  • ...you know...hypocrites

  • One of two legendary Ozarks bands. The other, Big Smith, recently broke up after their long career.

  • Raising Hell on New Years eve Happy New Year 2012..

  • i gave michael jordan a 'hi-five' at a bulls game front row when i was 15...

don johnson and i are somehow blood related...

kirsten dunst and i kicked it one night.

all that shit doesn't matter; compared to the fact my pops was a roadie for these dudes one summer. real talk.

  • I live in the ozarks. Most these guys live about ten miles from my house

  • rock on boy s the woodlands party animals

  • All my friends are into rock and roll or they are not friends of mine.

  • if they're racist they can go jump in a lake. i like to think that if they were they will have seen the error in their ways and corrected it

  • Were these guys as racist as Lynnryd Skynyrd? I hope not, for I like the song.

  • @kja427 dude lynyrd sknyrd aint racist dummie listen to the ballad of curtis lowe

  • @kja427 Dumbo why would you say that

  • @kja427 Skynyrd weren't racists - that's an urban legend. "Sweet Home Alabama" was tongue-in-cheek and Ronnie van Zant, their leader in the 70s, was a liberal. The other side of that album opened with Ballad of Curtis Lowe, about a young white boy's friendship with an old black dobro player. When a band of hippie types posed with Confed flags, that was also a statement, and not one that racists would have approved of back then.

  • They are at a free concert in Nashville this afternoon...

  • I saw these guys in New Haven CT when I was like 17. 1978 or so if I remember right

  • @Turdbuckethat it seemed like many bands played the CT back in the day.

  • great

  • only thing that could make these guys any better is a little southern drawl

  • Saw em in Tulsa at Cains Ballroom in 1980. We broke out the gonge and had a helluva time. Back then we called it Red Bud.

  • Good rock 'n roll crosses all the boundaries. I'm from Boston but I grew up lovin this band

  • Saw these guys back in the day. They were great. Glad to hear they are still around.

  • Played last month in the FROG BAR at CAMDEN ON THE LAKE in Lake Ozark MO

    They Rocked.!!!!!

  • Great song...brings back memories of the 1970s.

  • What a fantastic memory drinking beer, skinny-dipping at the old swimming pond listening to OMD. Wore out the old 8 track tape this was on. Great concert at Kansas City breathing in all that wonderful smoke that was floating around.

  • CLASSIC! WISH I COULD GO BACK IN TIME,,

  • the harmonica is the best part

  • Jesco brought me here...

  • Another timeless classic:-)

  • ROUND UPP MUC,

    a one-hit-wonder

    play loud, you´ll get more

  • Ah... another example

Remember when bands could actually play their songs pretty much exactly like they wanted and pretty much were capable of sounding as good live as the album...

  • Love this song, It brings to mind the song(Just listen to the Music, Doobie Brothers). God loves music, he hears us best in song and when we sing because our soul is grovin.

  • LMAO My uncle used to play this song on his harmonica when I was kid.

  • My god havent heard this for so so long, chilling and listening to these guys

  • heard this song from jesco white's "dancing outlaw" documentary..LOL funny stuff

  • I agree with hotstuff & buddy long live this music

  • jesco white brought me here.

  • Loved this tune since I was a kid.

That's an odd logo in the back, a guy kickin a crucifix. ?

  • jesco from dancin' outlaw busts out a mean tap-dance to this tune

  • "...heard it on that wierd radio."

No dude, heard it on YouTube!!!

  • The OMDs hit #25 in Billboard, 6-29-74. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • Need more songs with the jammin harmonica!

  • I'm from the Ozarks, and I believe we need a new batch of Ozark daredevils.

  • Rock n fuckin roll. I don't care if ur young or old it don't matter this is every bodies song and it rips

  • I love this band.

  • God Bless the Hippies!

  • this songs pretty much my rule of thumb for life!

  • if god loves me he will let me party with these guys. if not... well i guess i will just raise a little hell

  • @peterborough1960 You gotta RAISE some Hell to RAZE some Hell ;-)

  • im sure that this comment will be reassuring for many out there. I am an 18 year old, and i LOVE music like this! this here is what i like to call, REAL music. not this new age stuff that has no soul, no feeling in it what so ever. as long as i can, im going to keep this music alive! like their album, ALIVE! haha

  • Those of us who remember songs like this when they hit the charts may have had long hair, listened to 8 track tapes, wore bell bottoms, drove muscle cars, and our sweeties may have wore halter tops but we respected our country, saluted our flag, and would kick anyone's ass who did not like it. Guess what? We are now the back bone working class of this country who love it and will still go to your ass while listening to 70's Rock!

  • @hotstuffandicecream Right on! Well put.

  • @hotstuffandicecream

    bull shit

  • @hotstuffandicecream Gee are we that old awesome song

  • @hotstuffandicecream Amen brother!

  • @hotstuffandicecream Damn straight!

  • I'm a "WiLD CHILD" .. hahaha.....Love these guys ..I ain't that old . just love the music..DAMN...why can't they keep it "REAL" ..? ! Don't have time for the "RAP" crap...I can shout and yell and "CUSS" at HOME.....(and keep my pants on)!!! I "PRAY"......

  • Jesco fans, come support his brand new song co-written by the man himself! ''The Dancing Outlaw'' is Jesco's brand new bio song. A lot of years, heartaches, and struggles are pourd out into this future classic. To listen, just click on my channel. All comments will be read by Jesco as well. Thanks for supporting JW all these many years. He appreciates each and every one of you fans more than you will ever realize.

  • What's the name of dude with harmonica ?

  • Never gets old!

  • so many good mrmrys and im an aussie o.o my parents r still long haired hippes long live the groove rock on guys

  • @jbshintaro69 great song . aussie aussie ausie

  • i know all of them i was raised around them in m.o.

  • These guys make me feel lucky to live in the Ozark Mountains. Growing up, I heard them play all around this area. And their music is now truly classic. Very cool.

  • Hell yeah! Thats what I'm talkin Bout!

  • Wow brings back the good memories. I saw them in 1980 at a little place in Tulsa called the Cain's Ballroom. People were siftin seeds off the budweiser trays and rolin j's! They had every kind of instrument you could imagine....even the washboard!

  • Oh shit!! This takes me back to the day. A nice fatty & a jug of wine camping by the lake. Sun shing down from clear blue skies, chicks in halter tops shakin what they got & this cranked up! Hot damn! That cat blowing harp is just one bad mo' fo' ya know?! Course it's not like that now. Can only jam now with no accoutrements. But back then man I tell you you what!!

  • @recsec You gonna pass that brother, or do I gotta roll my own?

  • Kaintuck Territory, mid 70's...lololol

  • at least they're trying to get there

  • Seen them at a outside concert in missouri once, totaly awesome group on a excellent sunny day. One memory that will last a lifetime. Sure miss the good old rock & roll.

  • well alright then :-)

  • who knows in what key he's playing the harp?

  • @ILmoriz33 I forgot how it goes but if a song is played it the key of G, you would use a key of C, that is if you are using the blues scale, its here on youtube look it up, hope that helps. I'll see if I can find it.

  • @wvgitpicker thanks alot (Y)

  • @ILmoriz33 The key of the song is C. so, you would use an F harp for that part. I think someone replied to you and they were correct in that you always play the 4th tone of the major key of the song for harp. In other words if the song's in the key of G you would use a C harp. key of D you would use a G harp. key of F you would use a C harp, etc.....

  • hippies. far out man

  • @buddyrichjunier There are still a few of us long-haired hippies around ya know. Of course we have jobs and take baths now, but...yeah.

  • @DamascusHounds But,some of us have no hair no more!

  • @DamascusHounds The boys from Springfield......... Wow!

  • @DamascusHounds: but we all strangely still smell like nag champa.

  • @buddyrichjunier ROFL Outstanding!! :) We are STILL all *Far Out indeed !! But I wouldn't have traded the late 60's or early 70's for anything!! Suck epic and awesome memories...It's our Legacy. We earned it. :) Even if we do have jobs and take baths now. hahahaha

  • Every tune on thier first album was perfect.

  • does anyone know where 'chicken train' from this show went?

  • Great song. At 15 I bought the album because of this song, and the rest of it sucked unfortunately. Still like this song though.

  • Try "Men From Earth" !

  • RIP Earl and Roscoe Jones

  • I'm standin on a rock in Missouri!! Love you guys!

  • If you wanna get to heaven quit preaching god. them arabs need to learn a lesson. So long isah and all you rag heads. lol

  • PURE TALENT AT IT'S BEST!

  • I love this song! I wonder what would happen if ZZ Top covered this?

  • Jesco White's tap dancing song!

  • Ain't exactly the debauchery of Stiv Bators of Deadboys fame but if you were living on the West Slope of Colorado circa 1978 then they were as close to rebels as Lynryd Skynrd as you could get (maybe the Marshall Tucker Band or Outlaws or Waylon Jennings). Actually the Grateful Dead were the ruling "rebels" de rigueur.

  • Missouri boys for the win!!

  • When we all get to Heaven what a day of rejoicing that will be----HALLELUJAH!

  • just ehard this on My Name is Earl...loved it...

  • Why don't you ever hear this on the radio? All I ever hear by this group is "Jackie Blue"

  • @Oldiesmann They play it on the radio here in Missouri

  • @Apockiller That's good. The only song from them I ever hear on the radio here in Cincinnati is "Jackie Blue", though I don't usually listen to country music stations, so they might play it on one of them (we have at least 4 country music stations here in Cincy).

  • @Oldiesmann Try a classic rock station. They play both Jackie Blue and If you wanna get to heaven on the classic rock station in Springfield.

  • @Apockiller The one here in Cincinnati doesn't.

  • what a true story and yes this song was more than likely made before I was born but it rings true for all generations

  • @trikgod You sir have shitty taste in music.

  • @husker222 Go Big Red! Good music and good football.

  • .I saw these guys in 74 or 75 at the Iowa state fair, had a toe tappin',foot stompin' good time thanks to the Daredevils and MadDog 20/20

  • Hell Yeah!!!

  • 1974, I believe. I was stationed at Ft. Carson, Colorado when I first heard this song, and I fell in love with this one & "Chicken Train". They just don't make music like this any more, and that's a shame.

  • people like live versions because it don't get more original, and that's a fact, muva fucha!

  • I reckon that my place in heaven is assured, cause i've sure raised enough hell in my time.

  • Another song similar to this (but even more hillbilly) is "Chicken Train".

  • Jammin' on that harp ol man!

  • @LucinaBackihg45 nah... I still prefer my vinyl

  • Wild Mountain Flowers, Oh Yessssssssssssssss!

  • I was looking for "Sitting Downtown In a Railway Station" but this is pretty good too. :)

Funny how the other song is not out there by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. I used to love their version of that song.

  • good gawd almighty, what a spankin' good time;)...that's some fantastic great craic... harmonica blows the hinges off my cadi doors, lol! luv , jillykiller;)!

" yeah i heard it in the alley, now it's in my rock ~n roll"... (p.s. i was born in missouri, damn straight, southern chick!) southern bo's rock on...yup~

  • i ain''t no preacher girl (tho i've been told otherwise, lol)...but if ya wanna git to heaven...you don't haveta die...no sir...just go into yer soul...be joyful, kind, full of love, and put yer party hat on...if you wanna git to heaven, you gotta raise a little hell, yessir...do it! blow the rust & dust outta yer soul...and live! that's it..not rocket science!

  • This the Best song from the 70s! I believe God wants us to enjoy Life! This song is soooo soulful!!!

  • This band name is permanently linked to David Cross in my mind . . .

    Ozark Mountain Daredevils!

  • Religious significance? C'mon, they're just having some fun! If you're looking for meaning, I think they're just trying to say you need some balance in life; we're human and we shouldn't pressure ourselves to be perfect. I remember when this song came out in the 70's, and I like it just as much now.

  • @catdog420 lol

  • I love it!!! All this about religion.... just listen to it for what he's saying. It rocks, that's that!

  • I have lived by this song and honestly bad luck and trouble is the majority of what ive experianced lol go figure , god kills lots of people , the tooth fairy is awesome she leaves money instead of sickness death and bullshit! I personaly believe in Sponge Bob Square Pants the divine and his sheer silliness has saved me from "Hell" wich is really just an eternity of doing dishes at the Krabby Patty! So dont believe the hype!

  • God doesn't exist you fools. . . honestly, it's like trying to explain the tooth-fairy to a six year old!

  • @sportbillio Have you ever seen a million dollars? Just please answer 'yes' or 'no'.
