  • In 2006 Hizbollah fired so many rockets we would have used every interceptor in the country within the first day. If its for shooting down the odd kassem from Hamas which causes $30 damage, each interceptor cost around $30,000 a useless system

  • Grad is a Russian Truch mounted system, these are explosiveless home made rockets filled with Fertilizer, usually Land in open fields near Sderot, but Fatah would prefer 350 F16's or Hundreds of Hellfire Missile-30mm gatling gun firing Apaches.but since their Kids are Murdered by IDF Israel every week with 15 Billion $US a yr these have to do. Israel Murdered 1460 Unarmed Civilians in 2009 incl 400 kids.palestinian have Nil tanks Nil Nukes Nil F15 &F16 & Nil Air defences BUT ISRAEL=VICTIM SHITE

  • Israeli iron dome to be copied by china??? Iron Dome sold to the u.s.a is the right thing because it will be spun off to bigger defensive systems.but not be sold to everone with the money. giving out this tech is dangerous to the jews state, copy cats of this system by china is a very real threat and we know what that means.

  • @alieev Yes, a final solution to Iran is well underway dickhead

  • Wow this is just AMAZING. I Have never heard anything like it before EVER....This guy has one hell of a deep voice.

  • HAHAHAHAHAH palestinians LOSERS!

  • another great israeli invention, however, its only a matter of time before israel will need to liberate gaza once again

  • @alieev that is just a racist stupid as fuck comment....

ignoring all of the dumb racist jew shit. realistically not only is israel a long way off being bankrupt but this defense system will hopefully end th conflict in the gaza region. sooner or later they (hamas) will reinvest their billions of dollars of aid into something constructive like a school or hospital because they will get bored of failing to kill regular civilians

  • @alieev lol that wont happesn since AMerica gives Israel billions of dollars a year e... nice try though

  • Problem is that it's so bloody expensive.

Would be cheaper to round up all the Arabs and toss them into the Saudi desert.

  • Tiny Israel is surrounded by Islamic nations stuck in 7th century control-feakish barbarism from N. Africa to E. Africa to the Middle East. Israel, the only democratic nation in a sea of backward Islam. No sweat! It's David vs. Goliath in more ways than one.

Behold, He (God) who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

    -- Psalm 121:4

  • The cost of maintaining and operating Iron Dome should be deducted from the sums paid by Israel to the "Palestine" Authority a way of recouping the expense of deploying Iron Dome. Let them eat and drink their GRADs. It would be quite interesting to see how long the civilians in Gaza will put up with their corrupt terrorist leadership then!

  • @panafilmxxx I'm pretty sure even if they hated their leadership they couldn't do much because the leaders are suicidal, they'd take everyone with them if they were to fall.

  • 8 missiles were intercepted...

and the number will just keep on growing.

  • @foxman4455 AND HAMAS DEAD TERORISTS number will just keep on growing.

  • Need much improvement.

Over 50 missiles fired into Israel, only 3 were intercepted. This is only 6%.

    Need to improve Iron Dome.

How many missiles are aimed at Israel from Gaza and Hisbollah in the north?

Hosbollah threatened to fire 100 missiles everyday for 2 years, some to Tel Avil, and if 90% landed, bad for Israel.

Better to preempt and when it comes to the worst, fire 200 nuclear heads to the Arab cities, just before they fire the nuclear weapons.

  • @3232ting This is not correct, the Iron Dome system will launch the interceptor only after the tracking radar identified that the trajectory of the projectile will hit a populated area.

There is no point to launch a 500K USD missile at a target that will not hit any thing.

  • @DOGMA1138 Thanks.

    Israel will stand forever.

YHWH will be with Israel and shall judge her enemies.

  • @DOGMA1138

Does every "intercepting" missile truly cost that much or were you exaggerating?

  • @Timothyk11 Dogma is wrong. Each missile costs about 40,000 dollars US.

  • @MrsJosephMerrick

Thank you. Good information is getting more and more difficult to acquire these days. Maybe using lazers could reduce cost and increase effectiveness. Your thoughts?

  • @Timothyk11 Hello! I dont quite know if youre making a joke, or what...But, I did smile actually. Yes, these missiles do cost a heck of a lot of money - but at least theyre Defensive, not Offensive...and who knows what the company who made this system will come up with in the future (Rafael, Israeli company). I saw a comment somewhere which did make me smile, though I know I shouldnt, where the comparison was made to Star Trek - what next?: ''Raise shields! Fire photon torpedoes!''

    Who knows?

  • @MrsJosephMerrick

I should have been more clear/complete. I was not joking. Maybe you can view the same YouTube postings I viewed. There are two, they’re entitled:

    1) US destroys missile with airborne laser for first time

    2) US Navy's Laser Test Could Put Heat on Pirates

If the U.S. can do it, Israel certainly can too. I'd like to know if you were able to view these...or not. If you can, once again, your thoughts please? Long live Israel!

  • @Timothyk11 Oh! Ive never heard of this, its VERY interesting. I shall certainly take a look!

    Best wishes x

  • @Timothyk11 I saw an exciting vid about Nautilus (laser). It can fire at mulitiple incoming missiles and mortars - now THATS a really great thing, because I doubt the Iron Dome could cope with a huge barrage at once. Great stuff. I had no idea.....

  • @Timothyk11 the current cost of each missile is around 200k (the prices are for the "US" version of the system licensed to Raytheon), the SOP is to launch 2 interceptors per target, the additional est 50K per launch is the added cost of maintenance of the system and the production line. also this is the cost of the current system deployment, as time goes by and more systems are made the price per intercept will decrease. some sources estimate a price of 40-60k per missile in domestic production.

  • @3232ting Not accurate. Iron Dome only intercepts rockets that are destined to hit populated areas. Hamas' "Grad" & "Qassam" rockets are fired at a general direction, by nature they won't have a high success rate. Since Iron Dome was deployed in Be'er Sheva & Ashkelon, not a single missile hit these cities.

What you say about the northern front is true sadly, Iron Dome cannot handle 200 rockets a day, atleast not with a total of 2 batteries.

  • Here is amateur video that was shot yesterday in Ashkelon and shows Iron Dome in action

    watch?v=hPfiN3eQNMY

  • @meirt1978 Yes - because Israel wants to PROTECT its citizens.

  • @meirt1978

Iron Dome FAIL! Friday night, April 8: More than 60 Hamas and Jihad Islami mortar shells and missiles hit Israeli towns. Truly I hoped it would be effective. War has turned into a profitable enterprise.

  • @Timothyk11 It does not shoot down all rockets and grads. It calculates which may cause the most damage or danger to life, ie, if the rocket may hit populated areas - its those it attacks. And it HAS been very successful! I heard the first missile used in this video pass straight over my house, then the boom at it blew up the uncoming grad. The sound of the missile was very loud, indeed.

  • @MrsJosephMerrick

I'm sincerely glad to hear this. I'm very saddended to hear of the 16 year old student & bus driver that did not seem to have been protected by Iron Dome. Long live Israel!

  • @Timothyk11 Yes, the student is still in hospital, still critical with shrapnell in his head, the bus driver only lightly hurt though. But iron dome wouldnt have been of help there anyway - I think. It was a ''cornet'', which is an anti-tank rocket, and fired low to the bus, which was used. But it was that incident which prompted the first use of it on the 7th. Take care. Thanks.

  • @Timothyk11 I came back to regretfully inform you, and any others who may have read our comments, that sadly the student died from the wounds he sustained in the attack.

  • @MrsJosephMerrick

Very sad news. I will be angry later. Thank you for taking the time.

  • @Timothyk11 They were not protected by the iron dome because the bus was not his by a rocket from gaza, it was a shoulder anti tank rocket fired by a terrorist on a school bus... fucked up eh?

  • @beepIL

So the "Iron Dome" is ineffective against anti-tank rockets?

  • @Timothyk11 of course its innefective against anti tank rockets! do you have any idea what are those things you talk about?

a shoulder anti tank missle is fired from a small hand held tube (an RPG for example is an anti tank missile)

the iron dome is a missile battery with missiles 4 times your side in every direction! meant to intercept short and long range missiles, (like kassam or grad rockets - google those)

how on earth will the iron dome intercept an anti tank missile fired from 20m??

  • @beepIL

You asked, "do you have any idea what are those things you talk about?"

I DID NOT TALK ABOUT them, I ASKED ABOUT them! Therefore in answer to your question: I don't know enough about “anti-tank rockets”/”Iron Dome”, that's why I INQUIRED! Does my humble admission of ignorance make you feel smarter? Do you scorn me for trying to learn? I will keep learning without shame till I'm dead regardless of scorn from you or anybody. Did you decide not enough people dislike you?

  • @Timothyk11 It seems i didn't understand the intent of your question, i thought you were sarcastic, i take my words back,

and on a more pleasant note, as i said below, the anti tank rocket is hand held and is fired in a short range, a terrorist went near the road, aimed it an a school bus and fired at it an anti tank rocket,

the rockets intercepted by the iron dome are considered short range rockets, but are still long range when compared to hand held, fired few kilometers away,

    have a nice day

  • @beepIL

Thank for your kind words. I discern you are a person of caliber. Long live Israel!

  • @beepIL Sorry, I had to ''but in'' in your conversation with timothyk11 , I hope you dont mind.

    - Yes, Iron Dome would not have helped the school bus, such a weapon is fired low after all also. But also, Iron Dome was used for the FIRST TIME around 6pm on the 7th, which was after what happened with the bus.

By the way, I believe the IDF has a defence system actually installed in its tanks now against anti-tank weapons such as the Cornet, used on the bus.

  • @MrsJosephMerrick feel free to join any conversation you like mate :)

yes there is a defense system against anti tank missiles, it is called "Throphy"

you can watch it here watch?v=zyiRQsEroSc (replace it with the one in your URL)

this system is very expensive and it would be impossible to install it on every bus

  • @beepIL Thankyou very much for the information ! - I didnt know about that. :)

  • Great! Kol Ha Kavod le IDF!
