  • Beautiful! Can I buy your music on iTunes?! : )

  • Skylark!

  • I really like the cittern with the pipes. Nice sound, nice vibe goin' on, and great tune selection!

  • fantastic talent ! Full of interpretation and feeling. Wonderfull version of mt crisco

  • @thaindor, Much appreciated! We are hoping to record a version of this set sometime in the summer for my solo album.

  • Amazing! You are so talented.

  • @emmaeilene,

     Thank you!:)

  • You played the heck out of that. Nice job, my day is much brighter now. Thanks for posting this!

  • @TheCactusjack1, Cheers! Thanks for watching:)

  • @Legertymusic Lol, i just noticed the head-bopping/weird faces duo in your vid description. Haha. That just means your feelin' it. I know I am. The funny thing about mistakes is that if you just keep playing and don't loose time, most folks never notice them, I know I did not notice your 'mistakes' at all. How do the pipes rate in difficulty? It looks easy when you play, but I get the feeling that they are tricky. I've played penny whistle, clarinet , sax, and guitar. Cheers to you!

  • @TheCactusjack1, I cannot recall if I ever answered this. Sorry! To make a long story short, the uilleann pipes are very difficult and pretty complicated and take a lot of knowledge to maintain. Having said that, they are like any other instrument. If you have a good set and you put in the practice and you have a good teacher/peer group/support group and you just keep at it, you will get better. You just have to have the bug! Hope that helps. Please email me if you want to know more.

  • You have definitely been bitten by the bug. You play the pipes, guitar, and flute that I've seen. You play them all well. Now the question is, which do you prefer to play the most? Or rather, when someone asks you what you play, what do you say first?

  • @pianoman9876, thanks for the kind comment. I actually couldn't say. I love playing pipes, flute, etc. I love the guitar. I love the mandolin and banjo, bouzouki, mandola, etc. I love singing traditional songs. It really depends on the day or on what I have been hired to play! (or, in the case of the pipes, if they are actually working...)

  • I hear you. Pipes on a bad day can be frustrating. I bet that's where the term "cat out of the bag" came from. Because when hes screeching and groaning it sure sounds like he wants out. Are you staying put at home now, or doing some touring? If you ever get over to Indy, you should stop in to one of our sessions.

  • Well, I just got off of a month on the road, partially recording in Ohio, and then a tour of the Pacific northwest, so I am probably at home for much of March. I will let you know if I am ever out out Indy way. My mom's family lives in Indianapolis.

  • i wonder what the Uilleann pipes would sound like with an Er Hue...that would be interesting...to COMPLETELY different cultures

  • Probably pretty cool. I love the sound of the erhu. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if somewhere, someone has already recorded both instruments together.

  • bloody hell thats great playing boys ! jazus i m a 47 year irish man who loves irish music never seen these 2 chaps till now but by god they can play ! well done lads keep it up . slan anois !

  • Yes, to Killoran, and I heard a story about its being written with a particular young lady from Mt. Kisco (which is about 35 miles north of NYC) in mind.

  • Lovely set, Zac. I went to high school in Mount Kisco. I don't think that there is a Mt. Cisco.

  • You are right there, Joel! I had forgotten that the actual town in NY is spelled with a "K". The tune has been recorded under both spellings. The folk tradition strikes again! The tune is generally attributed to Paddy Killoran, I believe.

  • Wonderful as always! Keep the videos coming!

  • Now that's starting the new year right! Mighty as always, Zac.

  • Excellent piping!

  • Thank you, I appreciate it!:)

    Zac

  • Nice set! Zac - I still owe you that photo. Joseph - looking forward to seeing you in Feb.

  • A CD, too, whenever it comes out...:P

    Cheers, Randy!

    Zac

  • Yep, that too.

  • well done sir you are a class act all the way . i m assuming you are from across the big pond your piping is excellent . the uileann pipes are the only instrument that bested mike oldfield . when he recorded " ommadawn " in mid seventies he had to get paddy moloney to play the part . its the best part of that album . i really like your stuff i presume you ve listened to lots of paddy keenan liam og o floinn kevin potts et al ? any way keep it going well done again

  • Thank you, Jacques! You are very kind and it is nice to hear such praise from an Irishman. Yes, Keenan, O'Flynn, Sean Og, etc would all be influences. Great players all! I will have to look up that album. Cheers!

  • Oh, and yes, I am from the states.

  • crazy good

  • Great endi....

  • Yeah, I think that was where the memory card maxed out!

  • the "Maids"! one of my favorites! playing right along with ya!
