@Valnar22 You're right. That shit tripped me up my 1st time. It even took the fairly experienced guy I was playing with/who taught me how to use MAME/Kaillera, a while to figure it out. MAME/Kaillera doesn't tell you specifically WHAT the problem is (connection type). Anyway, you bring up a good point, especially for beginners.

@gjc82071 ah just for informing everyone this isnt the most stable / delay free way to play online .. for every kalliera supported emu there is p2p kalliera (direct connection) its more stable have less desynch and same delay for both players which means NO host advantage the only throwback is that it is 2 players only.. but its damn worth it :P just google for : kalliera p2p there should be a site named : MAME32 + Open Kaillera (P2P) it have a nice tutorial which is easy to follow :P

BTW, I know "how" to use MAME/Kaillera well enough, but I do seem to have trouble actually finding people to play, WITH. I constantly post messages on Youtube "video game related posts, in search of potential players. (often with little luck) Do you know of any websites, message boards, forums, etc, for people in search of other players? Also, would you care to play sometime? Let me know? Thx!

@gjc82071 well i dont to play mame too often but you can try other platforms for arcade games like ggpo (specialy made for beat em ups) what also could help is trying to play on console versions of the games for example killer instict or mortal kombat on zbattle.net / snes9k... and yes i would like to play with you but it depends on the game .. for example i realy like to play super smash bros on a n64 emulator or some super mario kart / international super star soccer deluxe would be nice : o

@Valnar22 If you want to play, don't worry about the games. I prefer more "vintage"/early 80's games, but I am flexible & I like &/or will try a wide variety of game genres. I'd try Smash Bros, or Mario Cart (but no soccer please). I LOVE MAME, but it's the only platform I can find people to play (when/if I even find anybody @ all). I would actually like to try a "console" online, like S/NES/64 or Sega. I don't care. So what kind/other games do you like? Do you primarily like Beat'em ups?

@e101gamma In the games list, Right click on any/the game in question, select [Properties], then click the [Controllers] tab. In there @ the bottom you should see "Restore Default Settings". That's all dude. }:o)

@cocabanz I'm hoping you figured out your problem by now, but if not, It probably has to do with game auditing. I've come across this problem before with people on Kaillera. Do the audit AFTER you connect to Kaillera. See if that helps. If not, let me know & we can dissect the problem in a little more detail.

In case you guys are wondering why the old mame 0.64 is used over the new version.. It allows for 4 players in a single room. There is a feature that allows you to swap controls by pressing f5! I did not know this until the other day..

This is pretty fun for Mortal Kombat games..winner stays. If you guys wanna play Meet in West Wonderland, it's always got people playing mk on there.. or the Mortal Kombat Server that says official on it, in the list!

I've tried to set up kaillera on 3 different pcs but it never works properly. I've set the firewall to allow mame and kaillera full internet access. The kaillera client loads the server list, but when I try to connect to any of them, it just says "connecting..." but then nothing ever happens. How do I fix this?

This is very simple. dnload that rom/game. find that rom on ur pc. copy it. then go inside the Mame 32k 0.64 folder then look 4 a roms folder then go inside the roms folder then u paste the rom in there. then u do the directoriess bit again
