  • looks lovely! But do we NEED all that salt?!

  • ive tried so many versions of moussaka there all a bit differant the best i like has got peppers in it givs it a nice flavour

  • If you want a lighter version of mousaka you can bake the potatoes and eggplants in the grill instead of frying them.

  • this is good and we say Musakka in Turkey. Turkish and Greek foods are so close :)

  • He is Greek...and CHEF....u shuld nt be laughing at all...let alone Laughing OUT loud

  • Looks delicious . I like the sliced tomatos you added.

  • sliced tomatoes in the moussaka???? LOL you ruined it...also peppers in the meat,we NEVER do that here in Greece

  • ΜΟΥΣΑΚΑΣ ΚΑΙ ΣΟΥΒΛΑΚΙ ΜΙΑ ΖΩΗ ΡΕ!

  • Congratulations! Your recipe looks really delicious. I'll try to do it, but I think it will something "no one" trying to imitate Leonardo da Vinci ... Oh!

  • He says "and just add a little bit of salt" i suggest you say "add a good amount of salt" because thats very misleading

  • @slingerrrrUSA1 Unless you own that marvelous salt shaker, there is no way to determine exactly how much it delivers. It may be less than you think.

  • HALLELUJAH a correct moussaka version on youtube!!!!!!!! THANK YOU FOR SHOWING WHAT A REAL MOUSSAKA IS!

  • @emmaminiepink Thank you for your comment

  • @efcdotcom :]

  • is anyone else ridiculously hungry after watching this?!?! I must try this out!

  • i thought it was with lamb mince. do greeks also use lamb sometimes in this dish? or always beef? thanks. good video.

  • @beccullity Lamb can also be used if you prefer this

  • I towa e dobre. Na men mi haresa.

  • Question; ...why is he using a sharp metal fork in the teflon coated skillet ...with the browning of the potato slices, at first step of video-- I guess Teflonbits in the recipe, is the secret ingredient...

  • Wow cool pepper cracker! But you don't drain the fat from the meat? Yuck!

  • @DickLodge68 The meat was lean there fore didnt require draining.

  • @efcdotcom Even with 90/10, I like to drain any excess and only leave maybe a Tbs or two.

  • please practice your english

  • @belaid12002

    Why should he?

You should practice proper writing (start a sentence with a Capital letter and use Capital letter for English)

  • @belaid12002 greeks dont need to know another language cause they know GREEK so fuck off

  • @belaid12002 Why don't YOU go learn greek? English are so arrogant with their language...

  • @Atheist269 through that bikini bitch on north cyprus ?

  • @Atheist269 because it looks like pizza.

why did they lies? its no pizzas.

  • ok , thanks.

  • Mmmm looks delicious!

  • This looks great!!!! Can you use whole wheat flour instead of white flour?

  • @tradewind7 it is too too tough to make a roux. I ve tried it.

  • @iphone13G a roux is possibly one of the worlds easiest things to make. whole butter melted in a pan on low/med heat. whisk in equal amount of flour. whisk til smooth with heat off or on low low low. 1 oz of butter calls for 1 oz of flour & so on. types- white, blonde, & brown. all depends on amount of time cooked.

  • @paigenacage I know that. But when I tried it it didnt seem to work.

  • does anyone know what I can use instead of wine? I love Italian and Greek recipes, but there's often wine in it and I don't want to incorporate alcohol in anything I eat, so I would be very happy if anyone knew a good substitute.

  • @thayouth Water, some chicken stock or more tomato sauce.

  • @iphone13G,Thanks!!! (f)

  • @thayouth Also even alcohol free wine .

  • @thayouth could try wine vinigar

  • Thank you For your lovely comments Anna Christine X

  • What a lovely, happy chef! Thank you! I'm bringing your recipe to my family's Greek Easter gathering!! :)

  • Did anyone else notice the electric salt & pepper crackers?!!??!?!!?!?

  • @paigenacage ,yeah I want some of that shit. Ive never seen those before.

  • I love how at first your accent sounded a bit Greek and then it developed to a very British accent :D Love this recipe though, found it for a friend who wanted to make it for her Food Tech lesson

  • Wow that looks good! I have to try this recipe!

  • Most chefs are putting way too much salt in their cooking. It's terrible. Sodium pushes up the blood pressure and makes fluid retention in the body. It's also bad for the kidneys, heart, brain, and can produce migraine headaches. I'm extremely sodium sensitive and do not cook with salt. Saltiness is an acquired taste & it's absolutely not necessary to cook with all of that salt. Otherwise the video was very well edited and informative. Thank you.

  • @3AXAP

I agree saltiness is an acquired taste and therefore should always be seasoned to your personal taste.

  • did you pre boil the potatos before you fryed them?

  • @TheDawnydoodles

I did not pre boil the potatoes, they were fried straight on to the hob.

  • Comment removed

  • Were you supposed to add eggs to the bechamel sauce?

  • @redrubymist

I did not add eggs to the bechamel sauce. However, this is optional and if you wanted to added 2 eggs this should be done at the end once the sauce has cooked. Remove the sauce from the hob and stir the eggs in quickly to avoide curdling.

  • @redrubymist Thanks for the tip!

  • @redrubymist Thats optional thanks

  • Very good..! but, tomatoes on the top?? I prefer it without tomatoes...!

  • @yemass6 just pull them aside it gives a nice flavor

  • Awesome.

  • Looks creamy and delish!

  • very nice chef!
