I was at the memorial two times. The first time there were flowers and the second time there were not. It all depends on whether or not the guy that decorates it is there that day.
Are there always flowers being left on the memorial? I'm visiting in a few weeks and I'm wondering if it would be weird if I left something there for John or if people always do that?
I was there the other day on the 70th aniversary of his death which is also his birthday I was told which I ws unaware of until recently....Another amazing link which I never made before is: MY BIRTHDAY IS ON EXACTLY THE SAME DAY. 9TH OCTOBER!
I had to have a picture taken of myself sat cross-legged on the 'Imagine' memorial on this special and most significant day...Its gonna be my facebook profile from now on I'm sure!!
Peace n Love to everyone who is open to it, RIP John. X
Death is always a loss for someone. It is so sad that John just missed it. His songs are full of his search for peace, love, brotherhood...and yet he rejected it. It was right in front of him all the time. Life, peace and love for others are only found in Jesus Christ. All of the words that John sang, Jesus spoke 2,000 years ago. You can not reject love and sing about it. You can not reject truth and sing about it. If you imagine life without Christ that is what you will get life without HIM.
Nice video..... Its a shame when people are paying respect to a legend that some goon has to try to be a smart arse & walk over it, what a "TIT" When he dies lets hope everyone walks over his grave, maybe even take their dogs for a "DUMP" right next to his grave stone which will probably read "Here lies Mr Ignorant Bastard" / Foxy!!......
If I was there, I would of walked right up to the guy who walked on the memorial and told him to fuck off. John Lennon will always be remembered, and he will always be in the hearts of those who love him.
@TVSunlandTV Because Yoko Ono lives across the street in the Dakota and she doesn't want to see pigeon poop all over his statue ever time she walks through Strawberry Fields.
We can find Lennon's memorial everywhere even in Google Earth and I searched The Dakota Building they found Strawberry Fields (memorial I clicked on it and found a vid of a guy there it was so nice :'(
I know, I'm mad he did that too. He is the guy that puts out all the flowers and photos on the Imagine circle ... so I guess he thinks he can step all over it. Not cool.
Going back to New York in Dec and this time I am going to go to see the memorial. I went to see where he lived when my daughter and I were there last year but somehow forgot to go see the Imagine Circle :( Not this time...I will not forget. Thanks for posting such a lovely tribute to such an unforgettable man!
When I Lived In NY. I used to go to This Part of the Park To Meditate. Its very peaceful, clean Oxygen and No noise of the Big City. You feel like going to Heaven with this Song. Many Memories... Melancholy for the past and maybe for the unwritten Future. Peace For You
I am going to Strawberry Fields next week, I am very excited to see it and to see the Dakota. I plan to leave some flowers at the mosaic in memory of the worlds greatest musician, r.i.p John Lennon. <3
Actually i saw that guy a few days ago when i took my trip to new york and hes mostly there preaching and talking about John Lennon to visitors who come to strawberry fields, who cares if he walks on it?
welcome2myhell6? ur right why do the good die young i guess its because god just cant stand being away from the really good people very long so he calls the good people home early? to bad he didnt give john a better death such asstroke in his 90's.
What I find most fascinating about this mosaic is that everyone respects it. No one steps on it, runs on it or rides their bikes over it. I had gone to Strawberry Fields in October of 2005, John's 65th birthday and it was mobbed! I couldn't get close to the mosaic at all because of all the people, press and news cameras. If you go on an off day, you can see it without the crowds.
I was there today. It feels nice to sit and see people from everywhere showing so much appreciation for John... it is one of my favorite place in this beautiful (but some times ugly) city...
awesome tribute, I stood at the imagine circle on April 4th 2008, it's as emotional as being at the Abbey Rd Crossing, and who's the douchebag who walked over the circle at 1.47, that was disrepectful to John. I also saw one idiot who did the same when I was at the Imagine Circle.
Thanks Lorraine, I have heard of Gary and know he is the "Mayor" of Strawberry fields. On my trip their recently, there was one guy who came accross as very disrepectful to the Imagine Circle.
I was among the hundreds who attended Strawberry Fields on the 25th anniversary of John's death. I could not go even close to the mosaic because of the mob of people and news cameras. The most interesting thing I saw was that a tourist group from Germany was standing around the mosaic while their guide was explaining, in German, what the mosaic meant. Great video.
Very nice! I visited Strawberry Fields for the first time earlier this year. Seeing the memorial was just like in your video. Surrounded by a bunch of admirers and covered with flowers, pictures, etc. Shows how much he ment to people and that his legend will live on.
I got a lump in my throat while watching that video. God, if only John hadn't died! Why is it that someone so gentle and peaceloving should meet such an ironicly hostile and violent end? I want to go see this memorial myself. I wonder how many times John and Yoko sat in the park near the location where the memorial is now? Strawberry Fields Forever & Ever!!
im kind of offended that they used the long and winding road in this because it was a paul song, not a john. he would be angry if he w this video.

The guy walking over it is the guy that decorates it with the flowers. Even so, I don't think he should walk over it like that.
