Humans do a nasty thing every time they play with nature. Nature, aside from hyenas, at least attempts to keep the nastiness down to a minimum. It is human tampering that causes all of the real hurt. One could dutifully assume that maybe humans should just leave it alone. This is too much for a species that has exceeded it's natural boundaries and must now resort to artificial facilities, which do not follow nature's routine, and thus cause hurt that nature isn't designed to prevent.
You appear to have forgotten who runs this planet. Occasionally it is for the good of it, but of course could possibly be for the bad; furthermore, you also seem to have utterly forgotten that in most of the cases can be for the good.
And hopefully the good will surpass the bad, but what you are basically saying here is that because humans are aware of what they want and can formulate it, they then have the right to force their will on top of anyone they feel like and quite possibly even pass legislation upon legislation until there is nothing left to do because someone somewhere has something against this and that being made.

Any hurt that nature causes, is just enough to cause the fear mechanism to kick in, so life will at least try to remain intact. If it didn't, they'd be a lot more extinct, wouldn't they. Bacteria, plants, etc, are an entirely different story, as they lack this mechanism. All they can do is react to negative stimuli, but they can not fear it.

By the way Kg3980, as a huge side note, if you think that swallowing a little goldfish is horrific, then I suggest a tour of a slaughterhouse; I think you'll be astounded of what that cow or chicken had to go through to make your hamburger or chicken fillet. And if you think eating any kind of meat is wrong, think again. We humans are meat eaters, although many of us still manage just fine with vegetables, in the end, that's not how we are meant to be.

On a moral level, I am unconvinced that animal swallowing is malevolence. It involves the taking of a life in a particularly cruel approach, yes; indeed no one can deny that. But is it morally disgraceful? I don't think anyone can say that unless they are vegetarians and are prepared to condemn all animal killing. Anyone who condemns another for swallowing a fish, then turns around and eats a salmon fillet or a hamburger is being a hypocrite.

Lions go straight for the jugular, for the sake of their own survival; what would you call this video? Why should we not be permissible to compare ourselves with other living beings that share the same core instinct as us? -- Eat in order to survive; which was my point all along. This does of course take me to the first and second comment I wrote, where my endeavour was to bring parallels between the two, and they had nothing to do with the attempt of "defending this cruelty". They were strictly referring to the human way of extracting chemical energy (food; that is).

The video will remain, and most are going to be none the wiser on how they take life for granted, in instances just such as slaughter houses. Humans do a nasty thing every time they play with nature. Nature, aside from hyenas, at least attempts to keep the nastiness down to a minimum. It is human tampering that causes all of the real hurt. One could dutifully assume that maybe humans should just leave it alone. This is too much for a species that has exceeded it's natural boundaries and must now resort to artificial facilities, which do not follow nature's routine, and thus cause hurt that nature isn't designed to prevent.

Any hurt that nature causes, is just enough to cause the fear mechanism to kick in, so life will at least try to remain intact. If it didn't, they'd be a lot more extinct, wouldn't they. Humans, however, seem to assume that nothing but themselves possess this mechanism, when all animals right down to insects have it. Bacteria, plants, etc, are an entirely different story, as they lack this mechanism. All they can do is react to negative stimuli, but they can not fear it.
