Farewell Corkscrew (Alton Towers)

This video brings tears to my eyes, such affection for a rickety old rollercoaster that left me with bruises every time i went on it! But it was my first rollercoaster and so i will always look back on it with loving nostalgia.

i remember when i was by the swings at lunchtime sitting on teh grass and my friend came up to me and said 'omg did u know that cork screw is getting knocked down to make way for a new ride' and i was like NO WAY and i nearly cried

i only met you once but you will be in my heart forever.

@wweman6 Mate corkscrew was a massive step in coaster history i never went on it but my dad ses this ride used to be the most popular ride ther...even at times the ques were bigger than oblivion and 5 mins short of air...im goin on wednesday and it brings a tear to my eye of the memorial at the entrance so shut the fuck up u bastard this ride meant alot to some people!

we went alton towers in 2006 and my sister and mum went on corkscrew but i was too scared and then we went to alton towers agen in july but wen we went i was planning to go on it but it wasnt there :((( i didn't know it had been took down!

I miss the corcscrew ssoooooo much!!!! If any1 wants to expierence the ride again, then go to flamingo land in scarborough. I know its not the same but it hasn't died totally!! :)
