@sotathug941 ....those outrageous prices we see in the newspapers, news media, are because they have become a *status symbol* for the wealthy in China. The Chinese contend there are no pure Tibetan Mastiffs anywhere in the world except for a few in Tibet which they claim belongs to China.
We have TMs all over the world, Europe, Australia, the Americas including Canada with very reasonable priced puppies, not in the millions or hundreds of thousands. GOOD BREEDERS HEALTH TEST before producing
Max was a grandson of one of my dogs; one of my dogs played in MBF as well; he was he one who chased the purse snatcher, jumped the shopping cart, long distance sprint shots after the car, jumped the cop car and played dead at the end =)
@tuki1boo ....WHY FOUR? Are you experienced Tibetan Mastiff owners? Have you done your research as to health certifications, bloodlines, ethical breeders? Four dogs is a bit much for even an experienced TM owner/breeder to take on. Do you plan on breeding? You do know that if you plan on breeding, you will be labeled a puppy miller.
This breed MUST HAVE ONE-ON-ONE SOCIALIZATION with the family and owners; they must be exposed to outside situations to learn discernment.
@Seabreezeranch Because that is how many dogs we want, and yes I have done all my research as I always do before I get any animal. Before I was married my family always had lots of dogs I am use to it. Think about it people have more then one kid right? kids/ babies need lots more attention then a dog and we also plan to have 5 kids. trust me four dogs isnt much we plan to get them two at a time, and I already have a great breeder (drakyi Tibetan mastiffs) I'll have up vids of them all.
@Seabreezeranch And as you can see in the vid how she only has one less then I will whats the diffrence between three and four? And I will have them on 5 acres of land . But I plan to raise the first two then a year later get another 2 I need them to gaurd my estate so I want four.
@tuki1boo ....I know the breeder very well that you say you are getting puppies from. Good luck. Please make sure you get hard copies of the puppies sire and dam's health certifications. Those would be either OFA or Penn Hip for hips; OFA for elbows; thyroid check, eye certification from CERF.
As to raising more than one at a time, that is fine for EXPERIENCED TM people. How much experience do you have raising a Tibetan Mastiff? Research is NOT field work, i.e., experience!!
@tuki1boo ...I certainly hope whomever the breeder is you are getting puppies from provides health certifications on sires and dams. (and 4 is too many for a first time TM owner, I do not care how much research you have done and if there is a breeder agreeing to sell you 4 puppies then they are considered a puppy mill).
@Seabreezeranch I gave you the site of the breeder look them up. And I also said I plan to get 2 my first year and two more when the first two are older. The breeder will not sell me 4 at once actually. DRAKYI TIBETAN MASTIFFS is his site. TRust me you will see in my vids that I know how to take care of my animals. But thanks for looking out though. This breed fits me perfectly almost like we were ment to be.
You need to be VERY careful when buying a TM, they are NOT for everyone. They are destructive, stubborn, a natural livestock guardian breed used to keeping *their own counsel*, selective hearing and are not your *biddable* type breed. expect a partner, NOT a master/dog situation.
also, talk to many breeders, just don't fall in love with a puppy from one breeder, this would be suicide and not do you any favors or justice to a puppy. They are beautiful but very intense, they are NOT Newfs!!
@panamajack7X I appreciate your wise advice! When the time comes to investigate a TM, I plan to look for an adult who needs to be rescued/adopted and to work with TM breeders or TM-breeder-approved rescue organizations. It's too easy to be seduced by a puppy's teddy-bear cuteness.
@toddfre This breeder at SierrasTMs does have young adult dogs for placement into good homes. You should email them here, sorry, I don't have a personal email for them.
I'm not sure what *working version* you are referring to, these pups have too much coat because MY TMS ARE working dogs on a 114 acre ranch with livestock. The ultra hairy ones would NOT survive here because their coats would be a knotted, tangled mess with stickers, burrs, blackberry twigs etc., in it. No thanks, you can keep the super hairy ones ROFL.....I have 2 of those and they do NOT get out and about as much as my true working TMs do.
tibetan mastiffs have two coats; when it is in a warmer climate the tibetan mastiff will shed its primary layer for its shorter secondary layer. (this allows it to endure the diverse temperatures of tibet) however, i am not sure what sub breed you have.
these are the dogs that cost the most money?? i dont see how...

I love my Bouvier to distraction -- but I'm quickly seeing that his next companion has to be a TM. They are obscenely cute and so good-natured!

Adorable puppies, I like the working version a little better because they're a little fluffier.

They're gorgeous would love one. We've got a Greyhound and a English Mastiff X Rhodesian Ridgeback. Check out Shelby, mad puppy.
