  • I love Joan she is wonderful!!!!

  • oh, how i wish she'd bring back the originals from her early solo years. "sweet thing" was always a great cover. she's got some great nina simone up her sleeve. plus a song from "damn yankees", i was led to believe. but, of all the early solo stuff, this is great enough. :)

  • This is probably my favourite song on the "David Live" - her version is obviously totally different and completel stripped down, yet i think its really fantastic. The passion in her voice and the way she has done guitar - its like a tribute to Bowie and yet totally her as well.

  • What do you mean by 'great cover'? Give me back David's inimitable voice and phrasing!! This girl is surely respectable but she should forget about covering such gems if she can't sing them properly! It makes my ears bleed.

  • I agree. My ears aren't bleeding but the emotion of this song is missing. I think this is too much like Tori Amos covering it or something. I'd cover this differently even as a girl. I am glad to see a girl doing it though.

  • yeah. the original was powerful and triumphant. the music was lush and full. i'm into minimalism, but it wasn't the way to go with this song. she just didn't have the right approach to the song.

  • doesent have the same emoitional dominance and brooding impact that Bowie's song 'David 74' sweetthing, but maybe i'm not getting it?

  • hum.. like the way she cover this song of David Bowie

  • Fantastic Joan....Great Cover
