I had all the alien weapons at some point.  They aren't very good for Hunters, since the alien guns are really only good for killing stuff with armour. You run way too slow with them anyway.

Also, this was done on the PC version, so yeah.

Play the promontory. I was running my friend through and he pretty much leveled a proficiency every kill I made.

I'm sure with all the computer based stats I could hack all my pros to lvl 50. Why the hell would I want to increase the rate at which I level it lol?

The game is more about elemental effects later on... Besides, there are more damaging things.  Take Masher Revolvers for instance... One of mine does 250x7 damage.
