  • Vintage 80's there's no decade better,80's=better music, better movies, better tv shows, better attitudes, better people period. It seemed like we had a better moral back then, even tho I was a child during the 80's I can see vast differences from that time period vs this time period.

  • so good!

  • I like

  • The Worhol Print at 2:02 sold this summer for $5.9million! Had I the money, I would have brought.

  • All the pictures are Debbie.

  • 3:46 & 3:01 is that really debbie?

  • @kennethj1956 EVERY picture in this video is Debbie!

  • I was the first to post this in youtube, its nice to see this track still gets a good amount of views:)

  • another overlooked upper

  • Debbie Queen of the Underground. Great track sounds like it should've been a hit for Debbie.

    rimbaudboy

  • One still in here is not Debbie, but a look alike.

  • @PHANTOMSLAYER777 Really? Which one?

  • @sundaygirl4 2:05 , the Warhol looking one. I think. Once I was looking for look a like, it came up.

  • @sundaygirl4

This is way cool very New Order sounding love it!!!!

  • @sundaygirl4 He may be referring to the pic at 1:35. I am not sure that it is not Deborah, just that i haven't seen that pic before.Does look like it's her..It may just be a rare pic not many have seen.

  • @PHANTOMSLAYER777 I think all of them are debbie

  • wait whoah debbie sang this first i remember hearing this in the movie Summer School which happens to one of my favorite movies

  • Debbie's is the original version, EG just re-record the lead vocal track. If you listen to her version, you can still hear Debbie on the backing vocals.

  • Didn't Blondie make a cover version in the movie Summer School, in the end of the movie where they have to take the test, they play it. I just listed to it, have the movie, and it says Blondie.

  • Love Eg,but this is good to,thanks.Sean

  • O.M.G!!!! I never knew Debbie Harry recorded this gem. Blinding

  • @TheTomek4791 Debbie recorded the song first, but left the record label. E.G. Daily was then chosen as a replacement.

  • wow..had no idea this existed...hmm...does kinda beat eg daily just a bit, eh?

    thanks for posting!!

  • This version is FABULOUS!

I must say that I LOVE E.G Daily's more rougher husky vocal when it comes to this AMAZING track. Debbie's is so very WOW as well!

  • This should have been released at Clubs in the late 80s. I can see this doing really well in the gay clubs. Love to have an extended version of this.

  • i like both versions but the eg version at the begining just sounds too much like tommy pickles than eg hahaha

  • I love Debbie's version of this song. Her voice is just amazing. Blondie and Debbie Harry are just music legends.

  • Wow! Hell Yeah!!!

  • yeah

  • AHH! 0:38 I love what she's wearing, really goes with her hair as well. Nice! She had style ;)

  • I haven't heard the original but it can't be better than this one. Debbie's voice was at its best when she recorded this track.

  • oh this is l♥ve

  • First off: Debbie can sing E.G.D. under the table. That being said, I do like E.G.'s version better. It just pops more for some reason. But I think it's more because of who produced it than who is singing it.

  • Does anyone have this MP3 they could send me?! This version is amazing, I have been listening to it multiple times.... daily.

  • I like this and EG Dailys version

  • If this song would have been on one of their albums, it would have went to number 1. I have just about all of Blondie's and Debbie's songs and this one isn't on any CD.

  • I love EG Daily, but this is Debbie we are talking about! WHAT an awesome song!

  • Danny6092, I agree that Stock Aitken Waterman ,and Debbie was a match made in heaven!! It would be so awesome if there was complete album of her work with them. You know Donna summer & SAW was also a match made in heaven too! Donna was recording her second SAW lp in 1991, but never finished it due to the breakup of SAW.

  • This is great A+

  • I've also never heard of this song, originally when it was released in the 80's and just heard it for the first time on youtube. I have to say I like Debbie's version more than the Daily one. Debbie's voice is sharper and stronger.

  • No Contest! Debbie is the BEST

  • wow this is an amazing song !!! why wasnt it released? im a huge debbie fan and stock aitken waterman fan too, so this is a match made in heaven!!! even release it now, as even todays artists are doing the whole 1980s vibe, like la roux and frankmusic, would be amazing if a whole debbie/stock aitken waterman album exists!?! somewhere in a vault, thanks for posting this xxx

  • Because its a great song! I love this version over EG Daily's.

  • What a great song - 5*****

  • WOW... I have no words to express how much this song ROCKS!!!!!!!!! :D

  • OMG, this could have been a smash hit for her if Debbie had of released it first!!! I love Debbie's voice , and have always been a fan of Stock Aitken Waterman production songs!!

  • Thanks for this! It's great!

  • absolutely fan-bloody-tastic i have been searching for some sort of copy of this for ages. didn't she record this around the 'rockbird' era (hence the saw remix of 'in love with love'). i heard she couldn't release it due to contractual issues or something? does anyone have any info about this? e.g. daily's version is ace but debbie's vocals definitely give it more umph! thanks so much for posting.

  • EG Dailys vertion was good....But debbie Harry's voice is like cut glass on this track...and have to say she nails it!!!

  • WHAT A WOMAN!

  • What did you do to the audio??? sounds sooo much better!

  • thanks for sharing!!!

  • I don't know who's version is better Blondie's or E.G Daily's cause they both sounded good & I love the movie Summer School!

  • Many people in the gay community thought this was someone else because there was never a video. Debbie always put out a video to her songs and this was never an official 12' release, So it is a rarity.

  • Note: This sounds even better in STEREO.

Just add &fmt=18 to URL string.

  • Whoa! Cool! I love both versions A LOT! Both women are insanely beautiful too and have lovely voices. ^_^ I couldn't choose a favorite, they both are too good.

  • i like this version better, debbie rocks (:

  • i love this song!! is there any way to get it on itunes?

  • This appeared on the b side (for about 5 minutes) on the USA Promo's of "Sweet 'n' Low" but the label withdrew them all in..or so they thought....they didnt have copyright approval.. well done whoever posted!!!!!

  • You know, the problem everyone has with this

is the quality of the audio. If it was released, even for 5 minutes, it would mean theres a good quality mix if this song.

  • For years, I have heard this song was recorded by Debbie Harry before E.G. Daily and fans thought this version was better. Without hearing it, I found it hard to believe because Daily's version rocks, and it would take a miracle for DH's version to be better. But, thanks to youtube I've just heard this version for the first time, and WOW...I am floored.

My verdict is THIS SO GOOD, THAT I WILL NEVER LISTEN TO E.G. DAILY'S VERSION AGAIN...EVER...F'N AMAZING.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it so much :)

  • both versions (eg daily/debbie harry) just pure enjoyment!

  • I never knew this existed. I love it. I love Debbie Harry. I do love the EG Daily version as well.

  • The lyrics to this version make better sense than the one sung by Daily. "There's a battle that CAN be won" makes more sense than saying CAN'T.

  • Obviously this version exist somewhere!

How can we all get a hold of this?

This is obviously proof of how powerful Debbie's voice is!

  • Untold story: Around 1987 I heard this for the

very first time on the RODNEY BINGENHEIMER

    show. Then-program director,the late Rick

Carroll (GOOD RIDDANCE!) actually STOLE the

demo tape RODNEY had of this song, and destroyed it!

    Record-company politics has suppressed this

track. I HATE THAT CRAP!! Because, this is a

    far-superior version to E.G. Daily's...and

    D.Harry sings slightly different lyrics:

"Special battle that can be won..." etc.

  • Contrast that with E.G. Daly's lyrics:

    "It's a battle that can't be won..etc."

  • Actually both versions have the exact same lyrics... "there's no battle that can't be won"

  • Are you sure? Sometimes singers take liberties

    with lyrics...Some changes are permissable.

    Thanks for your input.

  • I'm positive, check the link in the info section and listen carefully. :)

  • I still maintain that on E.G.'s version, during the instrumental break, that is Debbie repeating "matter, matter, matter..." Am I wrong?

  • no... you're not i'm practically shure is debbie as well

  • WOW..I had no clue Debbie did a version of this, I had only heard EG Daily's and I love that, this is good too..Debbie's voice sounds fab here. Sounds like the exact same backing track and backing vocals as on Daily's version.

  • AWESOME!!!! she is the hottest lady ever!

  • I forgot how smoking Debbie was back in the day not lesbo just saying.

  • You do speak the truth.

  • The original Rock Goddess.

Why can't someone like DH come along now and save us from the singing gerbils?

    Thanks for posting.

  • @97979797888 'cause there really isn't anyone like debbie.

  • Is there anyway to get hold of an mp3? i just wasted £50 trying to getting an SAW album online that claimed to have it on - needless to say it was false advertising :(

  • I love this . Sounds just as hip 20 years later

  • This is the first time I'm hearing of this and I've read all the Deborah books. Care to send me the MP3?

  • She's so beautiful. What an amazing woman. Thank You for sharing this wonderful clip.

  • =DDDD

  • This was originally E.G. Daily, right?

What is this from? I am a huge DH fan and I have never heard anything about this.

  • Debbie recorded this song for the movie Summer School. However, she left the record label before the soundtrack was released, so E.G. Daily re-recorded the song and her version was released in 1987.

  • So glad you have the info on this. This is one of my fave 80's tracks. I saw EG Daily do this live and she just sizzled on stage. I had no idea Debbie did this. I think she did great. It's testing her vocal range, but she knocks it out.

  • Excellent song and pix! Great job putting it together!

  • wonderful photos shots with a nice song! thanks for posting!

  • You're welcome =)
