Ahh yes...old Vegas. I always stayed downtown...the Mint, Fitz, the (old) Horseshoe,the El Cortez....I remember once, while staying at the Union Plaza hotel for $25 with a room overlooking Fremont from the 15th floor... and the Experience about 60% complete thinking...old downtown is just never gonna be the same. Man, the Fremont Exp. ruined it all.
Now I just stay at the Luxury Hotels on the strip.
@GreatPacNorthwest I haven't been back in a few years but the last time I was I thought that the addition of the Neon Museum to Fremont St. was a good move.

I loved the old Las Vegas. I lived there from 1961 until 1980. Great memories.
