  • "We can solve this peacefully", lol, he talks like Obama :)

  • i love how the little henchmen copies the 2 other ones

  • The peaceful one is to be shot in the back unawares. Human nature then and now.

  • The Fleischer animators had to work real hard to get this finished and ready for release in December of 1939.The results were great,as you can see.The animators were,"aaallll together, now!"

  • 1:33 Bomb...attacking!

    WHAT?

    Bombo attacking!

    MEGALOL

  • 2:40 I LOL'd when I was 5. Now, at 23, I LOL'd again.

  • 1:07 i still laugh with this

  • isnt this the first time the prince and princess has spoken...apart from singing

  • Gotta say the public domain stock is in great quality! The old video version I had of this had notable film breaks in the quality and missing footage.

  • i wish they would restore this and show it on telly!

  • bello lo vedevo sempre!!!

  • if you guys love movies like this, check out urduja here in youtube.

  • Actually the film was titled"Hoppity Goes To

    Town!"..it wasn't retitled"Mr.Bug Goes To Town"

    until"Mr.Deeds Goes To Town"later on.

  • I truly loved Gulliver's Travel. So romantic, and tons of ulearning. But how much I can watch "Hoppity goes to Town" if anyone can download it onto youtube.

  • @sp151522 Good news: someone did. :) Try looking it up.

  • lol, i love Gulliver's reaction to Gabby - the way he humours him and then kinda looks a bit bemused as he leaves.

  • very true, not many films seem to have a good meaning these days.

  • lol, yes - but you know, i think he kinda looks like one of the guys in pocahontas

  • "Mr.Gulliver's"Speech at the end..where tells

off the two kings and their people about the foolishness

of fighting over a sing is more meaningful than Disney's Crap!

  • i can't but help seeing an analogy with chamberlain

  • I'm enjoying it too.

  • Thanks. I'm surprised it's not in public domain. It fell into obscurity even faster than Gulliver's Travels (which was actually a moderate success at the box office) .

I've seen "Mr. Bug Goes To Town" numerous times on TV in the past (this would have been 15 to 20 years ago) but I haven't seen it recently and I'm unclear on who owns it .

  • Do you have the Fleischer's second feature film "Mr. Bug Goes To Town" (aka "Hoppity Goes To Town" ) ? Would love to see that one .

  • I looked it up awhile ago, couldn't find anything on it. I have never seen it and I dont think it's in the public domain. But I'm with you, id love to see it also.

  • The others have put up copies that have been edited (the most egregious being that Gabby's signarture "All's Well!" sequence is gutted from them).

I MUCH appreciate this unedited version. Thanks!

  • I sure am enjoying this movie. Though I'm guessing there's not alot of comments here because I believe there has been other members who have put this movie up as well. :D
