way we can explain ectoplasm, phlogiston, or karma--human imagination. It's just a stupid idea in search of something that it might explain. Pathetic cowardly assholes too miserable to face their own mortality look for any excuse to avoid facing the reality of death is all. It's fantastically ironic since the one perspective (that we're merely machinery) that actually might lead to our transcendence is ruled out a priori as too demeaning.
@ananiasacts Thank you for your response. I wouldn't worry about life after death right now, I think the real question is the now. death will come to everyone eventually, no need to rush. what is consciousness? what makes us tick and why? these questions are the real questions. I purpose that a "spirit" would make the most rational argument with "God" as the most rational cause. we have to accept that there are some things we will never explain but as people of faith we all have our opinions.
@nolobrown, have you read Dan Dennett's great book "Consciousness Explained?" Or Steven Pinker's very very readable and understandable "How the Mind Works." (the audio book is on YT.) I see nothing but problems with the idea of a spirit..from denigrating the very sanctity of our real lives (can a spirit ever die?) To undermining the study of our own minds. There is simply no reason to presuppose anything magical when we know for a fact that our own bodies totally depend on perfect determinism.
@ananiasacts What is "perfect determinism" Is this a made-for-my-position esoteric term to help suport someone's abstarct thought? Please forgive my ignorance if I should know what this means and do not. Please elucidate! Thanks.
@GuitarChet, All it really means is that our world is deterministic. I threw in the word "perfect" to rule out the possibility of "miracles." We know this to be the case be we ourselves are made of, and totally depend on, the deterministic behavior of staggering numbers of chemical reactions--the deterministic physical properties of matter and energy. Likewise our entire infrastructure--this media we're using right now--is similarly a form of proof that the laws of physics are real--dependable.
@ananiasacts i have not read Dan Dennetts books but i have heard his speak on the subject. my understanding is that his thoughts of consciousness is not that dissimilar to that of a computer "thinking". we are nothing more than animal computers in the eyes of Dennett. i think theres more to humanity than that. we act is if we know more than we really know, call it pride or arrogance. we can only see 5% of space yet we assume as if we know more, and i say the same is for our minds.
It may have been fake, but the Prince of Egypt was a good ass movie, bruh.

@nolobrown unexplainable* :)
