  • WOW WHAT A CATCH

  • i love trains go i like trains power darck go

  • Loved the power and horn on 500!Great video

  • great video!!!!!

  • SD-80's are rare in Western N.C, nice to see one with some top gons in action. But if you want a thrill, head to Western P.A and catch some intermodler and action at about 60 or so. WOW!

  • I live in NC and I went to Spencer North Carolina and saw an Norfolk Southern SD80MAC with 102 conrail coal cars and 3 NS Top Gons and that was the one time i didnt have my camera!!! but then last weekend i was in Raleigh NC and saw a NS SD80MAC still in Conrail paint and that was very cool because i live in Rocky Mount and all i see is CSX and Amtrak but its good to see other trains from time to time!!!

  • Yeah, they are becoming a more common sight for some reason. I visit the Biltmore/Asheville yard alot, and see quite a bit of coal action, due to the local power facility. I see a lot of lease units as well. I LOVE those later Conrail SD units. They kind of make me think of what could have been had they not disolved the company.

  • Nice Catch!

  • WOW!!! Thatsa nice lash-up!!!!conrail, KCS SD-70ACe, With NS power!!!!!!!nice 5* and a fav

  • Nice horns! NS seems to have a good variety of horns, being out west, I'm stuck with UP and BNSF, and boy do K3's get boring after a while!

    Love the KCS Belle

  • AWESOME! 5*****!

  • Nice horns!

  • shiny new coal cars

  • I like the crossing setup there. classic Griswold cantelevers, nice vid!!!!

  • Wow! Awesome catches!

  • This is probably around 2 hours. 2 other trains ran which I didn't bother filming.

  • That is one confusing crossing.

  • GOOD SHOT!!!!! Those Aces sure do look pertty! My uncle is a engineer for KCS for 14 years and he got on 4679, 3997, and a lot of the 4000 # Aces. Along with the F units in new paint! :)

  • wow..damn great catch man!!

    a MAC and an ACe!!

  • Hooooooooooooooonkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk!

What a horn on that lead train. There's no mistaking that guy's coming. The middle was nice and that was a treat for the end lashup and horn.

Nice find! Thanks for breving the elements to share with us. I bet it was nice to get back in the truck.

    Thanks for posting!

  • I couldn't feel my hands, lol. But totally worth it!

  • Woah Conrail AND KCS? nice dude!

  • Awesome video Love that Conrail KCS latchup very nice

  • That "KCSM" SD70ACe second out on silver snake 500H406 is actually just straight Southern Belle KCS4036.

You can tell because it is lettered for "Kansas City Southern" and not "Kansas City Southern de Mexico".

  • is it alwasy that busy? ?

  • This time at night there is usually 3 per hour, relatively slow, then later in the night it usually becomes 4 to 6 per hour.

  • O yes... same way out here at CP Windsor sub...they come in bunches... about 3 per 3 hours in day if you lucky 4 in 1 hour...and at night usally crazy per hour and over time

  • Bravo!

  • how do you no thats an SD80?

  • Its number is 7216 which is an SD80, plus look at the engine, its behemoth! Btw awesome video Eric! Youre very lucky, I sadly missed 500, and Y00 since it didnt visit me. Hopefully Ill catch it possibly returning Westbound.

  • so you guys are on the same line?

  • Yeah, but we are like 50 miles apart.

  • thats cool where is this?

  • I was given a few headsups that this train was coming with an SD80MAC leader, and 7216 is an SD80MAC.

  • Nice P135R24 horn!

  • Great catch! I doubt if you see many KCS units either!

  • There it is! Great catch!

  • Nice catch!

  • Good KCS unit! Loved the SD80MAC... I wonder if all the SD80MACs are for a certain Norfolk Southern branch. Because I don't usually see them around Decatur.

  • The SD80MAC's work coal train locals out of South Fork, PA. Until recently, with the coal business upswing, they have been on the Harrisburg Line and Buffalo Line moving coal trains, if you want to see them, come to Pennsylvania.

  • Ok cool... I'm going to New York this summer so I may stop by Pennsylvania.
