This fight is very simple to do. Just a Dragoon as main job (doesnt matter what lvl), its has the best defense, HP and the polearm weapon (because hitting him right next to him, his Counter hurts like hell). Any second class ability (people go with Squire for extra speed and attack, but not needed). 90 and above brave, Auto Potion (Xpotions only), Contraction, and Movement +2 (or Life movement if your not brave enough lol). And just go wrack him

When I played this battle i was lower in level and didnt have Defender. My abyssal blade killed two of the demons and critically wounded another. Made the battle go smoother. From their I Sanguined my way to victory :P

There's nothing wrong with "I am come". Using "be" instead of "have" as an auxiliary before certain intransitive verbs (of motion) is now archaic or literary, but it's perfectly correct besides. That said, I actually love the new translation; the other one was poorly done, although I do miss the part where Delita says "Blame yourself or God" near the beginning in the old version.

I soloed this without a dark knight though. Squire Ramza with punch art secondary for chakra with martial arts and auto potion. Wear a chameleon robe and Wiegraf will only earth slash and wave fist you in round one. Just keep Yelling and Accumulating yourself until your PA is 20 and your speed is 16. When the Velius fight starts you'll go 3 times in a row before anyone else and hit him for 400 or more.

@EricB042389 Even dark knight cant beat wiegraf without a stragy since his Hollowed Bold does about 140 damage and Surguin Sword does about 90 damage and absorb. If you keep doing this Wiegraf will kill you even before u can kill him......

Equipped with the Excalibur, Eschutcheon II, Maximillian, Grand Helm, & Bracer. Current Job: Knight Abilities: Rend Weapon (primary) Darkness (secondary) Counter: Soulbind Support: Vehemence Movement: Teleport. He's a beast and growing. Anything is possible, you just have to work for it.

since when is it wrong for some1 to make a video to show off the new dark knight class im very grateful to observe the classes abilities. and in regard to the fact that he is overleveled i didnt realize that it was wrong to enjoy grinding. or perhaps he likes soloing a small army of monsters and in doing so lvled really fast. grinding and developing a powerful character is mearly just 1 of the ways to enjoy this game.

In the original FFT, it's really easy to beat Wiegraf, in any class, with any equipment you like. All you need is the squire's Basic Skill and a bit of time. When the battle starts, first thing you do is to spam the Yell skill until Ramza's speed reaches 50. Then spam Accumulate until you're satisfied with Ramza's PA. Once you get satisfactory PA, you can destroy Wiegraf with 1 blow. Then, when Velius appears, it should still be Ramza's turn, since he has 50 speed.

A couple of slashes should easily dispose of the accompanying demons, and Velius would go down in a couple of hits, assuming you pumped Ramza's PA up to 99 or so. Also, while spamming Yell and Accumulate, you'd get tons of Exp and JP, so it would be easy to level a job you'd like to master while doing this.

Defender is a Rare poach from the Elder Treants (Recruit them @ Grogh Hill). The other gear can be stolen/dropped from random battles. Remember, the enemies in random battles "level up" with your characters and so does their equipment...

You are a bit wrong...Elder Treants do not appear at Grogh Hill. They apear either in Midlight's Deep (Terminus) or Araguay Woods West(from Dorter)

I think that Elder Treants appeared in Grogh Hil commonly in the PSX version or just the chance of Meeting a Elder Treant in Grogh Hill is VERY Low.

Another Thing...Raising and Breeding takes hours,days and even weeks...The Elder Treant is the 3rd of the Treant race so its very hard to breed/raise a treant to a elder treant...I had a Behemoth and a Minotaur(The 2nd one,not the Gray one)for like 2 months and the behemoth never breeded a Dark Behemoth(Stoneshooter) or a Behemoth King(Cherche and Atremis Bow) and The Minotaur never did breed to a Sekhret(Holy lance and Ivory Pole) So breeding wont be the way to get tha Elder Treant :D

Just move in-between towns (blue dots). The monsters breed fast. If u don't get the ones u want, disgard them and leave only one to breed again until u get what u want.

In the PS1 version make sure you learn JP Boost and Accumulate (PSP Focus). You can use Accumulate over and over in battle, anytime, to gain EXP. Characters who cannot learn this skill (Agrias, Mustadio, etc) teach them Steal Gil instead. Always keep one enemy alive on the battle field (preferably asleep) use Steal Gil over and over. This works well for making EXP and Gil at the same time ;)
