Absolutely.. I got an Aeroclub 'white metal' cowl for the Gloster Gladiator today, at the show.. Will use it for one of the Airfix kits, and make it as the Norwegian version on skis.. I also got the best Gladiator kit ever made, a Heller kit in 1/72, which I will use for my Swedish / Finnish Gladiator.. :) :) No need to change ANYTHING on that kit, it even comes with skis.. I paid a PRICE for it though.. not cheap! BUT SO WORTH IT!!! :) It even comes with holes for the rigging.. YEE -HAAW!!
Heller is a bit like Airfix.. What they do good, they do BRILLIANT!! What they do bad, they do AWFUL!! But Heller have some rare birds in their production, like the Saab J21 and Saab Safir.. kits that nobody else have made.. The Airfix Saab J29 is originally the Heller kit, but these days it's easier to find the old Heller kit, than the newer Airfix version.. :) And the Gladiator is superb... There may be a better kit out there, but I've never seen one in 1/72.. :)
Airfix and Heller used to be mreged at one point, and it was mainly Hellers fault that Airfix went down a couple of years ago.. but now it's owned by Hornby, and they have come back with a vengeance.. :)
I use supeglue GEL.. one tiny drop at a time! I was going to make one of these things, but I can't get a 'Hold On', as mentioned at 01:26.. What should I do?? :) Hold on's are hard to come by in the UK.. :) 1980's sprue?? That was a good vintage... I prefer a slow sandpaper, I never seem to be able to catch the quick ones.. they're too fast for me!
Enough stupidity.. great video, excellent tabletop demonstration, going in my favs and playlist of useful ideas.. :)
That's a pretty cool tool you've made there. I can definitely see myself using something like this. You'll have to let us know how well it works in the future.
ive watched many of your videos, and i have a question. How long have you been modeling and what brand makes quality kits for beginnig modelers?

Hey! I think if you have and EXACTO knife pro (with replacable blades) you can fit the tiny needle in the cross slit where the blade would go.

Yeah, just like you just showed us all! :)

Cool video! (In my favorites!)

couldnt you use it like a pencil by putting the needle in the end?
thedefiantrebel 2 years ago
Hmm? Sorry, can't get what you mean.. I guess I'm just too tired ._.
myhuxpo 2 years ago
instead of sticking the nidle in the missle of the sprue, you could stick it in the end, and use it like a pencil

Very true! :)

Sweet! That's awsome!
And the Airfix cowls do suck... literally.. I learned that the hard way :P
And never thought Heller made good kits?
