@ferociouspokemachine LAConvolver does the job beautifully. Download and install it. Then just search the web for impulse responses. In a garageband track add a basic track, then click to add an effect, choose LAConvolver, and point it to the impulse response you want.

I've just remembered that one of the cabinet impulse responses I use is basically Petrucci's ;-) I got it from the John Petrucci forums; a guy has the same gear, and recorded his own impulse response from it. 8)
