  • Intense up all the way, vibe about 1/4 way up. which is about 9 o clock

  • Hi! I recently get a fulltone '69 and I want to use it with my Microvibe in order to recreate a sort of Hendrix sound...could you suggest me how to place and set them? I've tried a lot but I failed! =(

  • Hey Andy,

I was wondering what kind of cables you use in your demos. They sound really good and i was hoping to find some for myself. Thanks.

  • the tone at 3:06 is so godly

  • How it's better? before or after an overdrive pedal? (I use ac booster) thanx

  • SWEETLEAF

  • I'm really doubting between this one and the Malekko Vibrato... can you get the same sounds with this pedal as in the demo of the Malekko? I mean the soft chorus thingy, and the eery sounds with that Radiohead part at the end.. thanks for the good demo's anyway, hope you can reply ;)

  • Oh Izzzaaabellllaaa ~

  • @ebonyepi

The intro song played is called "Izabella".

  • What size power adapter does this pedal use?

  • To avonjunkies this pedal takes heavy distortion very well. You might wanna roll the intensity a bit if you max the speed out. I set the intensity arround 9:00 and max the speed out it sounds evil

  • ROBIN TROWER!

  • I wanna get a univibe to fill in the one last spot on my board. But does it sound the same compared to a phaser. I have a standard MXR Phase 90.

  • Girl i fight this war for the children and you!

  • pearl jam, one of the only non metal bands I listen to

  • I want some Micro Vibe!

  • heeeey, izabella ^^

  • How does this handle heavy distortion?

  • could you do a demo of the Micro Vibe vs the LP Pickle?

  • do I hear a little "funkified" sweet leaf? at 1:56?

  • Haha Andy has one of these on his personal pedalboard.

  • 1:13 - 1:22 is the chorus of Porch by Pearl Jam

  • Seems a little messy sounding, not smooth at all......

  • i'll buy a vibe pedal , just because of this demo. izabella <3

  • whats the song at 2:00?

  • @slashy04 The outro of give it away - rhcp

  • Not deep enough for me

  • Not a bad alternative to the real thing!!! Thanks for posting. :)

  • The processing pedals (chorus, delay etc.) on a board should always be placed inline BEFORE anything which adds gain. Why? Because pedal input circuits are designed to handle a low-level signal from a guitar. Hi-gain distortion and overdrive pedals can sometimes add as much as 20dB to the signal gain, and can often overload the inputs of other pedals, completely screwing your tone and adding unwanted clipping. Hope that helps.

  • does this pedal have an eternal trim pot?

  • bridge of sighs rendition was awesome

  • I've had my eyes on this for a while now, but I've read several places that this particular pedal is not very good combined with the Fulltone OCD. Is this true, and if so why? Great demo BTW, as always.

  • In the last part of the video, he used the vibe with a gain pedal. Sounds OK, however the order is wrong. Normally the signal from the guitar should pass through the gain/boost pedals first and then to the modulation effects (chorus, phaser, delay, etc) The only exception is the wah pedal which exists in the first spot of the chain. Am I wrong?

  • @zifirblues There is no right or wrong way. Many people like Robin Trower use vibe before dirt. It's a personal preference.

  • @zifirblues it actually gives it a more vocalish throb sound if you put it before a drive pedal. Phasers, flangers and vibe pedals are in the same family as a wah, so it can actually sound alot better before drive, whereas chorus is technically in the delay/reverb family, so it sounds better after distortion... but it really is all personal preference

  • @zifirblues i know when i have a fuzz pedal and a boost pedal i have to put the fuzz first in the chain or is loses tone. Btw i prefer the vibe after the shtuff too.

  • @jazzermonk No you don't. The boost before the fuzz will add gain and texture.

  • @zifirblues

If it "Sounds OK," then it's not wrong. That's really the only rule. However, the sound most people tend to prefer is the order you have described. So you're right and wrong:)

Oh, other common exceptions would be compression and harmonizer effects. Most harmonizers track better the cleaner signal they see, and most people prefer to compress the signal before distorting it (as opposed to compressing a distorted signal).

  • @zifirblues Some manufacturers recommend putting modulation effects in the effects loop, which puts the modulation effects AFTER the amp's preamp (and BEFORE the presence / resonance circuits and the power amp).

  • @zifirblues I much prefer the sound of modulation before gain. Especially vibes and phasers. When it's after the gain, the effect takes over the sound and tone too much and it becomes a swirling mess! Mods before gain for me.

  • Is it me or are there two different waves pulsing simultaneously, a slow one and a fast one? It's most obvious around 2:18.

  • been on my pedalboard for over a decade..only pedal thats lasted that long. mines so old it doesn't have the LED light which I've never needed cause trust me-you know when this swirl machine is on, just an amazingly deep sounding pedal.

  • How would you suggest I run this pedal with my set up (ie: where should I put it)? My set up as of now is Guitar -> Fuzzface (JH-F1) -> Wah Pedal (JH-1B) -> Amp.

    Thanks! Nice Video!

  • this or the pickle vibe?? :(

There's only ten dollar difference and the pickle is on the standout stompbox.

The micro is more univibe while the pickle is more phaser and unique.

plus the pickle is so much smaller, geez this is a hard one

  • @thmsrojo They are both univibe pedals, but the Micro has the more traditional circuit (lamp/photocell). You can't go wrong with either, let your ears decide :)

    -PGS Crew

  • Pro Guitar Shop/Andy demos rule! They cause me to spend alot of moola on equipment.

  • Couldn't you get the same effect with a phaser and a chorus?

  • @maynardblues

    Leslie-effect: Yes. Univibe sound: No.

  • gotta have some chili peppers in there haha.

On topic, this seems like one of the most subtle Uni-Vibe type effects i've ever heard. Not even close to the 2 button Dunlop U-Vibe

  • Andy rules! Launching into the solo from "Alive" at 2:55. Ha! Keep it up, man!

  • mike mccready \m/

  • it´s a modulation right?

  • whats a lamp and photo based circuit? they sound cheaper than digital components, does that mean i could go make my own pedal that sounds vintage too?

  • Be wary of going digital to quickly. The difference between digital and analog is that computers cannot understand the concept of infinity. Therefore, a computer cannot create all of the possibilities for tonal varitation and richness that an analog effect can. As a human being, you have the ability to perceive and recognize infinity and infinite tonal possibilities. Don't let the limitations of a computer cheat you out of that unless you have no other options.

  • ...really?

  • @blownglasslide i agree ... digital is usually convenience over quality IMO.

  • It uses an incandescent lamp so the rise of the signal is faster than the fall... since thats the way the light pulses ... this gives it that realistic chewy swirl

  • you are a retard!

  • Is the first riff Hendrix?

  • @totalkarband I wanna know too.. sounds sickk

  • yeah its izabella

  • its izabella-hendrix

  • :O

    How much?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

  • Guitar Center has them on sale for about $119. I ordered one and it is not backordered. Such as life. I also have the Dunlop real Uni-Vibe. Love my toys.

    Have a killer day!

  • how about this paired with a sparkle drive? comments....

  • He already does that in the video, watch it....

  • I love the Alive solo, haha

  • What is the first song???

  • Izabella by Hendrix

  • @hotlanta71 It wasn't.. I don't think maybe you are right.. i'll listen again

  • Someone help me deciding which uni-vibe to buy: the T-Rex Viper, the Fulltone Mini-DejaVibe or the Dunlop one?

  • I would objectively say that the Dunlop is the poorest out of the three. I will leave the choice between the viper and the dejavibe to you.

  • you kidding me? dunlop!

  • Check out the lovepedal pickle vibe. Its cheaper, smaller and IMO sounds better than the 3 pedals you mentioned.

  • I own this pedal, and it excellent for playing Hendrix, Trower, or even Waylon Jennings. I have a 1997 Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Stratocaster, and I can hit the "Machine Gun" and even "Isabella" tones. The only drawback to the dunlop version is that it is not stereo (which the original was). It is a great buy, all handmade in the U.S.

  • wow, that pedal sounds amazing! maybe it's just a better review as from the other pedals, but i'm thinking about buying it.

  • 1:47 good old Red Hot Chili =D

  • does it add gain or have a delayed start like the danelectro Cool catvibe?

I know they both operate off a photo cell circuit.

  • No delay with the Micro Vibe.

  • sounds pretty nice. u should think about getting an ibanez...

  • Overall (considering price) which is better, this or the deja vibe?

  • pearl jam!

    nice!

  • Pretty BadAss" I might want one+

  • Damn, I miss mine. Should get one again.

  • Great review. LOved the izabella at the beginning.

  • Great review again. lovin the RAGE! RATM!

yes this seems very nice, but i guess it'll have to wait after the mothership

  • Another great demo, thanks.

  • the BBE Soul Vibe has better sound.

    great playing though.

  • I didn't care for the Soul Vibe's wave form. The Micro Vibe is much smoother and more usable (in my opinion) There is a internal trimpot in the Micro Vibe that I beleieve adjusts the wave form... and you might be able to get the Soul Vibe sound

  • excellent! i have a micro vibe and i've been waiting for you guys to do a demo. the addition of the sparkle drive is sheer class. great stuff

  • Voodoo Lab tends to get overlooked. Too bad... They make some great effects for reasonable prices. I love the Sparkle Drive!

  • great tone, great demo

  • chili peppers at 1:50 NICE!!

  • Give It Away yeahhh!!!

  • I got chills!!! great pedals andy

  • thanks!!

  • Fantastic!!Thank you for thisfantastic demo!!!Y'ou're the man Andy:)

  • mjm sixties vibe is the best vibe out there

  • pedal po4n

  • Pedal poan?

  • Man trower probably just oozes out of this thing combined with the OCD

  • trower has his own signiture pedal i thought?

  • he uses the deja vibe

  • That is my set up....you have assumed correctly!!! Marvelous Combination...

  • hey andy, i love ur vids.

  • Ha! Ha! That's my exact set up with a USA Blues Deluxe.

    rjake

  • @rjake61 Ha! Ha! That's my exact set up with a USA 1965 Fender Showman

  • Sweet demo!! Stil not as cool as an original uni-vibe,but hey it still is a great pedal! I like the pink floyd style licks!

  • Man! 3:07 and on is worth the price of admission alone! You guys at PGS really, really have to stop making such cool sounding videos. My wife is starting to ask questions.

  • sounds great but IMHO doesnt sound as good as the Lovepedal Vibe or the Fulltone Mini Deja-vibe.

  • How can anyone talk about the Pickle. Come on it's not in the same ballpark. The Mini Deja 'Vibe is the best of them all.

  • sweet tone

  • Great pedal, but does not work well at all with the Fulltone OCD. So stay away from this if you already have an OCD.

    Peace!

  • I have both, it works just fine for me. Are you running the OCD first, because that will make any Vibe or phaser for that matter sound real harsh and squishy.

    -Andy

  • Agreed. My OCD sounded great with a microvibe but not as good as with the mojo vibe!

  • I have them both in line together on my pedal board. Does that mean I should put the vibe before the distortion/fuzz effects on my board?

  • Thanks Andy for your reply.

I did run the OCD first, that might be part of the reason why it did that. But I did buy a KR Megavibe, which I should be receiving soon.

Do you suggest running a fuzz before or after the vibe?

    Kevin

    TheEarthBlues

  • Yea, I think I did run it first...not sure why. At the time I had the MicroVibe I was more of a beginner to effects so I wasn't really sure how to order them.

I'm still learning of course, and with that, I ask, what pedal do you suggest for the best Hendrix sound?

And one more question...I love the guitar demos you guys do...is there any chance you guys could do the pedal demos in this fashion too? What I mean is say have the pedal in the top right corner or something, with vid of you demoing.

  • Our demos our constantly evolving, so who knows, that could be an option. For Hendrix tones check out a good transistor based Fuzz. We have demos of nearly every Fuzz pedal we carry. Thanks,

    -Andy

  • what other fuzz is there but transitor based

  • opamp
