  • well done!! faaantastic!! and your gorgeous :) ya got everything going for ya :) how did you do that shaky weird effect and what was the sound?

  • @urmotherlikesit Thanks heaps! The weird shaky effect was done by slightly pulling the focus in and out, so the perspective shifted slightly. The audio was mostly from a gas stove with a low-pass applied to it :)

  • aussie ads are to graphic, i feel like a drink now just to get over it.

  • thanks to you i got a great grade for my assignment thank you thank you thank you so happy i used this video :)

  • @johnson152100 haha, I'm sure it was your assignment that helped too. Good work!

  • As the same with heaps of others, this is great and I plan to use it for my assignment too. :) Thanks!

  • i love this clip done a good job using it for my pdhpe alcohol assignment

  • @johnson152100 so glad you like it! all the best with your assignment :)

  • This is so good, just what I was looking for, i'm using this as my english assignment, I hope thats okay (: good job.

  • @mehjackeeh thanks heaps! of course, show it to your class and good luck with your assignment!

  • Wow, this was amazing. Can't believe it didn't win.

  • @Bennnjammin hey thanks heaps mate, really appreciate it! hopefully they have another campaign! have a good one :)

  • ALC... FTW!!! THumbs up PPL XD

  • @Sickest2069 thanks heaps buddy!

  • ALC... FTW!!!

  • dont turn a night out into a nightmare....LOL JK hit the cunt.

  • it's a good advert but it's a bit long. should be 30 seconds. the overrall message is very apt, but it should be shorter. The monologue is a bit too long and repetitive, no offence just my opinion. The make up job is great.

  • this is the best one so far i EVER seen. congrats on the job, you have a very bright future. :D

  • wow this is very well made! great job guys (Y)

  • that's really strong and deep. I'd put that on tv.

  • favourited

  • that really spoke to me... and im 13

  • Wait what? You made this?

  • @PlasmaBall1 Yeah I did, along with Tim Glastonbury, and Sharon Massey on make up -- it didn't win the competition unfortunately, but seems to be getting a few good comments :)

  • He is a really good actor. He is not actually an actor as such - think a builder. He should do more acting. Kudos for the great Ad - when will this be on TV. Very Very effective. Last shot is very powerful.

  • @Jdtunn Thanks mate :) Yeah I'm hoping to catch up with him soon, I'll let him know.

  • Damn. Took me a little bit to catch the blood dripping down the nose.. So i rewinded it to the knuckles scene.. noticed how its getting bloodier as the story's going along..

Thats a fantastic way of telling the story.

  • @Quinton595 Thanks heaps man -- yeah that take actually would've worked for the whole thing with no cut-away to the knuckles, but I wanted to show the knuckles... we spurted some fake blood into his nose before the take and it just happened to seep-out at the right time!

  • @tommyjudd Chose a good actor too. The raspyness of the "no" right at the end is something that teens can connect with, because it was said in a tone like a guy would say talking to his friend..

    Nah man... nah..

  • @Quinton595 Thanks heaps :) He's actually not an actor! He should be, I believe he's a builder by trade and may be currently serving in the army. Would be awesome to work with him again!

  • No biggie, the guy's still alive.

  • That's not explained, nor the point. The actual person he's based off has severe brain damage and has taken years to learn how to talk and go to the bathroom again... no biggie?

Thanks for the nice comments drummerboy and dotanddot :)

  • Just trying to posittive spin it, relax.

  • Hey I'm relaxed buddy :)

Just telling the story behind it :)

  • This is amazing!

  • loved it! good to see a good aussie bloke your age not being a typical, "get smashed every second night" type of guy.

Loved the video and very well made!

  • is there any way i can copy this or download it, cos i need it for a school assignment ? ASAP please

  • See if you can embed the video into a powerpoint or whatever you're presenting on.

Alternatively, google "how to download youtube links" and paste this video's URL into the site.

  • Great that it's not patronising like a lot of the other PSAs.

  • hey does anybody know if the funded commericials for this are on utube? I really need to find it for school.

  • Check your messages, YT doesnt like me posting links apparently.

  • wow

    this is brilliant.

    like

    this is really brilliant.

  • Hey mate, thank you so much! Really appreciate it :)

  • why isn't the campaign buying this?

  • The gov hit two birds with one stone. They made a film competition to show that they are boosting our tiny film industry, and in the process, getting a winning entry to use in tackling binge drinking issues... The only downside is that the winner was screened on MTV and not across all networks.

You'll see the FUNDED commercials on TV and in cinemas, also under the "Don't Turn a Night Out into a Nightmare" tagline, but I don't feel they're effective ads. Not that mine is a masterpiece!

  • oh but it is!

  • Haha thanks heaps mate ;)

Well I'm starting to do a couple of low-budget commercials for charities in the coming months, so hopefully I get to make some more stuff like this that actually makes it to TV! :)

  • didd u make that? thats fuknnn sickk

  • Hey man, thanks a lot, really appreciate it :)

Checked out some of your videos man, really cool dancing... are you doing much more of it these days?

  • ha no worrries.. ahahah noo man, there my old videos when i was like 5, (not literally) but ye there so bad i have to take them down.. over that stuff now..ha

  • why do the girls always get raped and the guys get hit by cars

  • Well I don't know why the other videos had guys getting hit by cars... but I did it because I met a guy who had severe brain damage from being hit by a car while stumbling home one night. That's my excuse...

Don't really know about girls getting raped though, one of the TVC's has a couple having sex, but she appeared to consent to it. Even so, I guess it's a confronting thing for a girl, so they use it?

  • thanks matee, this really makes me think how lucky i am surviving the other night was absolutely blind drunk on a main road, nepean highway. im never ever gonna straightt vodka straight from the bottle ever again :\

  • We shouldn't dwell on how we behaved, but learn for next time. I used to drink a whole bottle of vodka in a night. A few times I would walk up to 10km to get home. When you go out, just remind yourself to stick to the footpaths and wait for crossings to go green - or better yet, get a mate to drive. Thanks for commenting and happy, safe drinking :)

  • omg awesome

  • Haha, thank you!

  • definitely one of the best

  • Thanks mate, really appreciate it :)

  • very good video. very effective :)

  • Likewise! Def loved the grade and in and out of focus. I thought you would have been the one to watch.

  • nice tom!

  • wow top quality
