  • I can't believe they actually tried (and obviously succeeded) to convince people they were using an hologram... IT'S A COMPOSITE YOU IDIOTS.

  • just think ,if you fart ,no one can smell it

  • This is coolio

  • You are the first one that we have BEAMED in... lol...

  • Only CNN

    not MSNBC

    not FOX

    but CNN

  • CNN must have been like, "Hmm, we could just put her on one of the numerous high-definition tvs we have doing absolutely nothing in the background, or we could make her an incredibly fuzzy, distracting green screen affect and tell people it's a hologram."

    What were they thinking?

  • Also no reflection on the floor.

  • John Lear talks about holograms, a must see, if you want to know whats really going on. Google "Project Camelot John Lear" , click the first Link and watch Part 1

  • Maybe he and the studio are the holograms and she is real.

  • very nice...critical thinker :)

  • The image is recreated on the cameras. They even explain that in the video.

  • I think it's fake because you need many projectors in the studio to project the hologram.

  • FAKE!!!! not a hologram.

  • so is blizer seeing the hologram too? or do only views see it?

  • only viewers see it, he must feel stupid, talking to air :D

  • yea lol, :)

  • haha

  • What the fuck happened to this world...?

  • i dont think HE'S able to see her as a hologram though =\

as far as i can tell its only a trick for the tv audience

    still cool though

  • yea its weird

  • Darth Vader is coming to kill us! We must stay together and fight!

  • WOW! How unnecessary.

  • It may be unnecessary, but it's good to have this technology. Who cares why it was developed? This has applications. If it was created just to show off, whatever. It was created and that's good enough.

  • It may have applications elsewhere, but it adds nothing to the TV coverage. A split screen would have accomplished the same thing, and would have been less distracting.

  • On seconds thought, I guess I pretty much agree with you, but only because this technology is not new at all. If it had been a real hologram and not faked, I'd say it would be worth it. But it wasn't.

  • i think it looks much neater than the dead centered split screen type of angle. colour doesn't add much to a news broadcast either.

  • It may look neater, but does it add any value? Technological advances are great and should be explored. And if it helps to clarify something, then they should definitely incorporate it (like John King's touch-screen wall). But if it doesnt add anything to what were watching, then whats the point? Your example of color to a newscast actually proves my point. Color brings clarity to an image that B&W could never do.

  • added value: aesthetics. it's more natural to see two people facing each other when conversing than seeing both of them looking at you instead of each other. you are just used to the split screen thing which is fine of course. also, you get almost a full body so you get to see the body language of them while they are interacting more clearly.

  • I agree that facing each other is more natural, as well as the importance of body language. But neither is achieved by a clunky hologram. Also, body language isn't as important when talking to a correspondant or analyst. If they were interviewing a newsmaker (i.e. a politician), then body language would certainly give us more insight. At this point, the technology still has a long way to go.

  • Help me, Wolf Blitzer. You're my only hope.

  • OMG
