  • I always knew of vitilago because a girl I knew had it. (back in the early 80s). She was teased about it...because we were kids and we didn't know better. This was before Michael came out looking "different." I believe Michael did start out with vitilago...but I think with all the medication he was on ......he was doing other things to himself as well.

  • It needs a special person to handle vitiligo: I mean, some people can be mean and make fun of you because you look "weird". It takes guts to accept and to handle this situation as Thomas does. Great guy!

  • @mrm1m3 My friend's father has it…

  • You would think most coons would want vitiligo.

  • It's called full coverage foundation buddy

  • using chemicals in order to whiten up your skin is not such a healthy thing for your health.. the skin is a supplier of vitamin D once u r exposed to the sun.. and wile whitening your skin you avoid this important vitamin supply 2 ur body .. also, hormones creation in ur body is provoked a lot by the sun..

So maybe from the outside it looks ok when all skin is white.. but 4 the vitiligo patient it is crucial to maintain pigmentation.. in any part of the skin it is possible.

  • He would probablly look ok if he did the same thiong as michael jackson

  • a real hope 4 Vitiligo using the dead sea treatment..

    see more medical researches at:

Vitiligo - The cure is in the Dead Sea

    on Facebook

  • @8dorit Vitiligo not really that bad if it goes all the way the person just look like a white person lol

  • I don't care if he's black, white, yellow,or bicolored. I have the impression that he's a kind person by the way he talks about his disease, and if he'd had talked with me,he could have token off his makeup, cause i simply don't care about how he looks.

  • Thedizzydiana I know I felt really bad for mj a hater should die instead of him it must have been really hard for him to be happy with his life and carry on especially in front of his fans he can't smile but thats what his fans wanted to see or he would have been in the papers and on the news saying MICHAEL JACKSON IS SAD and they will find out so sad can't reporters just let celebrities be who cares if they have new trends or a wedding that's private that's why id only like to be half famous o

  • No disrespect but how come he is believed and michael jackson was villified for this.no one believed michael. Can you all just imagine how hard it was for THE KING OF POP to have this desease and smile and carry on.

  • and the white suits him better :)

  • @MrHJ97 No it doesn't :)

  • its the inside that matters...

  • What a sweet guy! Me encanta su buena vibra y su animo tan positivo! Un ejemplo a seguir definitivamente...

  • Is he mixed race?????

  • @doctoc30 Who knows and why would it matter? White people also get vitiligo. It just isn't quite as obvious on paler skin as it is on dark skin.

  • what a loving attitude

    hes a true hero

  • camoflage skin is cool!

  • I have vitiligo too but I'm not black but being black has nothing to do with being proud where you come from there is white people who are more African then he is because he was born there I'm part Swedish so does that mean I'm Swedish American no I'm a American that's it

  • I have a belly button hernia and seeing this made me not to be insecure of it anymore

  • He has a good heart..and he is a nice person..it's kind of messed up that shit water things happen to the best people but he is taking it real well i wish him the best of luck

  • can you imagine how hard it was for michael, who was in the public eye all the time. its understandable why he would hide the splotches with makeup. the media is a bitch.

  • larry king is a douche

  • interesting that his eyebrows are still colored. I have vitiligo also and my eyebrows went white...

  • THERE! we have a doctor's proof. can you go now? :)

  • It takes someone to look A LOT worse than this guy does to be weirded out or scared, otherwise i treat everybody with respect

  • I honestly believe that MJ had this disease. Realistically, I also believe that because he was a high profile person, that he did take something or do something to even out his skin tone. Once you start to lighten you can't go darker unless you just use makeup. The thing is MJ didn't want the world to know early on when it first started ,so he took the harsh criticisms in hiding this disease. No one wants to be judged by how you look. It's not easy dealing with something like this.

  • I wish I could thank this guy. Inspiring. Mine isn't quite as bad and I'm also white so it isn't as noticeable. It makes me realize that I can't let it get to me if I wanna succeed. It was really hard through high school but I'm 20 now and its getting alot easier. Although I do still try to hide it It's mainly to keep other people from being uncomfortable because that's when I get uncomfortable about it.

  • i hope there is a cure to help black people REMAIN african americans. Even if some black person wants to become white...he or she will NEVER become a white person. Same as Caucasians and so on. He is a really nice intelligent guy. I hope the best for him and his wonderful life.

  • This guy is inspiring, I'm glad he came out with the truth because I have it too, and it is very helpful to see other people who have it, and can deal with it

  • that speach he said was beautuful i started to tears its soo sad

  • What a handsome intelligent man!!

  • maybe he wont get pulled over now

  • u racist hick.

  • @xgs724 What the fuck is wrong with you

  • @xgs724 That's really not funny.

  • @xgs724 really! gtfoh!

  • @xgs724 well, when the process is over he's gonna be a good looking guy wit his white skin lol

  • this man has a great spirit about him and i always believed micheal when he said he had vitiligo

  • and what about mj?

  • he looks so cool, I don't see the problem!

  • its cureable i swear to God and its free

  • @mangalramgupta stop lyin its not kool u'll kill vitiligo ppl

  • I think in a way it's a blessing that MJ had this, for the accaptation of all people who suffer becaus of it. It's just 1 of the many medical problems there are, but the difficult thing is the bad reaction of people.

For a performer as MJ it must have been even more difficult.

  • RIGHT ON !!

  • People this does exsist MJ did have this why can't you people believe!

  • LMAO at the Larry Thomas bit at the end

  • I have raised my kids (13 & 11) to know EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. I am very proud of my kids because they are the type of people who befriends the kids that are different and stand up for them. My daughter told me the other day she met a little person at her new school. I couldn't be more proud of who they are becoming!

  • It is a very rough condition to have, not because of what it does to your skin as much as how people treat you. As a child I became too keenly aware of the evil of ignorance and how people lack compassion. As I grew the condition actually faded for me. I got it as a small boy and it grew, but it kind of centered on a few areas. People think I'm trying to style my hair color, but your hair takes on that same change in color.

The plus is it makes you a more introspective person. He is correct.

  • why do so many people care about how others look anyway.

i think it says a lot about a person that they care more abot how others look, than themselves.

  • yea i agree ther so many assholes out there but wut can u do thats seciety

  • Larry calls him "Larry Thomas" at 9:25.

  • larry always does stuff like that, he is too old for this anymore

  • Lee Thomas.. please tell more about this theme around the world. because MJ needs support. Thank you.

  • Lee Thiomas is so cool, so articulate and clearly smart. I've never heard of him before, but I'm impressed.

  • Michael Jackson did not have lip surgery or a face lift, I wish ppl would stop saying that.

  • to the person who made this clip Michael did not have lip surgery.

  • I think he had reconstructive lip surgery in 2007 after his lip collapsed when Blanket accidentally punched him while they were playing. Maybe that is what the person who made the clip is talking about.

  • lol your lip cant collapse. he did notthing to his lip, prince punched his nose though

  • what? haha

Where did u get that from?

  • but what a bout michael?why wasnt he a poster child for vitiligo?hell, his is the most famous case, or were ppl so caught up in the fact that the media has been tryin to destroy him for yrsby makeing up ridiculous and ficticious rumors?well did u get what u wanted?who the hell is this guy ne way?

  • This guy is an anchor that wrote a book about Vitiligo. What about Michael? When MJ came out an finally said that he had Vitiligo ppl still to this day didnt believe him! Its an emotionally and psychologically crippling disease but as this man pointed out u cant let it get u down. An Michael never did let it stop him from doing what he wanted 2 do because he felt there were more important things like giving to those who were more sickly than him. Thats why I think he didnt make a pity case of it

  • love Mikey

  • My wife developed severe cystic acne when she was pregnant with out last child. People can be very rude and insensitive to others who are different. This man is amzing and has an amazing testimony of life and how to overcome what others feel isn't right. I would love to meet this gentleman and get to know him better- what an amazing individual.

  • yup. we live in a very vain society.

  • aw :'(

    thats so sad

dont worry you dont scare me

  • you know wat man im gonna tell yall the truth IF I seen this guy on the streets even without make up on i think i would give this guy a hug just for him being so strong in having this problem man This guy is kinda being my hero for being so strong.

  • i wish he could support Michael Jackson.

    HE had it even worse!!

  • i won't lie guys, when i FIRST heard of michael jackson turning white when he was a black man 8 years ago i joined the band-wagon of hating michael jackson. i now reflect upon myself years ago of being very WRONG...i will always hate the me years ago, now, I've listened to every song michael jackson has made. it really is sad that people judge others just by the way they look, very disappointing. michael jackson has also done some good in his life, the part that no one will pay attention to....

  • How big of you to admit this. good for you

  • I see many of this desiese indian in Singapore on the street. I must say very often. .

  • even after no pigment will be left he will still be beautiful

  • see this is wat happened to michael jackson.. mike just has a diff type of the disease

where is skin changes by shade till its pale

  • I don't know.........

From what I've seen and what people who have it have said, it starts out as patches, not an even, overall lightening of the whole skin. I've heard that MJ has it, but I personally still think he had something done to his skin to make it pale, considering all the procedures he got. Also, he's said before that he's hated his looks (back when he looked like himself) and got work done (though I'm sure it's way more than the one or two nose jobs he claims).

  • MIchael's vitiligo is the universal type

  • no it doesn't completley remove all pigment,

  • yes it does ,especially if the person is stressed, and MJ did have anorexia nervosa and Body dysmorphic disorder ,plus he suffered loneliness these things increase the rate of the disease ,now tell me how he was supposed to cope ,and he was a virgo they tend to be very private people.

  • Yes stress does cause vitiligo to spread. Your immune system is already sped up and stress causes it more.

  • I actually agree with you and I have always been a huge MJ fan.

  • he seems humble about things

people are too judgemental at times.....

  • Keep strong you are loved and an inspiration. The work you are doing is great you should be proud, please look into research i believe answers are coming. Please continue to tell the public the world needs to know. Love to Lee Thomas and all who have the condition.
