  • Andrei Tarkovsky is indeed one of the greatest auteurs of all time, along with Kurosawa, Bergman, Fellini, Luis Bunuel, Satyajit Ray and Stanley Kubrick.

  • make your comparisons and live with your opinions, some things ARE set in stone and godamnit this certainly IS. I am moved when I witness such artistry in a medium that has become misunderstood and tampered with to such an extent that you can so easily distinguish the profit hungry madmen from pure cinema geniuses YES its a cliche but thats what it is PURE CINEMA. It is a great loss not only to the art but to humanity, YES im whimsical about and a bit NOSTALGIC but fuck it you have to be.

  • @AMBat3rdrock Your comment moved me a lot, I can relate.

  • @AMBat3rdrock You got that right. :-)

  • Maybe the greatest work of Tarkovsky is to demonstrate that under a world of violence and hate there´s another made of beauty, poetry and love.

  • Thank you!

  • nothing gives me the chills like this.

  • amazing!! cheers!

  • Tarkovsky is the best director in world then comes Eisenstien and after him Kubrick.

I pitty miserable fuck who clicked dislike (it is obvious he dont like films).

  • @zigifrojd I will add Bergman to that list. Even before Kubrick, in my opinion.

  • @Camerador I addore Bergman films especially 7th seal, Persona, Autumn sonata, Fanny and Alexander, Wild strawberries.

  • Impresionante realizador! un genio ... todos los conceptos de la expresión artística audiovisual elevados a la genialidad.

  • 塔可夫斯基萬歲!

  • the man was out of this world. Name a single director in the world shooting something so beautiful. Federico and Kurosawa had the gift. Orson Welles had it. Bergman had it. Krzysztof Kowalski had it. But this is something else.

  • @internet1965 i think you mean Kieslowski?

  • @TomCrooze1102 kowalski????? hahahahhaha sorry.

  • @internet1965

Who is Krzysztof Kowalski? Nothing on imdb ...

  • @kellnola It Krzysztof Kieslowski. One of gratest 5 directors of the worl. Really true genious. Look 3 color blue, red, white and decalog especially 1 of ten for start.

  • it was the great!

Thank you and thank you again!

  • 2.27 - 2.30

  • I think, perhaps even more than Bresson, it was Tarkovsky who invented a new language.

  • It's like Bach made his music for Tarkovsky's films.

  • Beautiful. What is the name of the accompanying music?

  • From St. Matthaus- passion: Arie: Erbarme dich

  • Thank you. I wish my knowledge of music was a bit better...

  • Beautiful music!

  • Andrei died youg like a true Genius

  • ♥

  • Thank you DOUBLEBICEPS!Tarkovsky is my idol.

  • ¡¡¡A beautiful piece of art!!!

    ¡¡¡Viva Tarkovsky!!!

  • ufff..when you see this type of genius work and you think of the current state of contemporary films...how low we have fallen...

  • @cineasta71 There are some new great films. There are always great filmmakers and bad filmmakers and the bad ones outnumber the good ones.

  • @elizabethfaraone You might be right. The closest to Andrei will be Sokurov and maybe Bela tarr. But what i was referring to was the fact that there's obviously a big difference of HIS work and the work of Cineastes at that time that there are now..but anyway geniuses are rar, very rare and Andrei was one of them..with just a few films was able to talk about spirituality, earth elements, the divine and the list goes on and on..!!

  • @cineasta71 I, too, adore Tarkovsky's films.

  • @cineasta71 i couldn't agree more.. .. .

  • @cineasta71 Anrew T. himself said how low the film industry had fallen already then. Directors don't aim for anything high anymore, like the purpose of our being or the search of spiritual thruths. People "wouldn't understand" or wouldn't want to understand or think deep.

  • @recordsmanukrnet If he said that back then, imagine now.

  • @cineasta71 dont be an idiot

  • @blaiserfilms Thanks! I guess we as in (40) are idiots canadian boy.

  • @cineasta71 yeah congrats on the 40 thumbs up.... i just mean its sooo shallow to say "they don't make films like they used to! oh the good ol' days!" you know there were shitty blockbusters back then too? i love tarkovsky. but there is great cinema being produced every year. how can you even say this when "the tree of life" is being released in like the next week nationwide? is that not a movie "like this"? see, you're an idiot

  • @blaiserfilms Look canuck kid, let me explain it to you. What i meant is that back then when AT was god, the average film was way way superior of what it is now. Malick is opening a masterpiece, not doubt but so is Transformers and many more. The dumming down culture and corporate greed have their way now but not back then when films were made with metaphysical transcendence, do you want me to explain metaphysical transcendence to you, fucking moron??!!!

  • @cineasta71 actually it's very clear the majority of films are better today than back then. i love old cinema better, we're on the same page in taste, but technology is way better today than it was back then. take a person to "transformers" in the 60's and they would've lost their shit. i know it's all corporate bullshit, trying to make money, etc.... but the point is they followed the exact same formula back then. both era's have brilliant and shitty movies. stop being so shallow

  • @blaiserfilms

"actually it's very clear the majority of films are better today than back then"

You don't understand shit of what i am saying.

Just go a try to get a distribution deal for your shorts instead of burping.

  • @cineasta71 Pretentiousness alert but yeah i completely agree with you.

  • @cineasta71 Don't be gloom my friend I'm bringing back the art.

  • @FilghiProductions Keep trying, that's what counts...

  • @cineasta71 Haha no seriously.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing!
