I´m really looking foward to this MMO, especially because it has an eastern developer from Korea. They have a totally different mindset to graphic design and always awesome animations with fighting game style combat mechanics. Can't decide which game I like better out of this and Blade and Soul. Blade and Soul is ALOT more versatile than this game in terms of platforming and gameplay, but the creator in B&S looks to be shit so far. Also though the move set in B&S is more fancy, I think I like the hit animations in TERA better. Just the fact that no matter how big the opponent is you can still knock them on their ass with a giant swing without killing them is just badass. Usually enemies just stand until they die.

@Bonziibomb you can customize the face, hair and skin color of the character it has sliders like aion not that many but it got a nice amount but you cant customize the size or the character's proportions

Each race has 2 sexes except the baraka, customization is HUGE, bigger then in any game ive ever seen, there are about 15 hairstyles to choose from per race/sex, 20 different skin tones, 20 different hair colors, 20 different faces which each have about 5 to 20 customizable feutures like make-up, facial hair scars, eye color and tattoos, and facial grid sliders.

@lokiloni as far as I saw in videos and on the webpage, there are no different factions (it's called faction, not race :P in Aion there are 2 races: Human and Balaur... Asmodae, Elisea, Balaurea are 3 different FACTIONS)

This game just looks great I just hope it plays as great. Something Aion Failed at.
Only disappointment so far with this out of all its epicness is what the devs are saying about the healer role and how vital it is, I hate the healers(small % of players ) being the crutch that everybody needs to get around.

@EBTcraft15 If not for Tolkien, we wouldn't have strong, powerful elves in modern gaming and literature at all. He brought that kind of idea back from the death. In his time elves were nothing more than brownies or pixies thanks to Shakespeare. @Elentaurel I was complaining about almost everyone adhering only to Tolkiens idea of an elf as the extremely gracious, intelligent, artistic, snobish and borderline androginous (If it wasn't for the oversexualized female models you could mistake TERAs male high elven model for a girl with small breasts) magical nigh immortal creatures. It just gets boring to see everyone going for the same trope.
@EBTcraft15 However, many people, myself included, find that kind of creature (androgynous, gracious) to be very attractive, hence their popularity! I don't play WoW, but I understand their male elves aren't Tolkien-like at all (big, brooding, ect). If you don't like the Tolkien idea of elves, feel free to create your own ideas, drawings, ect. I think what you're really complaining about is feminine masculinity, which is actually quite underrepresented (and maligned) in the West.
@EBTcraft15 I also wish to note that it's a bit odd to complain about male Elves being drawn as "feminine" or androgynous. That is how Elves have almost always been depicted. (Lets ignore Shakespeare and the confusion between elves/fairies!) In ancient times Elves were thought of as a divine race of beings, like gods or spirits. They also became associated with angels, who have also been thought of as both male and female, i.e androgynous. This is the Elves conceptual lineage.
@Elentaurel Well i can only write my opinions on the matter :) and i gave the NE for an example to underline my point (also check out the elves from DIsciples 2 and from Dragon Age). Association doesn't mean they get the characteristics of the angels. Also they were described as being extremely beautiful not androginous (in the Norse mithology they phisically resemble humans but have immense beauty) and I have no problems with a bit of femininity in their character but this just too much.

1. Guy whos like the leader and is a rowdy baddass type.
2. His rival who's a strong pretty boy that's kinda broody
3. A love interest for each of them
4. A mascot panda character
5. An ugly strong guy thats oddly compassionate
6. A cute loli girl that is always with the ugly guy (father daughter relationship)
The guild will be called "Every Anime That's Ever Been Made" lol

If Bliz would take some hints from people and make a bit more effort to add things people want it would be fucking amazing. The only reason I don't pay any mind to these games coming out of japan is due to the fact that... "You want this race... it has to be female... you want that race... has to be male..."

@ViperHyper1 ITS a bit more than that as they look like the wow characters,the same cant be said for other mmog like say guild wars or perfect world where none of there character modles look like anything of wows making,the game makers of tera may of made the characters look really good,which they do with the graphics and all but its not a fresh design or idea:~{
They have copyed alot of otherthings from other devolopers,and to say its a fee based mmo at the mo,thats a realy poor job done.

@Himicah No,not at the mo there website says its a fee based arrangement,well for now give it a year and lets see what they say then,given the mighty guild wars 2 is out,THE 1ST MMOG WITH 3D CABABLITYS,thats a buy once then free to play forever:~}.
Also it must be noted there website says its the first true action adventure,where you can cantrol the land in turf wars ect well.....i think perfect world beat them to that,thats all free and really good,and yeah i think abit of copy right -

This game just looks great I just hope it plays as great. Something Aion Failed at.
Only disappointment so far with this out of all its epicness is what the devs are saying about the healer role and how vital it is, I hate the healers(small % of players ) being the crutch that everybody needs to get around.

@Zyxxs Actually there are a few examples where male elves look like men *looks at Disciples 2 elves and *sigh* the night elves from warcraft*....If only they could get away from Tolkiens idea of an elf mixed with way too much estrogen....

@EBTcraft15 If not for Tolkien, we wouldn't have strong, powerful elves in modern gaming and literature at all. He brought that kind of idea back from the death. In his time elves were nothing more than brownies or pixies thanks to Shakespeare. People had forgotten the Elves origin - the old Icelandic/Nordic race of Aelf that were more like gods than anything else. :]

@Elentaurel I was complaining about almost everyone adhering only to Tolkiens idea of an elf as the extremely gracious, intelligent, artistic, snobish and borderline androginous (If it wasn't for the oversexualized female models you could mistake TERAs male high elven model for a girl with small breasts) magical nigh immortal creatures. It just gets boring to see everyone going for the same trope.

@EBTcraft15 However, many people, myself included, find that kind of creature (androgynous, gracious) to be very attractive, hence their popularity! I don't play WoW, but I understand their male elves aren't Tolkien-like at all (big, brooding, ect). If you don't like the Tolkien idea of elves, feel free to create your own ideas, drawings, ect. I think what you're really complaining about is feminine masculinity, which is actually quite underrepresented (and maligned) in the West.

@EBTcraft15 I also wish to note that it's a bit odd to complain about male Elves being drawn as "feminine" or androgynous. That is how Elves have almost always been depicted. (Lets ignore Shakespeare and the confusion between elves/fairies!) In ancient times Elves were thought of as a divine race of beings, like gods or spirits. They also became associated with angels, who have also been thought of as both male and female, i.e androgynous. This is the Elves conceptual lineage.

@Elentaurel Well i can only write my opinions on the matter :) and i gave the NE for an example to underline my point (also check out the elves from DIsciples 2 and from Dragon Age). Association doesn't mean they get the characteristics of the angels. Also they were described as being extremely beautiful not androginous (in the Norse mithology they phisically resemble humans but have immense beauty) and I have no problems with a bit of femininity in their character but this just too much.

Guild Wars is not a korean game, NCSoft is just the publisher of the game, thats like saying Call of Duty is a french game, because Activision is Vevendi. The creators of Guild Wars are ArenaNet, they are a Seattle based company.
