Sister Joy is right on point...The U.S. is one of the few 'modern", "1st world", "civilized" countries that have not owned it's original sins chattel slavery being one of them...France is another for it's part in Haiti's predicament (1825 France demanded that Haiti pay 150 million gold francs to "compensate" French plantation slave-owners who couldn't benefit from slavery anymore)...Dr. DeGruy may agree that a fair name for this country may be the United States of Cognitive Dissonance...
