I love Groucho especially from his The Marx Brothers days, but I bet Tor would have been mad enough at 2:10 to have punched /kicked a hole in Groucho's podium then and there and stomped off the set with that nonstop Sweden/Japan routine,

and I really can't say I would have blamed him. Thanks for this historic clip though.

I think a lot of the You Bet Your Lifes were scripted... like the exchange between Tor and Groucho. I find it hard to believe that was just an impromptu conversation.

There are conflicting reports about how much of the show was written and how much was improvised. Most likely it was variable.

Supposedly, there were writers to write lines for the guests so Groucho wouldn't have to hold up the whole show himself every day.
