  • Greatest American player of all time

  • @BOOTFUCKER69

i think brian kesler is greatest

  • @tetsuokun I THINK YOU SHOULD SUCK MY NUTS BITCH

  • will be missed

  • I was at that game. I'm a huge Ducks fan, but even I will stand for Mike, even when he put the goal in the net in that shoot out.

  • yzerman modano brett hulll boy the 90s were great

  • its good to see the ducks standing too

  • I cried watching this game

  • hell of a shoot out

  • but he retires a Star, for $999999

  • Mikey Mo = A class act. Greatest American born player in my eyes. #9

  • A class act..did not brag..did not want drama..a team player!!

  • I'm a die hard Stars fan but was rootin' for the Wings in the playoffs because Mo deserved another ring.

  • Greatest American born player, Greatest Dallas Star. You'll be missed Mo, but we enjoyed every second here in Dallas watching you.

  • He should've left after this game.

  • No Dislikes=Perfect

Modano, if you do retire, you'll be missed.

  • This was a sad night even though this is a sad summer knowing the best american goal scorer is retiring:(

  • 3:00 SNIPAH

  • Music in the video or the game is wonderful! Fully 90's!

  • One of the best players of all time. Him and Kevin Stevens will never be forgotten.

  • what a shot

  • I was always the stars in NHL 2004 because Modano was sick.

  • No he didnt retire hes now playing for the Detriot Redwings.

  • No shit I cried like a baby

  • i was watching this game, probably one of my most memorable regular season games. I cried at the end when mo was crying

  • he should have just retired. slap in the face to go to a rival organization like detroit, i think modano should be ashamed of himself

  • He shouldn't join detroit red wings, he should of retire.... good thing hes done with his last year in nhl... that injury really took him down on his last year....

  • i would have rather have seen him retire then go to detroit. still look up to the guy though

  • i would have rather have seen him retire then go to detroit. still look up to the guy though

  • Mo will always be about Minnesota, he will always be remember for Minnesota FIRST. You have a stolen team and a stolen Hall of Fame player.

You are in Dallas ffs, what the hell do you know about hockey??

  • @nrwo2009 sucks to be a bitter fan. Will you root for the Los Angeles Vikings in a couple of years

  • @nrwo2009 How many cups did they win as the North Stars??

    Oh yeah that's right...ZERO.

  • @DeftonesFan867 His heart will always be in Minnesota, you never forget who you were drafted by. Minnesota is the state of hockey you yokel, go to a rodeo.

  • @nrwo2009 That's all you have? Hockey state with no cups and you tell me to go watch a rodeo?

It must be true what Wisconsinites say about Minnesotans then. Southern Canadians.

  • @DeftonesFan867 Minnesota is like Canada when it comes to the sport. Look anywhere if you go there and they are playing Hockey all the time. Hockey is a religion, just like marrying your sister is in Texas.

  • @nrwo2009 Oh Texas jokes. I severely doubted your intelligence after all...

You're a dumbass not only if you think Texas is the "incest" state, and if you think hockey isn't taken seriously down there.

BTW what would make you think I live in Dallas?

  • Fuck Dallas.

  • ok im sorry..... he really should have retired i mean this was the perfect exit... the long standing ovation, the last (and game winning) goal and playing with the same team for 20 years.... instead none of that is happening now and hes gonna exit as just another old man who stayed to long at the party

  • thats sad

    ): modano rocks

  • So Good :) from switzerland :)

  • I'm Dallas Fan because of this now

  • Such a perfect night to end his career with the stars. I cried like a little baby watching this game.

  • so sad....

  • I was at this game, 6 rows back behind Offensive Goal. Awesome game, will go down as one of the best. The fans didn't clear the arena for another 1.5 hrs after the game was over.

  • Last night in Dallas is against Anaheim, First night in Detroit against Anaheim. Hopefully the same result an Anaheim loss with Mike being the hero. Welcome to detroit Mike.

  • hiller was nice he let him score

  • @LucaToni101 lol that was exactly what i was thinking

  • damn...The best player to ever grace dallas is leaving...to none other than the stars most fierce rival. The Detroit Red wings.

Even though it breaks our hearts that you're leaving us Mo, You'll always be a Dallas Star to us! Now go represent in Detroit. We'll see you soon, oh, and you know you'll get a Standing ovation!!

#9 will forevermore be retired on the dallas stars.

P.S Joseph Nieuwendyk is a MORON for not giving hima One contract on dallas so he could finish his career here.

  • @hockeyplaya44 it wasnt entirly his fault Mikey just wanted too much money for a one year contract. just sayin nieuwendyk is working with the stars' shit hole cap room...

  • Comment removed

  • i mean, normally you can barely hear the crowd over the buzzer. this time you could hardly hear the buzzer over us.

  • the AAC has never been louder than after that shootout goal. never

  • We'll miss you, Mike. Dallas won't be the same without you.

  • R.I.P Mike Modano 1970-2010 You will always be remembered.

  • @ChroniquesTremblay13 He's not dead you moron

  • @connord80 hell yeah!! Detroit is gonna kill it this year.. Can't wait.

  • Welcome to Detroit!!!!!

  • @elativ10 He just confirmed the move to Detroit, welcome to Detroit Modano!

  • @connord80 Sad day for hockey when a franchise snus the man who made it everything it was.

  • on his way to detroit

  • I was there!!! GREAT GAME FOR A GREATER PLAYER!

  • As a Red Wings fan I had the privilege of watching him play at least 4 times a year. Great leader, great player, amazing person. Its good to see him get the standing O he deserves

  • im happy that he is leaving the stars because he is talking about joining the red wings. finally. he just needs to decide

  • @soccerfw5 Boo about him going to the wings! haha

  • We Love You Mike.

  • Also I was looking at the draft picks and free agents and it said Mike Modano was a free agent so I don't think he has retired.

  • @connord80 Stars arent resinging him so he will probably retire

  • @connord80 no hes looking to play one more season at detroit close to home :)

    (he wants a playoff run)

  • We love you Mike @ Connord80, why didn't you put the goal he scored in this game in the footage...just curious.

  • @MrNiceGuy1422000 I felt like I was forgetting something, sorry about that.

  • retire #9

  • #9. what a fantastic player and great guy. him Tkachuk, scotty Niedermeyer are great guys.

  • imagine working so hard your entire career for one franchise like this classy guy. I remember watching them win the Cup in 3 x OT, my only regret being that I didn't live near Dallas anymore.

I can't imagine how that felt to be overcome by the love of the fans, but I know Mike deserved it. Thanks for all the great years.

  • the stars wont be the same without modano :(

  • I really hope he doesn't retire and he at least stays one more year. :( But he did say he might get the case of the Favreitis.

  • I think i'll hang myself if Mike do retire ... My fav player of all time, you can't go Mo ! Stay !!

  • did he retire ?

  • @BobbleZilla No I don't think he did but he was highly considering it.

  • @connord80 yea i herd he might leave dallas and go to phoenix with tippet :(

  • @BobbleZilla I think he will...I have been close to the Stars organization for a while, and I think that the though of playing with someone else is even a bigger heartache for him then it is us...He LOVES this organization with everything in him

  • I am a Rangers fan but above all a hockey fan. And if you dont respect what Modano has done for the game, for his team in Minnesota and in Dallas, as well as the US Hockey teams he has been on, you know nothing about the game. This guy is all about class and respect.

  • Im Finnish, but i have actively watched Mikes career since 2003, and he has been my favorite player along with Peter Bondra. Mike please, keep playing! And if his number will not be retired, i never watch hockey again.

  • I was at that game and i have been watching Mo ever since. I can't imagine the stars without him. he is an american hero. My favorite thing about Mo is that after 20 years he is still very humble. He is a what other sports players should try to be.

  • Greatest American hockey player for sure

  • every time I watch this I tear up, I was at that game.

  • im from dallas, and i cant see mike leaving, i have grown up watching him play and he gave alot to stay with us after the lockout, he has one more season left in him

  • That's incredible.... what a great career he's had. That ovation was amazing.

  • omg big up to Mike and all the Dallas fans from Finland, this is almost touching!

  • Great Fans in Dallas

  • everytime i see this video i get choked up. this is why hockey is such an amazing sport. modano is a beast man. what an astonishing player. when it shows him crying is when it hits you

  • MODANO <3 my childhood hero!

  • newfouldland will miss modano ONE MORE YEAR MO

  • Mike Modano... My first idol... This is a amazing player and a amazing guy... Thank you for the big career Mike!

    from a Montreal Canadiens fan.

  • I had the honor of being at the game last night and I will say it was great to witness such a fitting tribute. In a day when too many over-confident, cocky athletes get too much attention, there are few like Mo that do their talking with performance and true appreciation. True to my point, after getting his ovation, Mo went out and tipped in the game-tying goal and put in the game-winning SO winner. It was as if to say, "Thanks back to you!" Mo, you are a true sports role model.

  • I was at this game last night. It is gonna be the most memoraqble game ever for me. Mike Modano is one of the best hockey players i know and an amazing Dallas Star. I will miss him so much. I saw him cry twice lat night and i among many cried right with him :)

  • great hockey player. good job modano. we all love you, man. i have enjoyed watching you throughout your career.

  • wow that was a great honor to him, i'm not the biggest stars fan but its so sad to see finally retiring, one of the best american players ever.

  • I watched Trevor Linden's last game, too bad he didn't score.

  • @connord80 I think Mike Modano is a better player than Trevor Linden, I mean this dude is still a 20 goal scorer and i think there is still alot of hockey left for him

  • @Rorensu Yes, he looks like a great goal scorer and he has a lot of hockey left in him.

  • @Rorensu hard one to say there. i think the great thing about both miike modano and trevor linden is they were 2 of the classiest players in the game and drafted side by side together. i wish trevor was able to keep going and get a cup. but modano had a great career, and it wont be long until #9 is in the rafters.

  • I am a Vancouver Canuck fan and it was hard seeing Trevor Linden play his last game and like I said to TL "TL so long you will be missed in the hockey world" same gos for Mike the best Dallas Star ever and the best born U.S.A. hockey player ever

  • Mike Modano: Classiest hockey player ever!!!!

  • Mike your a true leader. Dont stop being who you are. On or off the Ice. We love you.
