  • The high drama of being a working mother, wife, and student. Looks like way too much work to me.

  • I'm only 27 and i can totally relate, i've been married seven years with two kids a full time job and recently went back to school and its hard. This video make me feel a little more hopeful for tomorrow.

  • sister, you would think of something witty like the blow dryer, looks like you spent some thought on that paper, big sisters, makes me smile

  • i love it

  • Absolutely love this song! I was a teen mom and married at 24. I have been in college for the past 3 years and in three weeks will graduate with my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Forensic Psychology. I don't think this song is so much about her wanting to leave her husband or her life. It's about the fact that she married and had children young and any mommy, wife and college student probably feels this way from time to time. I know I have.

  • Reba's husband in this vid is the singer from Huey lewis and the news. ....Just thought yall like to know.

  • @auburnboy141 I was just going to ask whether or not that was Huey Lewis! Thanks!

  • @nodlon20 Np!

  • I really like this song. However, until I saw the video I was sure that the song was about a wife and mother who wanted to cheat on her husband. Anyone else thought that before seeing the video?

  • I so often wonder the same question!

  • @valarie966 I think originally it was, but I think she's wanting it to be more "family" oriented now.

  • i love her voice

  • Me and her are from the same state!!!! WE'RE BOTH OKIES!!! WOO HOO

  • was she wearing a new mexico state sweatshirt??? go Reba! represent!

  • This reminds me of when I was kid, living with my mom and my sisters at my grandparent's house. It was small and run-down, but my parents separated and my mom didn't have the experience find a job with wages to support four children. She went to school and worked part-time doing odd jobs until she graduated, but I never fully appreciated that struggle until I got older. Hearing this song again after so many years, it reminded me of how proud I am of what she did and showed me I could do too.

  • I am 21 with two kids, and married I got married when I was 20, right after my secound child was born. I have went back to school three times now. And have stoped because i fealt that I was not giveing my family my all. I was working going to school and trying to keep dinners cooked, laundy done and house clean. Its a really hard thing to do. I dont know if I am ever going to be the nurse that I want to be. And somedays I wonder if i made the worng choose to have a family so young.

  • @Loveisnotalwaysalie

I am 29 years old just stopped school for a few years I have 3 children 6, 2, and 9 months I am going to go back to school when my 2 year old starts kindergarten. I understand where you are coming from; but don't give up on your family or school EVER! Some times life throws you a curve just go with the flow; Go back to school part time you have a full time life, but don't give up. I have a house chores kids family; I am going back to school part time that is what I have.

  • This song makes me cry so much. B/c I've lived my life in fear of crossing lines and hurting others. I'm 22 years old and I'm just now getting into college again. B/c I put my family first b4 myself. My family being just me and my mom who is now gone. So I'm on my own.

  • I am a 24 year old college student and listening to this song and looking back at everything my mother did for me I see how much of her life she gave up for me. I just hope that I can give back to her as much as she has given to me over the years. I don't care how old I get I will admit I love my Mom, I am a Moms Boy, and I still hug and kiss my mother and tell her I love her everyday.

  • I don't think I've ever cried through an entire video before, but I did on this one. This was me--even down to the English major and the godsend of an amazing husband--and this May I walked down the aisle one last time to receive my Ph.D. It can be done...with a family, with a job, with a tight budget, but always, only with God. "Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Philippians 3:13-14

  • sometimes you just need time and its wonderful when you have someone who understands, thank you honey for that

  • this song really tells about my life..

  • i love this song:)

  • i love rebas music vidios because they always come with a story

  • how totally cool is it that the man playing Reba's husband is the one and only Huey Lewis

  • @Elyoril I've watched this video millions of time and just noticed that myself I think it's pretty cool

  • i cry every single time reba cries

  • Courage doesn't always roar.

Sometimes courage is the quiet voice end of the day saying,

    I will try again tomorrow.

if you have little bit of that courage than you can do it.

  • why wouldnt that jerk give her the tip? WHAT AN A-HOLE!!!!!!

  • "Get the Phone!" "I'm OFF!" answers anyway

  • Reba has always made a huge impression on me even now when i listen to rock mainly and dub step, I will always have a place for Reba. She's the reason my hair has been redder then it already is since 5th grade 13 years or so? :)

  • This song reminds me of my mother , she told me once that she thought this song as about me and my life , I miss her soo much !!! I hope that she is proud of the way that I turned out . I love you mom

  • Young people might not be able to relate to the feeling of anger & frustration in this video from 1991.

This is BEFORE the advent of the commonplace PC in the home... I'm sure she had typed the paper on a typewriter, and once it had something spilled on it by the kids playing around in the kitchen, it felt like the end of the world when the 1 copy of her paper was soaked. So touching seeing her loving & supportive husband using the blow dryer to "fix" it... so sweet!

  • @lindalucys2004

You are correct and when you see her before the part they spill the drink on the paper, you can see her take the paper from a typewriter. Good call Linda :)

  • @jpizzle1223

Thanks JPizzle 1223. Love Reba and my sister does too. She surprised me with a weekend in Vegas for a concert to see REBA at LV Hilton back in Jun '06... FRONT ROW CENTER!!

When Reba began to sing the SISTERS song with video of her and her sister's behind... and she was looking out to the audience singing... she saw my sister and me, pointed at us, then pointed at herself and the video behind her of her sisters, had a big smile on her face & my SISTER and I were so thrilled!

  • @lindalucys2004 oh trust me i understand. you HAVE NO IDEA what it is like to write a five page paper and then have your computer crash after you finish it with absolutely no backup the day before it is fucking due.

  • @lindalucys2004 - how young... the first time I heard this song I was eleven years old and it touched my heart and soul... the second time I was 15 years old... and now that I'm 28 years old I can actually relate to it very much as a mom and college student... no husbands anymore though! great song indeed!

  • Join your local roller derby team. Lol

  • This is my life in this song. I married when I was 20 and i did think i was ready for but i found otherwise later on. I have 2 kids ages 3 and 2. Every lyric in this song is my life in detail.

  • This song reminds me of my mom. She was 22 when I was born, and now I'm eighteen and she'll be graduating from college this winter. ♥

  • I am 25, 2 kids (1YRS and 6yrs) in school. husband in school. doing the best i can but sometimes you wonder!!????

  • awsome

  • My life word for word!!

  • I am 41 and I am a single mother. I will be receiving my AA in Political Science in June 2012. When I see this video I see my life. Thanks Reba for singing my song. It means more thanyou will ever know.

  • @DenaL112

Reba, along with the great singers/songwriters do that. They sing about our lives which somehow helps. Keep up the good work

  • I've seen this video so many times and it brings a tear to my eyes every time!

  • Awwww! :'D

  • Agree with you, the video with the song makes everything very real. I'm crying to now everytime I see this video, absolute love it. My mum told me yesterday about that my dad's mum wanted to become a hairdresser but wasn't allowed to either by her father or her by my granddad. Just now I realized that broke her heart and ruined her life. She didn't get to live her dream. Everyone should get to live their life as they want. That makes me motivated to reach my dreams, not just for me but for her.

  • This song makes me weep every time I watch this. Video makes the song so very real. (and the song made me weep anyway.)

  • AWESOMENESS

  • "I learned more from the stains, than the paper." :) My favorite line in this whole video.

  • Its a dang great song there has to be a great story to a song to make it work this is a rare song cuz there not great there awesome-great-best-everthing!!!!!!!!!! Love u reba! : )

  • I relate to this song

  • My son played Reba son in this video, yes to answer questions, that is Huey Lewis and yes it was filmed at Belmont

  • My mama went back to school but my brother and I were a lot older, he helped her with her algebra and I just tryed not to bother her. He was in high school I was in 5th or so.

  • watch?v=vUG0oyKpxOg

    B&B & Reba

  • Aint that the guy from Huey Luis and the news?

  • A few years back this song came on the radio as I drove down the road with my (x)husband. We married young, kids and work nothing I ever did was good enough for him. As we drove and I listened, I began to cry, trying to hide the tears which didnt work very long, he ask me what was wrong. I told him to listen to the song. he just laughed at me and said you cant do it so dont even try. With broken spirits I began putting a life together without him in it. Thanks Reba for your encouragement!

  • @carolhowerton this is very inspirational for me. I am in that boat right now.

  • @carolhowerton Thank God! Anytime someone says you can't do it or put you down, that's a signal to leave them behind. I am glad that is just what you did. Things will get better for you if they already haven't. There is a theory that if you find your true love and they aren't ready for you then the next true love that is the best is yours while your old true love has to work through thier issues before they move on. It sounds like he has alot of work to do... You deserve the best!

  • @carolhowerton good for you!!

  • @carolhowerton I can really relate to this song right now in my life. I'm 45 and going to college for the first time. I have grown children, but also a 5 year old that just started kindergarten. Juggling homework, housework, and mom's taxi - I am definitely tired at the end of the day. But you know what - I'm pulling straight A's and enjoying my college life and family life 100%. - Most of my professors are also very supportive!!

  • @carolhowerton Very encouraging story, thanks for the share, whoever you were with before just doesn't know how to treat a woman.

  • @carolhowerton: Your courage is inspiring! Keep on going, girl! You don't need him to be happy, you have your own happiness in your heart! <3

  • @carolhowerton never let anyone hold you back in life

  • I remember seeing this video when I was about 10 years old...and my mother loved it sooo much...I never understood then....now I know why <3

  • yes, after 16years of marriage he left me ,on top of that I had become disable due to

hit by a drunk driver ,had many many many surgery but he blamed me for getting hurt.and in the mean time he was having affair.I was told by his partner why are you still let him hurt you like this.?I asked what he meant then he told me.but I rase two wonderful daughter's from middle school too college now both of them are on Dean's list.If I can do it with disability ,then you can do it as well.

  • @kasf1982able You hang in there and just take it day by day. I am in the same place you are, been there for over 20 years now. Wish I could say it gets better but I can't. Just try your best. I am sorry you got hurt.

  • REBA you have and always will be my number 1 country music inspiration YOU taught me what music was and how to appreciate it and That is why I try to write the best music I can NOT published or sang yet but it will one day THANK YOU !

  • Now this is a music video!!!

  • my mom has five kids, six if you count the one she gave up for adoption, and she just recently started going to college and she's working a full time job at a hospital and works weird hours. but still has the time to be an amazing mother. im so proud of her. <3 RLN :)

  • @WolfEars thats so sweet!

  • @saxtongirl16 AWH :) Thank you :)

  • This video reminds me of my mama. She went back to school with 3 kids and working a full time job. Me and my sisters were, and are, so very proud of her and the example she has tried to set for us.

  • How come 12 people dont like this?!?! They must be heartless!!!! This song is a inspiration for everyone!!!! :) I think Reba is the only one that could've made this song so popular. She rocked it.

  • thats how every Grad should look on that day!

  • "What have you done?!" Almost a mommy dearest moment....Thanks to Huey Lewis it didn't happen. :-)

  • The ending rocks, I wanna cry every time ^^ Plus, look at her smile seriously.

  • I'm sure she was talking about the plane by "accident"... This idea have been running through my mine since the first time I heard it...

  • Haha, wish she was my mom. ^^

  • love reba always listen to her when im down and it always makes my day better

  • I'm pretty sure that's huey Lewis, way to go bud.

  • i love this music video its my favorite i feel that way some times

  • i cry everytime i watch this. especially when she's graduating. this reminds me so much of my mom. I LOVE YOU!

  • Aw♥

  • i hope i can marry someone like tht

    so sweet and aaaaawwwwww

  • I love that : "What have you duh-une?" She is sooo country!

  • "I learned more from the stain than I did the paper."

    Love that quote :)

  • great video... kinda wish i had seen it before i decided to have a family work and do school all at one time and even still things are easier now a days then they were back then!!!

  • i see alot of people say they want a husband like that.. well my boyfriend is like that and im so so thankful for that. I know what this song is about. I work, have a year old daughter, school, and trying to make a life wiht my man... its almost impossible so this song touches me a lot.

  • I see why this was turned into a movie, such an insperational video and message.

  • @Blazinitforu This was a movie?? What was it called??

  • @Ejcerae10 It's called Is there life out there. Amazon has it if you want to buy it.

  • @Blazinitforu Okay Thank you :-)

  • its amazing how powerful those words were when she spoke about accidents yet children don't uderstand it.

  • Every time I hear this song I get the strongest urge to follow all my dreams before it's too late. I love this song.

  • i just love her

  • This is amazing-I love how sweet the husband is, how hard she tries. It isn't some song that says life is all good with only a few little spills. It gives an example of true America. Thumbs up Reba!!

  • @RevealedGrace I agree million percent, friend. One of the best Reba songs I've ever heard.

  • I keep hearing new grads saying they want to start a family. Don't yet. Do the things you dream of first because if you think college is hard now this video shows how hard it is once you have started a family. If you did have kids before college I have a lot of respect for you because of your strength and determination.

  • this is A good song

  • at least this woman had a good man to help her through it

  • @RyanCooleyFanx Ahah, maybe we are :P

  • Awww, look at her smile at the end...

  • I don't like the way she says "I don't need anymore accident in my life", that reminds me of the plane crash. Still, Reba is the best, but I'm sure I didn't need to say that.

  • I remember watching this video in about 1994ish when I was 6 years old on CMT. I remembered the "but next time, try to avoid the stains" part. I haven't seen this video in years amd years! I loved CMT! I loved Reba, too. I so glad I grew up country. :)

  • Wish I had a husband like that!

  • @JToenis me too! and dont we all? lolol

  • Whoa... I just realized I go to that school! Belmont University FTW!!!

  • Thanks for this music.love the all the nice comments are posted here as well.

    cheers!!

  • Reba seems like such a lovely person and obv very talented ! I have just got her 3 cd best hits ! Thumbs up if you think Reba and Dolly should do a duet album

  • I think this video expounds on the underlying message of the song: the search for unconditional love. I've tried for so many years to be Huey Lewis in this video; a man giving that unconditional love, no matter what. There have been times where I have succeeded, but more often than not, I have failed at it. I've always had some excuse for not being all I should be to my wife. But that's all excuses are: excuses. But I am going to keep trying to make sure my wife knows how much she is loved.

  • I've tried all my life to do what others wanted for my life but now I'm living for my Father in Heaven.

  • woow i have been listening to Reba songs for an hour now and all of them have given me chills. I now remember why i fell in love with her music!!

  • I dont know what VEVO is but what ever this shithead corporation is somebody please kill it...probably some fucking french piece of shit oops...my mistake its those cocksuckers from Sony again...what a surprise

  • Thank god for word program!

  • My life is just like this. I married when i was 17 and now i am 40. My husband is good to me and my kids, but i feel like i need something more in my life.

  • @TheBdawg101 Don't be afraid to go back to college if you feel you need more in your life. I relate to this song so much b/c I've been in that place, sadly enough, even the part about the not needing more "accidents" in my life. DH stepped in & reminded me what I had & what I was striving for too. He stood by me for 7+yrs as I earned the 2 degrees then again when I went back to college for medical transcription after I wasn't able to work in my given fields b/c health probs & loss of MT job.

  • @TheBdawg101 I telecommuted from home as an MT for 10+yrs b4 I had no choice but to resign. I lost the earlier career to blindness & the latter to Lupus (SLE) & Sjogren's Disease. It still didn't stop me completely. Today, I pick up work as a freelance writer, beta tester/reviewer, & even published my 1st novel in early 2000. I still write but it's btw flares & when Lupus/Sjogren's aren't causing probs w/my abilities. Brain fog & pain makes it 2 difficult to write well so I wait til flares pass.

  • @TheBdawg101 Since you have kids, I wanted to add to what I wrote earlier. If you chose to return to college for a new career choice, it will help you set an example for your kids & that's the example that you're never too old to learn something new or try a different path. It's what kept my oldest going back for her 2nd & 3rd degrees & plans to return in the fall after she graduates this spring w/degree #3. Her new DH supports her choice to return to college & work, which makes me proud of them

  • My MoM and her are like the same people liveing diferent lives i swear! u wunna know what my moms name is? lmao it is Robin McIntyre hahahahaha

  • i love 1:23 - 1:33 i want a husband like that :)

  • that me right there. im a mother to one autistic son that is 6 and i have 2 very smart girls that are 2 years and almost 10 months old now

  • Aww 1st time seeing this video after yrs and yrs of listening to this song and its a beautiful video!!!!

  • @Kpedreira01 same here. never saw the vid, but it's really touching.

  • God this is my theme song. I live this kind of life, except I don't have a hubby like that. I may as well be a single parent. :(

  • loved this video growing up as a kid. still love it 20 years later

  • i wonder this every single day

  • Now thats a man who loves his wife, cleaning her paper, awwww

  • I am lucky to have that kinda husband.

  • Hi Everyone,

wish You all Have Happy Mother's Day.

  • i agre i cried reba cried...life gets crazy

  • I like to dedicate this song to my little neice. After 8 or 9 years of marriage, and 2 children later, her husband, now ex-husband cheated on her. She too, married young. She's got her freedom back now, and I'm very happy for her. Love you Lish!! (Alisha) Your Aunt Nick

  • Reba's a great actress

  • The story of my mom's life and thank god she did it!

  • I learned more from the stains than I did the paper!

  • Get to know thyself so that YOU WON'T be a willing VICTIM/PREY to take whatever ABUSE or MISTREATMENT any man CHOOSES to inflict ON YOU when you can RELISH being in your OWN COMPANY you'll be the WOMAN that a man will WANT to be around BECAUSE you won't be the WOMAN who can't be without A MAN :)

  • Love it with Huey Lewis as the husband ... and selectrix typewriters ... no backup files possible ... OMG, what a memory - now I'm dated.

  • @rugratz2222 I remember the manual typewriter I used back in the day that weighed a ton and there were no letters on any of the keys. Then I moved up to a portable yet still weighed a ton & was still manual w/o power. Finally, got my 1st electric typewriter - thought it was heaven; then my 1st TRASH-80 & it blossomed from there. Kids today don't know how good they have it. I remember having to retype pages b/c of 1 mistake & no correction fluid.

  • @rugratz2222 Not to be picky, but she's using a Smith-Corona, not a Selectric ;-)

  • Love this Song soo Much !!!
