@appstaterebel -- I used to watch TV, that ABC had really tanked when they switched from WGHP to WXLV. Also, FOX had tanked when they switched from WXLV to WGHP, too!! I live in Davidson County. Never forget WGHP 8 NEWS was no. 1 in the past!!
North end of High Point here. WTVD hasn't been a solid in a long time, but we haven't had an outdoor antenna for a long time either (since cable). If I got more ambitious (and I just might, cos everybody needs a hobby), things might be different.
The new FCC maps are loads of fun to look at, btw. WXLV's xmitter moving to Randolph County is a real game changer...especially if you live further west.
Another one of Sinclair's critical screw-ups include WLOS in nearby Asheville... Now, I love the Maury Show, but I refuse to believe that it is more important than severe weather and tornado coverage... That's right... the station chose to continue its broadcast of the Maury Show rather than breaking to severe weather coverage... Meanwhile, WHNS, WSPA and WYFF all did fantastic jobs!!! Sinclair has a reputation of making their stations out to be lazy, irresponsible, arrogant and non-compliant!!!
Well... The name is Sinclair Broadcast Group... But the top guy is Chairman/CEO David D. Smith... The company founded out of WBFF-TV, Baltimore by Julian Sinclair Smith...
And if talking about Maury... Which is more important??? Knowing the father of a baby you don't know... Or taking cover and being safe!!! Now don't get me wrong!!! I love the kids too!!! But sometimes it is a little better to be safe!!!

WSOC's digital signal travels very well 'round my part of the Triad, especially at night. Always good to have a plan B available. :)

I'm so glad people have documented this and that i'm not the only geeky one who wants to see this little bit of history in the making.

Considering the Sinclair Group's history with Nightline, it's very appropriate they threw the kill switch in the middle of it. :)

Yeah, that was supposed to be a Maury joke. No worries, though.
